Super busy here even during the week so make sure to allow time for seating. But we soon found out why there is a typical wait... Ricotta hotcakes Don't taste the cheese component at all. These are thicker than usual American pancakes, super fluffy and warm. Tastes great. Comes with banana slices, strawberries and honeycomb butter. Sweet corn fritters Roast tomato, spinach and avocado salsa, not as sweet as I was anticipating and needed some salt, which I don't say too often. Full Aussie Scrambled eggs, cumin roast tomato, herbed garlic mushrooms, pork, chili and fennel sausage, bacon, Iggy sourdough toast. Quite reminiscent of a traditional English breakfast, the most different being the scrambled eggs which looks like a pile of goopy mayonnaise but tastes good - like steamed egg whites. The bread is excellent and seems to be part of most dishes. The portion size is not that large and can easily be consumed by one person. Mocha Tastes normal but at the bottoms the chocolate bits accumulate and don't melt. Sort of like sediment for an aged hot chocolate. Didn't know what to make of that. Highly recommend this as a breakfast or brunch option. Service is friendly and prompt. That is it.

    Flat white...so good

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Bills. Came in after watching the sunrise down at Bondi beach. Service was top notch and I felt everyone I talked to enjoyed their job. I had the Poached Eggs, Potato And Feta Rösti, with Gravlax And Dill along with pickled cucumbers. I also enjoyed a perfectly prepared flat white. Everything tasted wonderfully. A definite 5 star visit!

I was sold for their authentic Aussie breakfast they offered for brunch. There was a long line but somehow I was offered a table al fresco. I happily obliged since it was such a beautiful day. The Aussie breakfast is similar to an English breakfast, minus the beans. The scrambled eggs, delicious! The puffy and creaminess to the eggs were similar to the omelette in NYC Prune cafe, but not as yellow. I love the grilled tomatoes & mushrooms, delish! A large flat white was what I needed to get myself out of jet lag. I did just arrived yesterday.

I recently ate here again after a year and a half gap between visits. The coffee is amazing. The service was a little full on as soon as we sat, with three people asking if we would like to order literally before we had properly sat down. It was quiet so this wasn't so confusing. We were then almost ignored for 25 minutes by the three people we had spoken to as we arrived. We were then given a like warm bottle of drinking water. I could see chilled bottles on other tables. We eventually were served by an all round Aussie bloke who was phenomenal and friendly, and very attentive. We had a savoy breakfast and a ricotta pancakes. The pancakes were nowhere near as good as they used to be as I used to frequent this Bills every weekend when I lived there. The fresh juice was fantastic, however my almond chai latte was really not very good. A mixed review. Unsure if I'll return.

Was very excited to try this place! The breakfast was unique and the flavors were very different and tasty. I would recommend going outside your comfort zone to try the salmon toast with grapefruit.

Came here for lunch recently, and the food was delicious! They have a section that is all day breakfast, which I greatly appreciate, as well as having separate breakfast and lunch options. All the food on the menu looked delicious, as well as the food when they were brought out. Would recommend the hot cakes, the corn fritters and the linguine! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, but were a little bit slow on service, perhaps because it was quite busy when we went. We also had to wait quite a while to be seated, as the restaurant is at decreased capacity due to the restrictions, but the café seemed clean and sanitised. The food is a little bit pricier than some other cafés, but still a great option for a Bondi brunch.

This is a great example of a fine dining experience. I was welcomed as soon as I walked in. It's tastefully decorated so you feel cozy like you're in your own home. I liked the kindness of the server. Just made you feel comfortable and very attentive. I got the ricotta hot cakes. They did not disappoint! So fluffy and delicious. With chips of butter that melt on top. What a treat.

I've been to the Bill's in Surry Hills a couple times and always thought it was just OK, nothing spectacular. Well I'll be damned, the Bondi version of Bill's is quite spectacular. I've been here for lunch and dinner now and each time I've come away impressed, since I never really had any expectations in the first place. Service is great, and the crowd here is pretty eclectic, ranging from surfer blokes to suits, so you get an interesting vibe. For lunch I've had the pork belly burger, the corn fritters, and the korean fried chicken. Delicious. For dinner my friends and I didn't recognise some of the ingredients on the menu and came away surprised by some of the dishes. We ordered 3, and noticed most dishes are on the healthy side. The kale linguini/brocollini is AWESOME...totally unexpected, and totally awesome. The salmon with noodles is also delicious, with the roasted salmon tender and tasty. The pork belly was not what we expected at all, it's kind of korean bbq style where you wrap it in lettuce wraps and without any crackling. Out of the 3 dishes we ordered it was my least favourite, but it wasn't bad by any means, just not what we expected. All in all a great new addition to Bondi for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I would love to try all the items on the menu now.

