This place is a backpackers delight and savvy campers safe space.
If you are older/less nimble, recommend a camp space in the field, as the sides to the river are kind of steep, but nothing an avid hiker/camper can't handle.
If you are looking for a gentrified campground, do not stay here. Instagram model campers, need not apply.
However, if you are looking for a minimalist vibe with hidden treasures, this is your space. This is a working man's space. Camping for those who really enjoy needing very little to make that awesome experience happen. Dylan is doting and kind, and a hard working man. He is continuing to develop the campground in the fields, and has a bit of a collection going on at his space, but don't be fooled; the campground is literally on the river! There are sails put up to keep the hot sun and rain off the campsites that aren't under trees by the river (there are only a couple). There are some very primitive sites in the field, but it is all apart of the experience if you end up there.
Dylan literally let me babysit his puppy for 4 hours (he was working and needed someone to take care of him). It was super cool!
The Tippis are awesome and you can check em out after campers have left for the morning, we will be coming back to stay in one of those!
The shower is hot and the toilet is an old RV toilet, both up on a platform (that clearly, for those that know something) is plumbed appropriately. if you are used to peeing outside(often like tiny home livers), it's a treasure trove!
Don't listen to Sarah G. I stayed at a campground for 40$, on a river, that had no tree cover, stared into an RV campground, and the fire pit sucked. 32$ for something like this is pretty amazing for the area. Dylan even helped me look for my phone at midnight! This is a place worth supporting.
Diamond in the rough is a pretty good term for this place. So, never judge a book by its cover, you may miss out on some seriously gorgeous spaces.
