I've been here for an after-dinner drink, and you can grab a seat on your own, there are games scattered around the bar for you to grab. The British food menu is still being worked on, so some items weren't available yet but we did try was a wonderful little corn bite with a nice Guinness gravy. The gravy was good enough that my friend managed to drink it all even after the corn bites were gone. When one of the kegs kicked, they gave us the glasses for free. Christina, our server, had a great sense of dry humor I complimented the beers on tap and the whole atmosphere in the restaurant. Lots of TVs for people to watch the various different games. We were the last ones there on a Wednesday night, but they still pretty happily served us and were there even after we left. We will definitely have to come and try the other food when it's ready, particularly that pint of bacon! read more

Two stars for very sub par food quality. The bartender was the only one there so he had the wait tables and tend bar at same time. Hats off to him and his pleasant/quirky personality, which was the ONLY reason I left him a tip. As for the food?..... consider going elsewhere to dine. Just look at the pics, the Cod was like putting a hockey puck in my mouth and trying to eat it. No joke. $15 for the two overcooked piece's of cod and fries. read more

Haven't been to this place in a couple years, and found it has gone seriously downhill. Arrived to find a staff of overweight girls, no uniforms, ponytails and t-shirts, with little sense of urgency. Cook had the back door propped open, which explains the flies everywhere. Ordered the poutine appetizer... the cheese curds were cold inside. When they put the food up at the pass, there are no heat lamps. Food was completely average, which is too bad because there's no other place in town with British fare. Final ticket price was TOO MUCH considering food quality, which explains why they were DEAD on a Friday at dinner time. This was my father's choice. Whenever my parents pick out one of "their" choices to go hit, I always cringe a bit, as those frequently never quite live up to the hype. Case in point, this place. It is patterned loosely after a British pub and hits a lot of those grace notes well, though the table décor with the endless bottle caps was a touch on the tacky side. Still, no issues at all there. Pretty solid selection of beers and wait staff was great. All to the good. On the food side, though...sure, pubs are not known for great cuisine most of the time and a lot of it is to soak up booze after a swilling session, but without a heavy presence thereof, it doesn't stand up well. A small bowl of beer cheese (soup?) came out to dip 2 (!) small pretzel rods in. For the price of that appetizer, that should be double and for that quantity of cheese, they could have just given us a pretzel rod for every person there. That appetizer made no sense. Pickle fries were ok. This is a trendy dish, so we see it in a lot of places, but it is distinctly not a UK thing at all. The inclusion here was odd and this was not one of the better versions. I had the corned beef sandwich, trying to err on the side of stuff they might be (and probably should be) good at. The rye bread was pretty solid. Very nice heft to that. Flavor was a touch unsatisfying, but the corned beef should be the star here. Once I removed the awful sauerkraut, it was. I would much rather have just had boiled cabbage, if I'm being honest, soppy mess and all, on the sandwich than that. Beef and cheese worked a lot better, however. I also had the Poutine fries on the side, which were covered in what I took to be some sort of stab at a beef stew gravy, but was rather an abomination which utterly wrecked the fries. The cheese curds, on the other hand, were quite nice. My kid had the fish and chips. He went with just the fries and once I dug into the fish, I found out why. There was a tiny, thin rectangle of fish surrounded by so much batter that it cooked hollow at the ends surrounding the fish. This is another dish they would need to do, if not accurately, at least far better than this utter mess. All in all, very uneven outing and one I'm probably not super-inclined to repeat again with any rapidity. read more

I'm a regular at Three Lyons for 2-4-1 burgers and mug night on Monday and I believe they have the best burgers in Fargo. The menu is hearty american and pub fare with high quality ingredients. I've never been disappointed with any item from the menu. They also have a very good beer selection and always have at least one cider on tap. I think the atmosphere is excellent, well kept with a nice bar. The sturdy wood tables and modest decorations keep it classy and low-key. It feels like more of a restaurant than a bar and is usually not too loud to have a conversation. I would recommend Three Lyons Pub to anyone looking for a delicious, filling meal and some good drinks in a comfortable, pub-style restaurant. ps They have TouchTunes read more

