The Experience Menu was full of great hits of 'modern Australian' with some Mediterranean twists. The oysters were a great start, and the steak was a highlight. Overall the price felt a little bit high but the quantity of food was generous. Service was the right mix of attentive without being intense, and the team were professional and nice. Large open plan seating area, with fun and loud buzz. We were seated in a corner which felt relatively private.

First time coming with a vegan friend and greatly appreciate the kitchens ability to make items vegan for them. These off menu dishes were given special attention with unique sauces etc. Too many places make vegan dishes dishes without flavor but as always Nomad rose above. Everything else this time around was what I would expect from my favorite restaurant in Sydney. Beautiful ambiance without being stuffy, excellent/attentive service, and delicious food.

Such a great find in the city. We only dined as 2 so we couldn't try as many dishes as we wanted, but we ended up settling on the charcuterie, empanadas, grilled trout in vine leaf, and spiced cauliflower. We were stuffed and could barely finish. The flavors were meshed so well and so interesting. Couldn't pick one we liked over the others. They cure their charcuterie in house. We really wanted the grilled baby octopus but they ran out literally as we were about to order it, so now we're craving it! We did not have room to try any desserts but the ones that walked by looked delicious!

It was very hard to get a same night reservation for 6 people on a friday night here. Good thing we had someone who knew them. Unfortunately, most of the dishes were very mediocre. Only the chicken tasted really good. Tender, moist, and very good flavors. Only the fish entree tasted very bad. Some spots of the fish were too well done and dry. They tried to put together many flavors and spices that didnt mesh well with the flavor n texture of how the fish was prepared. The restaurant is dark and hip/trendy. I feel that alot of their dishes the flavors didnt mesh well. They do use seasonal ingredients so perhaps the next seasonal menu will taste better.

Hohkay, Nomad... Superlatives? Every single one that the English language permits. Service? Attentive friendly smart informed tattooed. Food? Eclectic flavoursome generous special rich intelligent fulfilling. Space? Industrial shabby chic modern nonconformist open comfortable Wine? Stacks of great options by the glass and a Henty Chardonnay for my bushman brother. Mark chose a brilliant Mornington Pinot delicious Value? Didn't pay - don't know. Would need to be outrageously expensive before it could be said to be poor value and I know it wasn't. It could have been expensive and I would still rave. Rating? The easiest 5 stars I have given since Berta and Starfish. Must haves -charcuterie, churro, kingfish, carrots, bugs, pork Go

Alright people. Get to Nomad. Food is an inspiration. Wine list is just oh so special. The fit out and design is terribly gorgeous with a huge open plan design with the charm of the old building this restaurant sits within shouting out. Now before I get to the food let's talk about the service. They are new and green around the edges and that's ok for a restaurant open for a week :) But some simple things will make the service snappier. We were treated to complimentary wine when our drinks order was misplaced. Much appreciated! The food is a tapas style offering with this quirky fusion of Asian, Middle Eastern and European. We ate like kings and were genuinely surprised by every dish! Amazing design, service that has all the call signs of becoming exceptional and food that is fresh and unique. Get to Nomad before this place is booked out for months on end.

Amazing. Everything about this place is hip, refined, and hopefully made to last. I attended Esther's fiancé's birthday celebration and it could not have gone better, especially with a group as large as ours. I've never heard of Nomad, and I'm glad I hadn't because I didn't have any expectations. The vibe is really cool, and while you don't have to dress to impress I would cause I wouldn't feel right otherwise. I would definitely bring a date here. We were seated in the back and it felt like we were in our own little area, without having to talk over others or hear conversations from other tables. Acoustics are great here. The service was awesome, our waitress was very attentive, personable, and stopped by often, taking into consideration everyone's individual taste. The food from the "Feed Me" menu ($55) is a blend of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern tapas. I found myself saving some hummus on the side to dip with everything because it was pretty damn good. They have fresh sourdough made on sight that you can see them cutting in the back, which was next to our table. I really enjoyed the BBQ carrots (who knew carrots could taste so good,) the Haloumi and eggplant, and the fish. I'm not even a fish guy...make sure someone can fillet a fish though unless you like bones. I'd most definitely come again...especially before this place rightfully blows up.

I celebrated my birthday here and it's one of the best decisions I have ever made! Like converted warehouse, Nomad still provides a warm and inviting atmosphere. The tables arent too close to one another, so one can still have a decent conversation with your dining partners. And of course, I chose the premium chef's selection ($85 per person). Every course was well thought of, in terms of flavour combination and plating). Like a lot of fellow yelpers, my favourite courses include: Goat cheese churros - who would thought that goat cheese will go with churros! Duck & rabbit rillette - both meat shine through and the pickled pear completes the dish as it's refreshing and light. Just wish there were more brioche. Brussels sprouts (side) - O.M.G , I bet they put a lot of butter in this but it is doesnt matter. Worth every calorie! I can go on and on on how good every dish I had was sooooo good (except for lettuce salad [side], that was really sloppy, and tasted blend) . YOU YOU YOU just need to try it for yourself. Even though this restaurant is pretty big, I'm sure it's pretty packed everyday, so make sure you make an advanced reservation so you wont be disappointed. Great place for a date/ friends gathering/ special occasion celebration !

