The merchant: a bacon egg roll soaring to new heights.
    Lizzie K.

BF and I walked into this place and immediately spied the best table in the house- tucked away into a corner with a cushioned bench seat. A waiter made eye contact with us, and gestured toward the table with a grand flourish. Coming over to us with menus, he conspiratorially whispered, "Best seats in the house." Thus began our love affair with the Three Williams. At least one William of the Three who run this place has clearly been in the hospitality industry for a long time. First of all, they've actually got a hostess whose express purpose is to guide patrons to their table. They also have a veritable army of extremely capable and friendly staff members, so the service is speedy and cheerful. It's in a spacious, warehouse-y feeling underground space, encased in polished concrete to keep you nice and cool, with tables that are arranged so that you're not directly on top of the diners next to you. Fab coffee, fresh juice was a nice big serving, and the food... man oh man was that Merchant roll, already having been deliciously deconstructed by our very own fearless leader Benny B., ever awesome... all pickles and soft bun and runny yolk and salty bacon and more pickles... I never wanted it to end. BF's prawn "narnie"- made with house-crafted griddled naan bread- came with 5 juicy marinated grilled prawns, creamy aioli, crispy iceburg lettuce and a mountain of guacamole and sweet corn. Be warned: it's a messy work of edible art. He also ordered fish croquettes which he loved that came served in a cardboard egg crate- v cute preso. The worst part of our experience was leaving our awesome, cozy, comfy corner seats to go up and resist impulsively buying some freshly iced donuts cleverly positioned next to the cash register whilst paying our bill. At $42.50 for a coffee, juice, 2 fish croquettes, and 2 sandwiches, it's not cheap. But with that spacious venue, all of those staff members ensuring an enjoyable experience and the quality of the food served, I'd pay it any day. Like tomorrow. And the day after that.

Surprisingly no waiting time over here, I went on two different occasions for breakfast on a Saturday and Sunday. Saturday had a queue but well managed by a dedicated member of staff at the door. The Sunday on the other hand was pretty empty not even half-filled. None of that communal table business and bar seating here. Yes, you can have your own table. I don't know if some people actually enjoy those sharing huge tables but certainly don't. THE MERCHANT $13 Well prepared ingredients, classic bacon and egg roll but of course improved with a slight kick from the chilli and acidity and crunch of the slaw, all of that encased in a fresh brioche bun. BIG WILLIAM $18 Bacon, fried eggs, Nuremberg sausage, Roma tomato, hash, onion relish Almost the typical big breakfast, it was done to a high standard. The unique selling point here is the onion relish which is absolutely divine with the sweetness of the tomatoes. Big William is there to hit the spot and fill you up... SIGNATURE HOUSE MADE NARNIE $15 This one is a dilemma and I'll tell you why. All the elements are well excuted. Lots of textures but flavour-wise it was too simple and lacked moisture. If we go back to the origins of the naan, it is at its most delicious when dipped or even soaked in curry. Here the narnie was so dry in the mouth, the roast beef despite being very tender did add texture but lacked flavour and sauce. All those factor just made each bite so dry. FISH CROQUETTES, LEMON AIOLI $6 More potato than fish, very nice comfort food. BEER BATTERED CHIPS WITH HOUSE AIOLI $7 Chips were one of the best I ate all year, very crispy with a light aerated batter. Excellent and very addictive as they should be. PEANUT CARAMEL SHAKE $6 This shake is very good, the peanut taste is distinct with the caramel giving that sweetness kick. The most surprising thing is the size of the cup, at $6 only it can easily be shared by two people. BANANA, MEDIJOOL DATE AND WALNUT PRALINE SMOOTHIE $7 For the banana-lovers out there, this is a must. I would return just for this and the chips. Strong and natural tasting smoothie, great with the extra sweetness coming from the dates and extra thickness from the praline. Although I still prefer the Banana shake from Devon Cafe. Conclusion Do you want a high quality brekky/brunch with the luxury of your own table, you might want to give Three Williams a try. I still have to try the French Toast and Salads but overall strong menu that can please everyone and consistent execution makes this place worth revisiting for me. Just not a fan their "narnie" creation. @thesydneynoob