Came in on a weekend night. I like British Pubs and this place is conveniently located to where I am staying. Menu seems like it's trying to hard. I did have a martini and not a beer, so that's on me. Came in and nobody greeted me. I found a place to sit and it took a little bit before anyone acknowledged my presence. Not very friendly and a bit short throughout, which maybe is a bit British, so won't take any stars off for that. Also, no stars off for the martini, which wasn't very good. I ordered a dish I get pretty often. Bangers and mash. No potatoes so I got peas instead. Still carbs, but not as many. The potatoes came with a guinness gravy which I thought would also be left off. The dish came with what looked like cut up breakfast sausage smothered with the gravy. Pretty gross. It looked more like something from a traditional English breakfast, but with salty gravy. Sausages were also salty so it was a bit of a mess. Finished my food quickly and it's pretty safe to say I won't be coming back. Probably should give this place one star, but I am rounding up to 2 stars because they did have Boddingtons. This is despite most of the other beers just being American. read more

My wife and I stopped in for a couple beers. The layout is open. The staff attentive. Great spot for large groups. They have a full bar with happy hour and live bands. We had the bangers and mash and we weren't really impressed. The sausage had a strange mushy texture and the potatoes were almost nonexistent. The overall first impression was a good place to visit and have some drinks. We will return to try other types of foods. The menu has a lot of options. read more

Just had the london broil(french dip basically) and it was awful. Probably the worst french dip I've ever had. The amount of au jus I got was so little I ran out with over half my sandwhich left to force down. The meat was burnt somehow and it was supposed to come with onions,green peppers and cheese. I think I saw two little onions and one little piece of green pepper and no cheese. This was a pickup order and the place was dead so it wasn't an issue of people being rushed. The fries were blah tasting but edible and the ranch was decent, but obviously never even thinking about going back to this place. As is my normal rule, I like to give places second chances if I am not happy with food or service. So, a while back I came back to 3 Lyons to give it another try. I'm glad I did. I have not yet ordered the same things I did before - and, I was so turned off by them the first time, I probably won't - but the things I have ordered every time since have been great! So far, my favorite is the Beef Stroganoff, but the patty melt and the corned beef sandwich are really good, too. The Stroganoff is more an American version - without the dijon mustard - and that's fine. It's well-made: the noodles are cooked perfectly, the meat is lean and really tender, and the sauce is very tasty, with no grease. One thing I have noticed, though is that the portions are inconsistent - there can be a large difference between visits, or even between plates at a table. Since this is Fargo, and this place is a bar, you will want to come early. Starting around 6PM, the tables start to fill up quick! read more

Overpriced beer and food. I have tried a couple different items from the menu and it always is disappointing. The Ruben has a very weird smell and taste. I had to ask what the smell on the Ruben was, and the server told me they brine their corn beef with a all-spice/nutmeg concoction. It was the worst Ruben I have had in a long time. Their hamburgers are also very questionable. The hamburgers are dry and under seasoned, The whole experience is sub par and underwhelming. Also, don't spend any money on the jukebox. They will skip the songs you have paid for and play whatever the bartender or manager likes.. read more

It's difficult to find something here I don't like. Food-great. Ambiance-perfect. Staff-OUTSTANDING! A true gem for a reasonably-priced meal and an absolute must on Sunday's when the apps are 2-4-1. Certainly offers more than standard bar food of burgers/fries. I thought I found heaven with the Guinness gravy but it turns out that's just the gate entrance when compared to the horseradish sauce/dip which is usually reserved for the roast beef/french dip, but it's *amazing* with fries. read more

I had originally planned on ordering the fish n chips but ended up going with a Klaus burger that had cheese, onions, jalapeños and bacon. I'm glad I did as it was good. Four thumbs up on the improvements! First... The waitresses were much better dressed and much more presentable than during my previous visit, with their über-short skirts. And the service was greatly improved! My friend and I had been greeted shortly after we sat down (easily within 5 minutes, and more like under 3) by an extremely friendly young lady. At one point, after closing my tab, I decided I wanted one more round. So I went up to the bar to order it, and the server who was waiting for a drink order asked me what I wanted and said she'd bring it to the table for me. Definitely a plus. Second... The beer/liquor selection is still fantastic! Third... The food. There are probably a couple things I would take off of the menu, simply from my experience having lived in England - however, I do realize that this IS North Dakota. That said, it was pretty darn tasty. I had the beer cheese soup to start off with. The flavor was fantastic, even if it was a bit on the thin side. But, I'm a huge snob when it comes to beer cheese soup (my recipe uses two types of beer and three or four types of cheese - sadly, I can't get most of the cheese here easily so I can't recall for sure.) And, in the spirit of British pub fare, I had to go with the fish n' chips. As a fan of fish n' chips, I was a wee bit disappointed - but my standards are quite high, for multiple reasons. All in all, though... The food came out quickly, it was hot (hot enough that I had to let the fish sit for a couple minutes to cool down), and it was filling. Honestly, though... Extreme improvement over what it was originally. I can definitely say that I'll be visiting again to sample some of the other menu items. Stopped in here last night for something to eat. I ordered the bangers and mash. It came out quick and hot. It also tasted great. There was a lot of food, I couldn't finish all of the sausage. I really enjoyed this place the first three times I went. Unfortunately last night I took three friends from work to Three Lyons Pub for dinner and drinks after work and presented my 100% Valid Florida drivers license that I have used at Three Lyons Pub three times before and a multitude of other places around town without any issues and was denied drinks even though I am almost 30 years old. The staff really needs to be educated about the fact that there 49 other states in the country and they all have different looking ID's. Went right around the corner to Bar Nine and spent my money on drinks there and got zero flack about my ID. read more