Beautiful spot for dinner in Surry Hills. They have a huge space and it seems to continue to pack out. They are big on the DIY and have the space to accommodate it. There is a glass case filled with hanging dried cured meats, and homemade cheeses being aged. They make their own bread from scratch as well. It's all so yummy and the extra love and time shows through in the menu. It's good for groups. I'm not sure how far in advance you need to give notice. We were able to get two spots at the bar on the weekend without a reservation, but there was a bit of a wait. Loved the Sourdough, Goat's Cheese Churros, Charcuterie board, Jersey Milk Haloumi, and Wood Roasted Pork. Recommend all of these.

Inside wasn't bad, the table was big and the chairs comfortable. We were waited on immediately. Servers fly around like dancers, it's actually pretty impressive. Our food arrived in no time. My wife had fish and chips and I had lamb and rosemary pie. She enjoyed her meal. Mine was different than I've had before. It was still ok but I wouldn't order it again. Others would probably like it, it just wasn't for me. We didn't have any dessert but as you walk in the door they have some wonderful looking pies and cakes. Do yourself a favor and save room for one of those. I messed up and didn't try something. This is actually a really cool restaurant that I would like to try again. I wouldn't let one dish that didn't hit my taste buds keep me away.

I had a couple of goals when visiting Australia... and one of them was to try kangaroo. The Rocks Cafe delivers with their Kangaroo Filet! And you can get it gluten-free! The sauce is a bit rich for me, but you can brush some of the sauce off with your fork. If kangaroo is not your thing, then there are plenty of other options on the menu... and the crowd around us all looked pleased with their orders. After you are done with your meal, you just go to the front/reception area and pay your bill. Easy peasy! Overall rating: ****FOUR STARS**** Gluten-free rating: ****FOUR STARS****

On the third morning of our stay, we were looking for an early-open breakfast eatery or coffee shop…read morebecause we wanted breakfast but not to stuff ourselves before our late lunch at the Sydney Opera House's Bennelong restaurant. Our hotel's concierge suggested we look into breakfast eateries or a bakery at nearby Barangaroo wharf and pointed us two blocks down on Sussex Street, where we stumbled upon Wild Sage. Walking up to their patio dining area, we were greeted by a friendly young man who offered us a choice between patio and indoor seating and provided menus. We chose to dine outdoors to enjoy the beautiful sunny weather and cool yet comfortable temperature. After being seated, the young man, brought us glasses of chilled water while we waited for the server to take our morning beverage and breakfast orders. Our cheery server, Marissa, came by shortly after delivering another table's order and we were ready to order right away. FOOD & BEVERAGE: -Sticky Chai Tea: I requested the chai tea as its blend of natural spices with soy milk appealed to me on this slightly chilly morning. As I poured the steamy steeping hot chai tea through the strainer into the glass, its full aromas wafted towards me as I "aerated" or pulled the tea. $8.50 AUD -Proscuitto Toastie: Triple cheese (Gruyere, mozzarella, & scamorza), sliced proscuitto, truffle bechamel, & pickles on soy linseedsourdough. Although we're slightly lactose-intolerant, my husband decided to order this "upscale" ham and cheese sandwich. It was so rich in flavors and textures that he could only eat half the portion even though he was tempted to finish both sandwich halves. Notably, the toasted sourdough's crisp, crunchy, exterior and warm chewy interior tasted of caramelization and nuttiness. Its tangy sourness offered a savory balance to the creamy, slightly nutty and sweet scamorza and mozzarella cheeses. The creamy cheeses balanced the savory saltiness from the proscuitto and Gruyere. $24 AUD -Truffle Mushroom Toast: I selected this open faced toasted sourdough sandwich which was generously topped with roasted mixed mushrooms, confit garlic and truffle butter, thyme, goat cheese, crispy leeks, and poached eggs. The roasted mixed mushrooms flavors were enhanced "just right" with the truffle butter without being overpowered. This vegetarian sandwich was protein-packed, filling, and very flavorful. $26 AUD We took our time over breakfast while discussing our Sydney exploration plans at this clean, bright, and friendly cafe. It's too bad we didn't have more time in Sydney to return for more but, isn't that the dilemma while traveling? "Too many restaurants, too little time."