Not what I originally expected, the space is quite large and buzzing. Pretty sure there will always be a line here on the weekend, but I suppose it is the place to be in Redfern. Got a DIY dish because they're not flexible with changes on the weekend. I was actually quite surprised with the small portions because my friend had always instilled in me they serve really large, hearty portions. Had to order on top after it came out because it was disappointingly small. Overall it seemed like relatively standard café food to me but the beans were excellent. Would recommend you try them in a dish or even get them on the side. Constant stream of customers coming in so keeps the place alive, but they also don't hurry you too much to get out so it was a good place to chat for a while.

So on the way to carriageworks for the contemporary art fair, we decided to stop for lunch at three Williams. Best idea. There were a few tables available at 12.15pm on a Saturday - beware that it is a basement so you won't enjoy the sunshine/ light but the space is still quite nice. Service is so friendly, quick and efficient - love that. Oh my god the narnies (15$)...what a beautiful creation ! I had the slow cooked lamb with eggplants and yoghurt. The bread is moist, the lamb and eggplant were perfectly cooked, melting in my mouth...perfect cumin seasoning and fresh rocket for greens. It is absolutely a must try ! The breakfast menu looked really appealing too, notably the french toast if you have a sweet tooth

    Narnies. Trust me, go there.

I was here for a Yelp Elite event. Three Williams café has some funky and unique breakfast choices. Coffee was very good, and the smoothies others had looked tasty. It was a busy, but not too crowded, basement-level space, perfect for an event for the 15-ish of us, and the kind of place that's suitable for lingering if you're on your own. The food: delicious and interesting. There were two dishes to sample: narnies and French toast. A "narnie" is, as it turns out, naan bread wrapped around different fillings. We tried three: prawn and hummus (okay), pork bi bim bap (delicious), and beef brisket with coleslaw (also delicious). If you like a savoury breakfast these are amazing choices. You may think that French toast doesn't need explaining, but it does. Because this French toast was not only soft, plump, and flavourful, it was also breaded in corn flakes, pan-fried, and served with yogurt, fresh berries, maple syrup, and toasted pecans. It had all the gooey yumminess of French toast but with that crunchy outer crust, and the caramel tastes from the toasted nuts. It was decadent and fantastic for those who like to start their day with sweetness. Go here for thoughtful, well-crafted gourmet breakfast options you'll want to linger over.

Dope. This place is DOPE! Outfitted in a warehouse conversion, this place is bustling on the weekends...in a good way. There's plenty of space so the ambience is real cool. Service is great, everyone was super friendly and everything came quickly. I ordered the Bullhorn (I don't even like feta) and my friend ordered the Merchant. I like that they some of the menu items are standard in other places but they put their own spin on them. However, there are these fusion naan sandwiches (which I haven't seen elsewhere) that I am putting on my to eat list. The coffee was on point and props to the barista for the latte art. The menu here is extensive enough that I will definitely be coming back to try the other stuff. Gourmet brekkie done right.

*Came for the coffee and stayed for lunch* On my short list of cafes to try I get to tick it off and recommend away. Having no preconceived ideas about this place going in, I was surprised by the popularity of this cafe on a seemingly quiet end of Elizabeth Street. Being that they are another cafe using Single Origin Roasters coffee, I expected to get a decent coffee, and that's exactly what I got. While the waitress wasn't sure what coffee was their single origin, she quickly found out (and provided awesome service throughout my stay). The Costa Rica long black I ended up ordering was delicious. Quite a bright robust coffee, with hints of fruit and maybe a milk chocolate, it served its purpose well. I then tried the house blend, they use "Paradox" which worked well as a mac. I am sure those needing milk in their coffees will be happy enough. Nearly removed points for latte art in the mac, but I am feeling generous. Speaking of generous, the Korean inspired pulled pork "narnie", which is apparently their signature dish, didn't last long as I inhaled it. Pork was delicious, but could have had more kimchi in it as I couldn't taste it. Overall, I loved this cafe, and while it is a bit out of my way, I am sure I'll be back. Coffee: Single Origin Roasters - "Paradox" Passion: 8/10 Crema: 8/10

    Beef Brisket Narnie
    Naomi B.