Favorite place ever! Amazing menu with delicious foods and awesome twists to old favorites. The drinks are well made and the atmosphere is perfect for a chill group that doesn't want to scream to converse. Wait staff is personable and a lot of times remember who you are. This is one of my favorite places. The staff is always friendly. Appetizers, I like the Irish eggrolls, shrimp in chili sauce and sausage rolls. Dinners, Wellington sliders are a food group of their own they are so good! Bangers and mash are my second choice the London broil sandwich is another good one. They have the best beer cheese soup and the Guinness gravy is awesome. There were a few things that didn't quite agree with my taste buds, but that wasn't their fault. Those items were the stew and sheppards pie. They are great at soft drink refills. I thought the service was great for as busy as they we're tonight. I usually don't go out here for a bar setting but I really like the food. Their mashed potatoes are awesome and so many items on the menu that I really don't find necessary to list. I will definitely go back again & would recommend for a bar that has more than the usual bar food. read more

Just watch your credit card receipts. If you don't tip enough Ryan will just change it. He added $21 to my tip as I had only left a dollar tip for the shitty service and lack of alcohol my friend and my drinks. We were not obnoxious. If you don't want to serve a guy don't serve him. That wasn't the issue. The issue is Ryan fraudulently changed the tip I had left. That is illegal and I would have pursued legal action had it not been for the other manager making him pay me back my total bill plus tip. I will never go back to that place at least not until he is fired. What a crook. Why even have a tip line if they can just add a tip? Ryan said to me on the phone don't you think it was worth more than one dollar for the service we provided you for three hours? I said that's not the point. It's what I left and you fraudulently changed it and I was going to call the police. He said do it. I'll just say I lost the receipt. This wasn't a walk out or a tab left overnight. I've been here a few times and I come back for the Bloody Mary, it's delicious. However, the awful service we experienced yesterday will keep me from going back, ever. From the minute we sat down(just the two of us) the server acted like we were interrupting her day. The bar wasn't even half full of patrons and she was rude and behaved like she didn't have time for us (although she did have time to be on her cell behind the bar during our visit). When I dine out I don't expect to be treated like royalty and we certainly weren't needy or "nickel and diming" the server. We were planning on staying a while and having a meal, but after 2 drinks we realized she wasn't just having a momentary lapse in courtesy (having been a server myself I understand how 1st impressions can often be wrong). We paid our bill (in cash) and left. The meager 50 cent tip should've expressed our disappointment. My advice is, if you want to run a stand out restaurant in an otherwise competitive market, you need stand out staff. We ended up spending several dollars and a much deserved 30% tip at Lucky's 13 instead. The 3 stars on this review are for the drinks, zero stars for service. read more

My friend and I went for the first time to Three Lyons. We thought it was very good. I love the different food items that you can't get anywhere else. Service was great and our waitress served us almost immediately after we sat down. Beer selection is very good, also. Most items are under $10. For unique cuisine, you can't get elsewhere, it was inexpensive. $33 for two including 3 pints of beer. We plan on going back to try some of the other entrees. read more

Three Lyons Pub has been an outstanding pub in West Fargo since the beginning and hasn't let up! Great food, atmosphere, and service! I recently set up my wife's 40th birthday party to begin at Three Lyons and even though they don't take reservations on Fridays they went out of their way to accommodate the 20 guests I needed to seat. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. The manager did a great job answering questions and making sure that my people were taken care of and having fun. read more
