Quick service, friendly staff & lots of Jazz music!! Drink menu has something for everyone. I enjoyed the summer muse that is light & refreshing with reasonable pricing!!

The only way to get a table is to order something from their menu. The other option is bar seating. The bar was full when we arrived on Saturday 7:30 December 7th. We wanted to sit so we ordered the chocolate bread pudding. They were out of ice cream, which it usually comes with it. It was rich and warm, it would have been better with ice cream, but it was still good. It was worth it just to get a seat. The vibe was enthusiastic and upbeat. I highly Reccomend the Three Muses.

Live music at this venue was fantastic!! We heard the Orphaned Storyline band - very entertaining, talented, and fun! Food came out quick and service was good, jazz club vibes. We loved the cauliflower bites with the spicy Korean Gochujang sauce but the chicken rice bowl was underwhelming, I did not like the seasoning of chicken. You're likely better off with the Bulgogi Bowl instead. The muse fries were undercooked and very litely seasoned. They were decent with Louisiana hot sauce and ketchup but nothing special.

Didn't try the food, but Three Muses is an under 21 friendly jazz club with music daily. My 17 year old son and I went twice while in New Orleans, and we enjoyed the music, the laid back ambience, the attentive and friendly service, and the strong mixed drinks (for me). I would be happy to attend even if I were not accompanied by a minor. Go and enjoy!

Was a bit wary of checking this place out because some of the reviews but so glad we went in, was so worth it. Friendly and attentive service, tasty drinks and the good food. All the plates were a good size. The gumbo was nice and spicy, the chicken sandwich was YUMMMMM and the red beans and rice was "f**king incredible" to quote my dinner companion. Heads up, if you're a person that likes a "little spice", this is much more than that so order accordingly. We started with fries along with our drinks and they were equally delicious (you gotta like perfectly fried fries). The trio that was playing was very good with a nice vibe with an amazing sounding Markbass amp.

We loved this place. We needed a late lunch after a long day of walking around, and wow! We were so satisfied. The drinks were outstanding - fancy cocktail bar worthy but in an approachable setting. The musicians were talented and the service was friendly. If I was a local, this would be in the regular rotation.

We LOVED watching The Slick Skillet Serenaders. The bar is so intimate and cozy with plenty of seating. One drink minimum per set and just a total chill vibe. Exactly what we were looking for on Frenchmen Street. The musicians are wonderful and super talented.

Had dinner here on a weekday night because we saw the live band from the street. The food was a bit disappointing, particularly The bulgogi bowl. The meat was very hard to chew, and it really wasn't authentic. The fries as appetizers were way too salty. Our waitress was patient and nice though. The band was pretty good. They went around to every table and asked for tips after each of their sets, which was a little disrupting. At least they had clean and spacious bathrooms. Overall, the food wasn't great. I'd probably only recommend ordering drinks and listening to the band.

On a recent trip to NOLA, we decided to try Three Muses (May 18, 2025). I had read that the restaurant was accommodating for us Celiac folks. In fact, the hostess outside the door assured me the night before that they would completely accommodate my need if we came back. But I am not convinced that they did. They tried. Anyway, we had a good meal, enjoyed the music, and I didn't get sick (surprisingly). First the good: The music was awesome. That night, we heard Betty Shirley and her combo. They were stellar! Real jazz and not ear-splittingly loud like some of the other venues. Our server didn't know what they had that was gluten free, but he did go back and check for me. I wound up with about the only option which was the Jazzy Chicken Wings with no sauce. They only have one fryer, so there was cross-contamination. The server (Bryan) was great to check on that for me. I'm still puzzled why the Still Rose Wine was not pink and tasted like Chardonnay. I didn't bother him with it because I already felt like I was enough trouble with my gluten issue. My husband loved his Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich. The atmosphere was cozy and very "jazzy." So here's what bothered both of us: In this day and age, you need to have at least two completely gluten free options on your menu. Almost every other restaurant does...even in New Orleans! Next, not only do they charge a live music fee of $3/person (totally fine and expected), but to also automatically charge 20% gratuity for "parties of 1 or larger" (as stated on the menu and bill) is shocking! We always tip 20% and then more if we are exceptionally impressed; however, we know people who tip 0%. Fortunately, the service was great! We even forgot something at the table and Bryan held onto it for us when we came to get it the next day. Thanks, Bryan! Unfortunately, I won't be back because it's just not worth risking a gluten response. Fix that, and we would come back on our next trip.

Great music with a cozy environment. My only complaint is some of the seats in the back don't have a decent view of the artists. Spent a good amount of time enjoying the live music assortment that they had and slowly consuming fries and some smaller dishes. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quieter vibe

We wandered into the Three Muses while exploring Frenchman St after finishing our tattoos at the Electric Ladyland shop. We were encouraged to go in to Three Muses by my what appeared to be, a local gentleman sitting outside touting about their food offerings. Unfortunately, they were not serving hot food at that time but we did sample the drink menu...it was sparse due to the staff not knowing where to locate all the necessary ingredients for all the cocktails on their menu but I lucked out and they had what was needed for the signature martini I longed for as well as for my husbands go to, Long Island. Both were good! Strong and tasty. Cute establishment, great art on the walls and they have live music in the evenings

Awesome Korean food on menu-female owner is Korean and it's the real deal. She's doing what she knows with Family recipes. Oh yeah- The Music is the best of local traditional swinging jazz featuring the best local talent!

