What a wonderful group of professionals! My father suffered from a neuroma on his left foot for 2…read more1/2 years until he finally got the medical care he needed at UC Davis. The physicians were conservative and had him work through a couple months of different therapeutic solutions until ultimately it was decided that he needed surgery. Post surgery his UC Davis doctor referred us to Scurti Orthotics. This family run business is professional, caring, and ethical. At his first appointment, they measured his foot then created a mold to make sure that the orthotics they were building were custom to his foot and concerns. My father also has a size 15 foot and has had difficulty his whole life finding footwear. He often has to send away mail order for his shoes. So, while we were at this appointment, he was able to try on several shoes, but ultimately placed an order for the right sizing in the colors that he wanted. They had him come back after they had built his customized orthotics and the shoes he ordered had arrived. His second appointment they fit him with the orthotics and the new shoes. On the first try he was still experiencing some discomfort so they made a minor change in their shop and brought it back out for him to try again. He slipped his foot in the shoes and it worked. All he could say as he was walking and smiling was "unbelievable". Thank you gentlemen you've made my Dad very happy and comfortable again.

He takes a great deal of time examining the client to gain a detailed understanding of what is needed to improve the quality of that person's life. His work has transformed the way. They turned what could have been a really bad situation into a highly acceptable and liveable life!! Follow-up visits are no problem and they are very responsive to e-mails and phone calls... Highly recommended by my medical team, and I can see why!

I've had a wonderful experience working with Kelsey, an orthotist at River City Orthotics in…read moreSacramento. I also found Michelle and the other office staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Before seeing Kelsey, I had pretty severe, continuous foot pain the past 2 + years. Physical therapy did help to reduce the pain, but the problem persisted. I'm not able to tolerate Ibuprofen or cortisone injections so the podiatrists and orthopedic doctors I saw were not able to help me without surgery which I really wanted to avoid. My only remaining option was to try custom orthotics and I'm so glad I did! Kelsey is very kind, knowledgeable, and is an excellent listener. She fitted me carefully and addressed my specific needs when customizing the orthotics in order to ensure proper alignment and comfort. She explained what needed to be done and why and gave me excellent advice re: how to use and" break in" the orthotics a little at a time. She was also happy to have me come back and continue to "tweak" the orthotics as I adjusted to them in order to get the optimal fit. Service was quick and the price was very reasonable. My husband and I were scheduled to take a trip out of the country so Kelsey worked me in quickly so that I would have the orthotics in time for our vacation. My feet have definitely improved and I am beyond grateful!

River City Prosthetics & Orthotics - Notice the heel built up from soft foam that now reaches up about 15 cm above where the previous brace ended. Impossible to wear dress shoe.

I had an appointment last year during April, he measured the boot and said that be 3 to 4 weeks. Granted it took seven weeks to be done. I went in and got the new boot and lo and behold it fit. But all of a sudden, the boot started rubbing on the right side of my shoe. I called them and I rescheduled for them to take a closer look at it. I went in and he said oh we can just shave it down on the right side and shave it down on the back. And I said OK. We did all of that and the boot still didn't fit, so he said " I'm gonna call the specialist and get back to you in about a week" 4 weeks went by and I finally got a call from the orthopedics. I'm sorry we're gonna have to do a whole new boot... this time it was August (still haven't fixed the original problem) it finally showed up, and there was problems from the get go. So again, we have to shave it down and that didn't fix the problem. So the doctor says, I'm gonna call my doctor friend and I'll get back to you in 3 to 4 weeks. Now it's the November, and finally, I have an appointment to fix the misalignment of the boot. We go in again, hoping that this would be the last time. Boy it was not. The boot didn't fit right, so I told them that and he said " OK I'm gonna reach out to a friend of mine with a different boot manufacturer and I'll get right back to you" four weeks transpired, and he says we're gonna switch to the new boot manufacturer based in Minneapolis... we're gonna need to do a third measurement. So we do the third measurement and he says it will be done in three weeks after the holidays. Perfect... then I get a call December 20 and my surprise it's more bad news. " apparently the boot broke and it's gonna be a month before they get to it because it's the holidays. I got a call from UC Davis and asked how's it going and I told them that the orthopedics that I was recommended to was a disaster. And he said " that doesn't surprise me, Hanger is the worst at that kind of stuff" long story short, I should've never gone to hanger. Worst company I have ever been with. Again, the only reason I give him three stars is the staff.