Umm have you heard of a Narnie? I like to think that it was named that because something so great could only come from a mystical land like Narnia, whatever the origin...YOU MUST TRY ONE. It is a naan sandwich and the brisket one even comes with chipotle mayo...so just to let that percolate that is delicious naan surrounding tender brisket with savoury creamy chipotle mayo and crisp pickle slices....genius...and I don't just throw that word around for fun! Hungover, sober, hungry....all reasons to try a Narnie. I really like the beef brisket Narnie but really you can't go wrong. One time my housemate and I realised that it was almost cut off time when Three Williams stops serving nannies, AKA sadness o'clock, so we placed an order over the phone and they let us do that which I thought was excellent customer service.

    Santa blend picollo

"Would you like to order coffee first?" Asked the wait staff, I said yes please , single origin picollo 1 sugar. Where's the been from I asked? Let me checked! Then he comeback with barista showing Santa Special Creation blend , and I was taking advantage to take a picture right away, it was cool idea! I did order French brioche with berries and maple bacon, well it was rich.. I couldn't even finished my breaky. I would say this hipster place is doing great job on what they do! I would definitely comeback for some breakfast, and would like to try lunch menu

    A selection from our brekkie!

Attended this cafe for a Yelp Elite event and was blown away by the experience. First of all this cafe isn't located amongst a lot of hustle and bustle, it's a delightful warehouse conversion on Elizabeth street in Redfern- parking was a treat this Friday morning. The single origin coffee was beautifully presented and tasted great. The food was incredible! So totally unlike other cafes around, apparently it took some time brainstorming and working out what the signature items would be! We were treated to 2 of them! A sampler of 3 narnies (homemade dough with different fillings - each unique & it would be well worth coming with a few friends so you can taste them all! I didn't think I would be eating prawns at brekkie time but they were incredible). We were then served up the signature French toast which was described as brioche in a custard egg mixture & rolled in cornflakes. It was served with maple syrup, fresh berries & toasted pecans. Now I am usually not a sweet tooth and was sure I wouldn't eat it all but my oh my after a taste I couldn't stop. To top it off the staff were exceptional throughout the whole meal, checking in with us and making sure we were satisfied. Loved the aprons too! Very well presented. This place is truly fantastic! Humble, honest, delicious & worth the visit! Hurry up and get there before it gets so popular you will have to wait hours to be seated.

    Disappointing shrimp narnies.

Three Williams has been on the "Talk of the Town" chart on Urbanspoon for quite some time now, and it seemed like the whole of the Sydney foodie population had eaten there already. Even though their photogenic French toast was very impressive, unfortunately, the overall experience was a hit-and-miss for us.

    The Merchant :)

I found this place after a quick search on my favourite apps for inspiration. The raving reviews got me curious and I'm very glad to say the food didn't disappoint. The coffee was good and the food was better. I had The Merchant: bacon and chili eggs in a brioche bun. It wasn't huge, just on the edge of enough but the great taste makes it more than worth it - love at the first visit :) The Merchant, scrambled eggs with tomato and feta and two coffees cost $36.

Recommended by a friend's friend and decided to come here for brunch after church. My friend who stayed at King Cross arrived here 1/2 hour before I did but after I managed to save a parking spot, we finally got a seat for 5 pax. It was definitely crowded even though the space was considered spacious. Heard the sarnies was good and the toast as well. I tried the Sarnies and the Brioche French toast. For the sarnies, I got the beef one. It had a lot of ingredients in it. The stewed beef brisket was soft and juicy. The ingredients (gherkins) and the condiments (chipotle mayo) on it definitely added flavor to the pita bread which acted like a burger. Definitely a good brunch dish. For the drink, I had super smoothie. It was a cold pressed juice and it was definitely a refreshing juice and filling especially combining them with mains. Servers were friendly and they got to us within seconds after raising our hands (glass of water, bill, utensils, etc). Price wise, for the food portions, it was definitely reasonably good. Parking might be tough as I had to turn to the same road twice before securing a parking spot.
