I've been using this local pharmacy for years. The drugstore part of the store is kind of cluttered and clunky, but this review is for the actual pharmacy, which is very efficient and helpful. They've always managed my prescriptions and dealt with my insurance correctly and contacted me right away if there are issues. Even in the past when I've needed an unusual medication that they don't have in stock, they can always get it on order the next morning at the latest. Yes, it occasionally does get crowded at certain times of day (it's a small shop in a busy neighborhood), but I've rarely had to wait more than a few minutes. If supporting local small businesses is important to you, and you live in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, give them a chance. read more

I have been using this pharmacy for over 15 yrs..never had an issue...my son was preemee & this is the closest pharmacy that i could get his $20 formula from...they know me...was running late once & had to pick up a monthly prescription...lady behind the counter saw me hurrying to get there while the shutters were coming down & she waited for me to get there for my pick up. Okay so I'm sort of in the middle for this place. The place seems sketchy, how u order the medicine, etc. Which makes me nervous about ordering anything medically from them. Like, instead of asking your name, typing itto a computer, they kind of give you a scrap of paper, ask you to wrote down your info and take it the back. Also? CRAZY ex pensive stuff other than like medicine. I mean basic stuff like band aids, cough medicine even eye drops. The CHEAPEST eyedrops I could find for contacts was $10. They're usually for like $1-3. It's not necessarily a bad place, I'd just rather go elsewhere lol read more

First off, I want to address the person below me who reviewed this store and claimed that there are often twenty-minute waits. I have been here at least 10 times and I have never waited more than 5 minutes. Anywho, I switched to this Pharmacy after having spent months at the CVS on Nostrand Avenue. Not only did that CVS cause me a lot of stress but I prefer not to give my money to a big Corporation like that... and instead, I try to support local businesses. I believe that Thriftway is a franchise but it is small and local none the less. I would so much rather be giving my money to them than to CVS. The thing about this store that I think is kind of wonderful, and also telling, is the fact that they are on the first and last name basis with most of their regular clients, myself included. To me, that says so much. Additionally, I have never had a bad interaction with this pharmacies workers.. They may not be the type to go out of their way to smile and laugh with you but they get their job done and treat customers respectfully. I should add that this review is based purely on my experience with the actual prescription medicine part of the pharmacy. I have perused the store a little bit and it is a small store.. that being said, I wouldn't expect to find too much variety. read more

20+ minute wait lines here regularly. Even if there's no wait, the clerk at the counter might not even acknowledge you for 10 minutes. She might wait another 10 minutes after you make your presence known to put down her phone and complete your transaction. I'd rather go to the Wallgreens down the street or the Target. read more

Worse pharmacy ever, unprofessional staff, horrible experience with no manager to report your complaint to, the pharmacy is supposed to start serving the customer at 9:00 am and the lady pharmacist is being rude and informed me that the computer is not ready yet!!! And another day she told me don't come at 9:00 am and you keep searching for a manager and he is not available..I don't advice anyone to deal with this pharmacy, really the worse pharmacy is Brooklyn...nobody from Thriftway pharmacy management can be reachable to complaint about the unprofessional attitude of the staff..as a result i told my neighbors about their unprofessional attitudes and found that all people are having the same complaint and everybody shifted to another pharmacy to get a respectable treatment.... read more

Has a little of a lot of standard items. Your neighborhood pharmacy doesn't have many specialty items (like organic detergent) but pretty much most normal goods. read more
