This review is for one of their tiny houses, The Forest. I've spent time in a few different tiny houses with similar set ups (bed lofted above the kitchen), and The Forest isn't much different. The kitchen is equipped with a hot plate, microwave/oven, toaster, coffee pot, and full sized fridge - for us this got the job done and we were able to prepare a full spaghetti dinner and breakfast in the morning (the restaurant was closed for the season). The bathroom is a full bathroom, although of course tight on space, and the shower water pressure felt uh-mazing after a full day of hiking in the Hoh rain forest. Be aware that they have a small hot water tank and allow for time between showers/dishes for the water to heat back up. Overall this was a good one night stay for us as we headed down the coast into Portland. I'd recommend again.

Bathroom very small..prolly about 4 feet from the door to the toilet and about 3-4 feet across in the stall

We stopped for lunch, not many options and this one was a winner. We both had the Sol Duc Hot Dog. The chips and fries made fresh.

The cabin is cozy, clean and very comfortable. The owners are friendly and welcoming, and I will go back each time I stay here.

Whenever we make a trip to Forks we make it a point to get food here. Seriously the best. Made fresh and their milkshakes are to die for!

Is there fire pits in every tent site?

Yes, there are fire pits in every site. However due to unusually dry, hot summers the last few years. The county fire marshal implemented fire bans during those months for those years. When total fire bans are put in place, then the only outdoor… Read more

The first thing our littles…read moredid was climb the super tall trees! 10 years later, and we stayed in the same spot we reserved and the first thing our (now ) teenagers did- climb the super tall trees! I got a little emotional as I recalled them being so small, and cut to now, how fast time flew. Their memories of this place were so fond. We checked off a bucket list item though- we told ourselves that the next time we come back, we'd have a bonfire on the beach and that's exactly what we did! We stayed out until 11 at night on the beach and it was pretty dark! Core memories made. We will definitely return and it won't be in 10 years, more like 2. We love you, Kalaloch!!!

A park ranger is on hand to answer any questions that you may have. Kalaloch and Ruby Beach are located on the southwest coast of the Olympic Peninsula right off the 101. This is one of the most visited areas of Olympic National Park. Kalaloch Campground is one of the only places for camping on the southern coast of Olympic National Park. There are over 170 campsites that have a picnic table and fire ring. Make sure you reserve early as they fill up quick during the summer season. Kalaloch Lodge is also located right by the beach and has rooms and cabins available. Kalaloch Beach is a great place for tidepooling and bird watching. I enjoyed a short stay here. I was able to walk on the beach and take in some fresh air after being in the car all day. Nearby is the Tree of Life spruce tree if you want to check that out. Just follow the Kalaloch Beach Nature Trail from the Kalaloch Campground parking lot. Once you are on the beach, it is a short walk away.

Firstly, several of these reviews are for the wrong hot springs. If a review mentions a restaurant,…read moreor a resort, or a time slot, they are referring to the SOL DUC hot springs, not these ones. Also, the reviews that mention that the hike is easy are all outdated! It's a slog to get there! The Olympic hot springs are a 12 mile hike mostly uphill. It used to be a much shorter hike but about five years ago the road washed out and you now have to hike an extra 8 miles... 12 miles total... one way. It's a slog! The springs themselves, while pretty, are shallow, muddy, slimy, and overall pretty gross. The signs warn of fecal bacteria. If you're hoping to hike 12 miles to soak in pristine pools, think again. Nudity is common. If anyone is actually using the hot springs, they will likely be nude. Get over it!! Let the nudists have their place... and 12 miles deep in the woods is a nice place to be nude. You might also see nudists hiking or biking on the trail to the hot springs. It's not common but does happen occasionally. Just smile and say hi! The hike starts off easy on a paved road for about 3/4 of a mile. Then you have to use a single-track dirt bypass trail that is steep and rooty. If you're using a bike you'll be pushing and carrying it over things. Then you're put back on an old paved road again. It's another 2 miles to the Glines Canyon overlook which is fun to see. Then it's another 5 miles on the same road, but now 100% uphill and sometimes steep, just to reach the trailhead. Once at the trailhead, you're already over 8 miles into it and you have another 2.5 or so to hike... bikes not allowed. You have to park at the Madison Falls parking lot. You're supposed to have a National Park pass.
