    Birthday cake pudding shot. Yum!
    Nikki B.

Three Legged Dog is a classic dive bar nestled in the French Quarter. It's a 24-hour watering hole with dollar bills on the ceiling, good tunes, and friendly bartenders that serve stiff drinks with a smile. It's also popular with the locals for its boiled crawfish, which is served up fresh daily at 6 p.m. Mom & I stopped in on a sizzling summer day to take a break from the heat. The bartender on duty was a likeable guy with a wicked sense of humor. He told us they just made some birthday cake pudding shots, so we got one to share along with a couple of vodka sodas. I have to say, that pudding shot was strong & tasty. Don't pass it up. *Service fee added for credit cards.

Street parking only, small corner store with high ceilings, dark dive bar, fans and loud music Loved the music selection, good snacks and strong pour, service was sweet friendly Location like a dive bar, music like a club and restroom like the epic fear challenge

    Crawfish boil!

I love crawfish season with the Dog. Every friend from out of town now knows to ask to swing by there to enjoy the boil.

Divey bar which was cool until some idiot came in louder than the music talking crap about wanking himself. The bartender gal entertained him so he didn't shut up! We ordered tots and hatch chili chicken rolls before this clown started so be were obligated to stay. Both items were very salty, so if you're into that, and wanker dude talker, this is your place. The ambience was ok until that point, small hole is the wall with a musty smell and beer gnats everywhere. Egg roll on the floor, so guess nobody cleans. Maybe return, but thats big maybe..

Was late one night and we wanted something to eat. My friend saw a video of someone recommending this place so we went. It was a Friday night and it wasn't packed. It's a pretty small bar and I thought it was unique they had money on the ceiling. It was about 11:30 and we wanted to order some food. The guy at the bar said the kitchen was closed at the time but that it would open up at 12. So we waited the 30 mins. I ordered the garlic parm wings and mozzarella sticks and my friend ordered the hatch eggrolls(I believe that's what it was like a southwest chicken eggroll). We ordered our food to go. After we received our food two of my friends saw a rat in the restaurant. I know a lot of places in the French quarter have rat issues but it was still nasty to see in the bar. Also they had a lot of water on the ground by the bar which was weird. Food was decent bar food but I wouldn't go back due to the rat sighting.

    3# of Crawdads for $26

Dive bar with great bartenders. Small place that packs them in, particularly when the crawdads are brought in around 6 during the season. Hard to beat three pounds of crawdads for $26, and there were great, with a briny stock and garlic.

    Live crawfish boil. So good!

What a f'n gem of a discovery. We will be back multiple times before we love NOLA. Loved the crawfish boils and drinks special. It can use some AC! We were sweating balls but the time we left. Great 24 hr place to hang out and grab food! Amazing bartenders!

The crawfish was delicious. I don't know what spices he uses but a great recipe. Also they were playing a great playlist.

Crawfish as much as you can fit in that box

The best crawfish in town served 6pm onwards. Scoop your own crawfish! Reasonably priced drinks! 2 for 1 beer. Cant ask for more. AC was not working well on a really warm Saturday night though. Otherwise, all good!

I finally experienced a crawfish boil thanks to this place. Overall I thought it was good, but the crawfish had much smaller tails than other places I've seen. I'm giving this place 2 stars because the bathrooms had no soap and after eating crawfish out of the cooler that everyone was scooping out of, it really grossed me out.

    4lbs of crawfish
    Sam C.

Came here for the crawfish, but lemme first tell you this place smells awful. Looks questionable. Def a local hole in the wall. The staff was super friendly and chill. The smell makes me wanna give it three stars. The crawfish was pretty solid though. You get a Togo box and fill it up (2lbs) and it was about 24bucks/lb. Ate quickly and left. I don't know about the other food.

Ask the Community - Three Legged Dog

When is the season of crawfish?

They have the crawfish daily at 6. Prime crawfish season in Louisiana is generally Jan-July.

My wife and I will be there for the Final Four. Will there be crawfish boil Sunday night?

7 days a week at 6pm, it goes fast so get there on time or even a bit early.

What days/times do they do crawfish boils in February?

I was there on a Saturday and crawfish was ready to be served at 6:00pm

Is this 21 and older or can my 20 year old daughter eat here too?

They checked our IDs before they let us inside so i would say no unfortunately

Do they serve crawfish all the time, right now?

I would assume as long as they are in season, but boils are usually only once a day, I believe. I'd give them a call, they will gladly answer your question!

Are they serving crawfish this week?

Crawfish is BACK! Please call to inquire on days, times, and prices. Tentatively Wednesday's at 6 pm and Late Night on Saturday's at Midnight.

There was a doorman who charged us something like $5 each (still cheap!) and we ordered beer and a N/A drink at the bar and listened to a great jazz group playing old-time jazz. Interior is tiny and you're pretty close to the performers. We were standing at first but eventually found some seats as people left. There is even a back courtyard if you want to be outside, although I don't know if you can hear the music or not. We bought a CD from the band and enjoyed it when we got back home. While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. However, I was going to be hopping on a meeting, so I could not partake, unfortunately. A group got this impressive tower of espresso martini and everyone seemed to be enjoying their drinks! I wanted that New Orleans seafood but had late lunch, so I opted for just the crispy gulf shrimp on cheesy grits. I really wished I can hungrier because the dish ended up being very heavy. The shrimp were nice and crispy. The charred Brussels sprouts gave me the false sense that this was a healthy dish because I was getting my veggie intake. The bacon jam was sweet and went well with the Brussels sprouts. I loved the combination of the cheesy grits and the Crystal hot sauce. It was the perfect amount of both and some how led me to understand why Americans put hot sauce on their Mac n cheese and some other cheesy dishes after 30 years of not really understanding the attraction to that combo. I got the marinated olives to go so I could have a little snack later. They were just stuff I feel I could get in a jar... not really sure if I could justify the price. I think this is a fine place if you're looking for a photogenic night out drinking with a group of friends. Could be really cute for brunch!
