Tuesday night in Greystones and I have got visitors from the states to entertain, so where to go?
Have tried all the local hostelries but wanted something different, so based on a conversation with my mate Alan how raved about this place I decided to book a table.
I know the place quiet well in terms of location and had mistaken the place as another coffee shop due tp it's frontage on the main street, where one does coffee in the morning and afternoons. Decided to checkout the menu which I have placed in the web address as they don't appear to have a web site. Just reading the menu made me salivate, great combination's and selection.
Anyway got there at 7pm as a party of 6. The place is small and holds about 30. Greeted by smiling pleasant Irish staff an novelty nowadays. The starters were amazing, so much so, we all started sharing around the table and each one was a winner in it's own right. The main courses were just as amazing and my American relations complimented it as the best meal they had on their stay in the UK and Ireland and coming from them this was a real compliment. The main courses deserve a single writeup in their own right but just look at the menu online, it is diverse and inspired and tastes wonderful. It may sound like nouvelle cuisine but I can guarantee the portions are anything but, try their hand cut chips as a side order. Another great thing is the dishes are classified v=vegetarian and Gf Gluten free unfortunately there was no vegan option.
Prices were very reasonable at €21.95 for a starter and Main. Deserts were from €4-6 and good selection of wines. Our meal for 6 including deserts wine (Bottle of Merlot and an Organic white wine, coffee and a port including the 15% service charge was €245 average of €41.00 per head which was excellent value for the quality of food and the service.
The conversation about the quality of the meal went on the next day so I can't wait to get back by myself and start going through the menu.
