Don't expect a Barry's-style bootcamp where you get to have a break every few minutes and the instructor doesn't give you much individual attention. This is a solid hour of work - running (around a track, outside, up and down stairs), jumping jacks, burpees, jumping lunges, sit-ups, free weights, planks, pull ups, etc etc etc. All muscle groups; strength, cardio, and endurance. No two workouts are the same (although you start to get used to the rhythm of them). There is a lot of partner work, and it can be a little bit competitive but also hugely supportive. As mentioned, there's an obstacle course you do at least once a class. Oh, and the instructors don't miss a thing so it's impossible to slack off. You will sweat, you will absolutely count out loud in synchronization with everyone else, you might feel like you want to throw up. However, when you're done you'll feel like you can basically do anything. Anything. If you come regularly you'll notice real changes in your body pretty quickly. I have to psych myself up a little bit before I go but it's been worth it - when I started this stuff crushed me but I'm *noticeably* stronger and fitter than I was even a couple months ago. Also don't be self conscious about your fitness level, every class has both beginners and experts. Go once and then try it again, you'll see that you've already made progress.

I usually stay away from showering at the gym but you don't have to worry about that here) First day I run in with 2 minutes to spare, find my name, check in. Being a newbie, Mike helped me wrap my hands (thank you!!), passed me a pair of gloves (wraps & rentals come with the promo) and off I went. I thought "It's been a while since I've went to the gym & im out of shape but hey, the muscle memory will kick in. #lightwerk" BRUH. The class is held in a group setting, super fast paced and you just keep going at it. First warm ups and then you start practicing your punches. I was struggling but Greg walked me through how to do everything - the whole time the pace of the workout never stopped. Then came the glorious 5 minutes where we rested as he set up the room and explained how to do the different exercises - circuit style. You won't get bored because there's literally no time to be bored. My second class was with the fierce af Sonia and she also came around and walked me through proper form, never slowing down the pace of the class. Her arm workouts are crazy but maybe my traps and triceps will finally come out of hiding. My shirt was drenched after her 7am class. (I am NOTTTTTT a morning person but her class is worth waking up for) Honestly the best thing is that the instructors don't make you feel like crap when you struggle or need to fix something multiple times. They pay attention, step in when you need it, and definitely motivate/push you. I don't write reviews (this is my first one) but WTF is seriously dope af so go try it out It's been 2 days & my body is sore in places I didn't know could be sore AND IT HURTS SO GOOD SO YOULL DEFINITELY WANT TO COME BACK.

I loved the Pad Work class so much that I went a few days later once again. The workouts are tough, especially if you're not in shape and they'll have you sweating a few minutes into the class however I can't stress how worth it feels afterwards. I also really like that they allow drop-ins. Want to show up to a class later in the day? Ok! Don't want to go? No obligation to show up. I'll definitely be going again.

This review is long overdue. Five Points is undoubtedly one of the best Muay Thai gyms I've…read moreexperienced in the Tri-State area. Unlike many gyms where coaches are often distracted by their phones, Kru Steve and Kru Geo are actively engaged, constantly moving around to correct techniques. Whether you're hitting pads, bags, or sparring, they're there, ensuring your form is spot on. The drills and pad work they tailor for you aren't just for show; they're designed to be practical in real fights, focusing on technique rather than just cardio. When I first stepped into the gym, I was struck by how much attention the Kru's give to their students. Initially, I hesitated due to the membership cost, but the value is undeniable. Not only do you learn Muay Thai, but you also get training in judo, jiu-jitsu, and access to a full weight room. For anyone serious about self-defense or improving their fitness, it's worth every penny. Even the front desk staff are friendly and always willing to help with any questions. The atmosphere is incredibly positive; I always felt motivated there. Unfortunately, my job relocated me to Midtown, but if circumstances were different, I would still be a regular at Five Points. To anyone considering Muay Thai or fitness in general, I wholeheartedly recommend Five Points. The few months I spent there were unforgettable. I can't emphasize enough how unique it is to have coaches who actively observe and correct your training, which sets this gym apart from others. Also if anyone is new to sparring they go very technical and if you want to compete then the kru's will prepare you for that to, if you put the work in. Thank you to Geo and Steve for the incredible experience, and hopefully, I'll return soon!

It will make…read moreyou sweat a little (not like bootcamp or anything) and you will tone and sculpt, but the exercises are definitely more dance-oriented than workout-oriented. The music is also upbeat teeny-bopper dance jams. When you are doing the cardio portion, I guess you're suppose to gyrate your hips the entire time instead of trying to keep your core strong and in tact. Couldn't really get used to that in one class. The instructor was a young, energetic girl that sounded like she was 15 years old -- like a very bouncy cheerleader. Kinda cute but again, not my thing. She also doesn't really call out what she is doing like in a workout class but more so expects you to just watch and follow, so you don't really have cues on what is happening next. The mat work was actually pretty hard -- lots of small, centralized, repetitive movements. Basically, this place is a middle aged "manly" dad's version of hell on earth. Not for me, but drop the young ones off for a fun time.

Found Body Conceptions through ClassPass and the time of the class and location were the most convenient of my options, not to mention, the Yelp reviews were glowing. I showed up a little before class (as is customary when you're a new student at most places), but no waiver or the like was needed. I introduced myself to Erin, the lovely instructor, and she had two questions for me: Q: Do you have any injuries? A: Nope Q: Do you like to dance? A: Sure do The class was dictated by the music, every song change resulted in a new set of movements. There was some dancing, but I wouldn't call it a dance class. It's more like a jazzercise workout with modern music and authentic energy. Since it was my first time, I spent most of my time watching/following Erin and not necessarily giving the movements my all, but I can see if you went regularly how the workout would be more intense because you'd know what to expect. All parts of the body were tended to, with the ab portion on the sliding discs (for your feet) being especially brutal. Erin called out everyone in the class during the hour multiple times with accolades and encouragement, which I very much appreciate! If you like intense workouts where you walk out sweating, wanting to throw up/gorge on protein right after, and/or can't move the next day, this may not do it for you. But if you want your workout to be fun, a little whimsical but tough, and dance-oriented, you'll have a blast. Bring water and a towel!