While I'm New Orleans I wanted to have one "band in a restaurant" dining experience and so I made reservations here (deposit required on Tock). We had to wait a few minutes to get seated and quite a few folks were told there was a long wait for a table, so if you have your heart set on dining here I would definitely make a reservation. We were seated at the high tops near the back of the intimate restaurant and there was a clarinet/saxophonist and piano duo entertaining us for the evening. We both started with a cocktail which we both loved, and shared the pork buns which were really good. I decided on the Banh mi sandwich and my bf had the noodle soup. I didn't get to try any of his but I really liked the sandwich. The seasoning on the fries is different but tasty, and they went well with the sandwich and the aioli (which I usually don't like with fries). The service was great and the music was the perfect backdrop to the meal. They do have a small menu and you won't find any traditional New Orleans fare on it, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

It started the moment we walked in. Glancing at the hostess, asking "OK to sit at the bar?", getting a nod, sitting down. An experience we've done in hundreds of restaurants. (We had reservations for a table but often prefer the bar.) The bartender -- whom we believe was named Mike -- started off his interaction with new customers as follows. "Did you check with the hostess?" I nodded in the affirmative, apparently that wasn't enough. "Check with the hostess", he ordered. I got up, went over the hostess stand, and confirmed, this time so "Mike" could see, that it was OK for us to sit at a half-empty bar. (In retrospect, we should have gotten up and walked out immediately, but it was late and even in the Quarter most places were closing for dinner.) You see, Mike clearly didn't want to be working that night. He was rude, inattentive, and condescending. And not just to us, to everyone seated at the bar. Slow making drinks, slow asking for orders, seething contempt for his customers. One time we asked to see a drink menu to decide on a new drink, he said, and this is a direct quote, "Do you want to see it or do you want to review it?" Mike's behavior was clearly well-known to the staff, because another staff member, who was off-shift and next to us at the bar, witnessed this behavior and arranged for a free dessert on the house (classy move on her part). She confided in us that Mike's pretty much always like that, but that he's a buddy of the general manager so seemingly un-fireable. Well, here's hoping someone reads this and thinks the better of Doris Metropolitan, or at least sitting at the bar. Unless you think service you'd get in a Paris tourist trap cafe is appropriate for a high-end steakhouse, you're better off spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

My wife and I visited on our first NoLa trip together about 4 years ago and make it a point to go every time now. Our first time we stopped in for lunch at the bar and had an excellent experience, and decided to return. We came back on the next trip just to grab a drink and a snack before heading down for dinner in the Bywater. The bartender (Chris) gave a bunch of recommendations for places to visit that way, all of which we have done in the past few trips and have loved. But it's this past trip where we were truly blown away. We were in town for JazzFest and after walking back to the French Quarter, we were thinking about food options and decided to take a gamble to see if we could get a seat at the bar or maybe grab a drink for the road before getting food somewhere else. The bar was full when we got there around 8/8:15, but they had a no show and could serve us, as long as we ordered quickly and were ok with the check hitting the table right at 9PM. Given our slightly (perhaps generous) inebriated state from being at the festival all day and being slightly underdressed, we felt this was quite a kind accommodation. With the clear expectations of needing to get our orders in quickly, we wasted no time making a decision on our drinks and a few food options. Despite this need for a quick turn around, at no time did we feel rushed. The food and drinks were absolutely perfect, as they always are. But what impressed us most was the staff. At no point did the hostess or wait staff seem annoyed by us, despite us parachuting in from a music festival and looking like sunburn and poor decisions. By managing expectations on the front end, we never felt rushed despite the need for a quick turn around. They were all lovely, professional, and as cordial as if we were regulars with standing reservations once a week. In terms of atmosphere, it is always perfect: lively and fun for a date night, dinner with friends/family, or just a nice drink before a night out and about. I truly cannot begin to explain how much I love this restaurant and every experience I've had there. The awards and accolades this establishment (a sincere and lofty term Jewel of the South truly deserves) have been awarded are beyond well earned. Restaurants around the country should aspire to provide the quality of food, service, and overall hospitality Jewel of the South provides on a regular basis. It will continue to be our first and foremost recommendation to anyone we know who is going to New Orleans. Bravo! We shall return!

Salads, grilled quid, pork chops, scallops, various veggies (crispy brussels sprouts, caramelized leeks, charrted broccolini, roasted mushrooms). I would gladly return for some of these delicious selections.

Elysian was on our list of places to try since we're within walking distance. It took a few tries…read moreto get in through RESY, but overall, I would revisit again and maybe try breakfast. Dinner was good, but probably would have been great had the service been better. (The manager and the server apologized, and if we had more time were willing to comp a meal if we could revisit. Unfortunately, we were leaving the next day, so they did the next best thing: they comped almost half of our bill. WELL DONE!) The restaurant is very inviting with parlors and an atrium. The tables are spaced well apart for noise and a possible romantic dinner/Breakfast. :-) Once seated, the server was working very hard but found us. (They may have been short since the jazz festival was in town) She took our drink orders, which arrived quickly. She explained the menu and let us think about our choice. The drinks were Flaura and Fauna, and Ballad Inventory. Both were unique and tasty. When our server returned, we ordered all of our items. We ordered Chicken under a brick and Braised Short Ribs for entrees. We ordered Roasted Mushrooms, Charred Broccoli, and Dinner Rolls. The Kitchen fell short in timing as rolls arrived at the end of our meal, and a few dishes were lukewarm at best. When refired, they were very good. ( See above) The meal itself and the surroundings were good. At the end of our meal, the manager and the server came over and apologized and told us they would be talking to the team. When the bill arrived, the manager had comped more than half of our total bill *( drinks, bread, mushrooms... $ 168 to $85). We didn't expect this, but it shows how much they care to make things right with customers. Elysian Bar and Restaurant is worth visiting, and you should visit for dinner or breakfast. ,