When I told my NSW-born husband that I had gone to breakfast at Bills he laughed at me and said that is where people had brunch in the 90s. I think he was over exaggerating a little, but it did define that Bills has that 'brunch institution' thing going for it. Everyone goes there because it was one of the first to do interesting breakfasts, and also won't bat an eyelid at paying $25+ for breakfast. The food is tasty and their corn fritters and hotcakes have a bit of a following in Sydney. I enjoyed my corn fritters but they were as good as any I've had and definitely not the best. Coffee was ok but the staff knew nothing about it. They serve both espresso and filter, although on enquiring about a filter our waitress told me "we don't do that". When I questioned why they had 3 x v60 cones at the front she said "that's for pour over". Ok. So if you're into filter coffee, ask for a pour over! Definitely one of the better places for brunch in Bondi, but still a bit pricy/lacking in service for a 5 star rating. Probably one I would recommend checking out for lunch or dinner for better value.

There's a reason why this place is always packed! The staff were very friendly and attentive. The hot cakes are a must! Good coffee and drinks as well. Don't forget to leave room for some dessert!!

Pork Belly & Calamari & prawn Omelette.
    Conor D.

Walking past the restaurant it gives the impression of stylish dining at no doubt stylish pricing but when you look at the prices they are very fair and reasonable and makes you think let's try it. We decided to go with Calamari small dish then Pulled Pork and a prawn Omlette with a side of herbed fries. The Calamari was delicious and mixed well with a squeeze of lime. The omelette was very bland in flavour and disappointing. Was a dish you would be upset with if you ordered but luckily we were all sharing . The prawns were the nicest part of the dish . The BBQ pulled pork was a culinary delight . The dish came with lettuce and peanuts and was meant for eating as a wrap. The crunch of the lettuce provided intense flavours and just kept you wanting more and more. This was the best dish of the lot. Overall the staff were very friendly and gave good recommendations on food selections and told stories about the history of the company . Good dining experience :)

    Broken eggs plate

Along with hordes of others, we headed down to Bills at Bondi for a relaxed Sunday brunch. They don't take bookings, and when we rocked up around 9.45am there was already a backlog of people waiting for tables - the manager was helpful though, taking our name and telling us there would be a 20 minute wait. Can't fault the place for being popular! We wandered down to the beach in the meantime before returning back to take our table. We did have to wait another 15 mins, making it 35 in total - but to their credit, once we'd taken our seats the staff didn't make us feel at all rushed, and provided good service even though they were clearly busy. The food is simply great. I had the broken egg plate, with ricotta, chilli, spinach and sourdough toast, and let me tell you it was some of the best eggs I've tasted. Coming from a vegetarian that's pretty high praise! The ricotta made the dish beautifully creamy, and aside from needing a touch more chilli I couldn't fault the food. The service does have a little room for improvement - my drink arrived after my food - but the staff were all very friendly and helpful, with a nice helping of eye candy to boot (which is perhaps partly why the clientele is predominant yummy mummies and beautiful girls?). The toilets, incidentally, are also beautiful - I'll let you decide whether that's important for a brunch venue, but overall Bills is well worth a visit and I would definitely return.

Tracey and I were grabbing some shopping and just wanted a quick something. Having never noticed 22 Grams before (Tracey: "but I walk past here all the time!") the organic homely tables and golden flaky pastries on display beckoned us inside. With poetry written on the mauve walls and cushions and stools adorned the room, I ordered their soup of the day, a chicken, vege and barley soup, and their special bruschetta of smoked salmon with cream cheese, capers, lemon and dill. Both served with rye bread, the soup was a ready-to-eat temperature straight from the kitchen, light and easy to eat as expected from any broth based soup. The bruschetta was exactly is it should be: fresh and light and the bread soft enough to easily bite through but firm enough to hold everything on top. Tracey opted for a skinny latte and my two mouthfuls revealed a very smooth blend and milk of the perfect density. If I was heading to work where I can make myself one for free, I would have chosen to grab one as well. With Eric Clapton crooning in the background of the naturally lit cafe, it was just the break we needed before continuing our day.
