We hosted our office holiday gathering here and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was outstanding -- the shrimp appetizers, wings, and cauliflower were all excellent and a hit with everyone. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere that made the evening feel special from the moment we arrived. The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and on top of every detail, which made the event completely stress-free for our group. Truly a perfect evening. We've been coming to Durham for 2 years and never stayed here before. Well, we are pretty sad because this place is the perfect mix of friendly and beautiful New Hampshire charm. From the timber framing to the renovated bathrooms and bedrooms, it's amazing. We also had dinner and cocktails here. The food is wonderful and the staff is excellent. This is my second stay and after calling early to confirm room availability on a specific room for which I was promised we would have abd deposit collected, upon arrival we were placed in a different room. Because Lindsey who booked me didn't note that I asked for a very specific room and asked *for it to be noted* On 3 occasions to make issues right we got not a single "I'm sorry to hear that" no attempt to make it right. 1-Noisy guests won't be corrected. 2-The restaurant running at night means lower level rooms will have full volume staff conversations for full durations of breaks outside your room. 3- they will gladly take your money and not note any requests and not fix the issue even if you pay for it. 4- The spa tub has MOLD and like big slimy chunks of it. 5- After messaging someone about the issues I had after our stay I was ghosted. From reading other reviews I see a pattern here which is such a shame. The place has potential but alas, I'd look elsewhere. read more

Seating was cramped but the server was nice, as were our drinks. We started with brussel sprouts (meh) and tuna (I've never had tuna smell fishy, it was awful). We had the (restaurant week) salad, fried chicken, cheesecake. The salad was absolutely awesome, but we had barely started it and they brought out the entree. So by the time we got to the chicken it was cold, but it was sort of greasy chicken tenders on top of mashed potatoes and some sad looking peas. It wasn't good, but the cheesecake was great. I hope this review saves at least one party. Stay for the entirety to know why I gave them one extra star. This place is baiting people into thinking it's the perfect Cottage core inn for a wedding/event--but in reality it's a misplaced, safety hazard in the middle of a college town run by kids, with NOTHING to do and limited food. Everywhere in the town and online there are photos of the "cute & cozy" aesthetic--but NO WHERE does it mention: 1) the inability to call a cab, ride share, or car within 20 minutes distance (and the 2 we were able to secure ONLY came after I bribed them with 120% tip in the app). 2) the countless stink bugs flying around and landing in the Inn's room and on its guests. 3) the old unkept room structures like windows that won't close or heat systems that do not work so there's a constant freeze in the room (bc that's "just how it is"). 4) the mold that's not being treated and just being cut out of the structures in rooms. 5) the rooms aren't disinfected between guests (we saw in real time our friends move rooms to have other guests sent there without anyone in between!) 5a) dust was everywhere, and hair and skin could be found in the coffee station and in the sugar packets when we first walked in. 5b) dead red gnats were found in the bed sheets, along with brown dirt/shaving of some kind. 6) the Continental breakfast with 3 eggs and 1 banana for 30 UNITS -- and the half drank milk put back in the singles drink station. 7) some of the most bad mannered people working the place (more than half of the employees treated guests including myself as if WE were inconveniencing THEM). 8) the food in the restaurant and event venue was so terrible it's laughable. There was TOILET PAPER on a salad instead of cheese (oh and there wasn't a nut warning in the salad WITH so that was funny (not)). 9) their liquor bottles didn't have the visible sticker needed to show that's the actual liquor in the bottle and a few of the guests including myself actually couldn't even swallow their usual drink bc it tasted so off. 10) nothing in the area is open before 8 and after 10 so be prepared to door dash it up! 11) the college town--great for reminding us about old times, bad for the only Dunkin lines. There is probably more but I've blacked most of it out. Here's what I think was redeemable about the Inn: 1) some of the staff were so precious. Mikayla in housekeeping worked so hard to make sure we had supplies we needed and extra towels for comfort. Guy with curly hair (forgot his name) was so helpful in the mornings and there were two that helped me with my stuff and safe keeping it midday. 2) maintenance fixed my problem in the bathroom so quickly it made my time there less trash. 3) gas station next door is a safe haven for the (I'm being dramatic here) food desert this Inn was. 4) their cable and the fake fireplace does work. And this was also very nice. 5) the bed. I slept very well! And that's even with all the bugs. 6) for ppl that camp a lot this probably would not bother them all that much. Sadly, we were very underwhelmed with our first time having dinner last night at the Three Chimney's Inn. To start my wife's clam chowder had too much tarragon which took away from the taste of the chowder. They should've called it tarragon soup. My wife's swordfish, undercooked, jasmine rice, undercooked asparagus undercooked. To end her meal my wife ordered a gluten-free chocolate sorbet, which she said if you close your eyes, you couldn't tell what it was because there was no taste. I ordered a NY strip steak medium rare but it was rare. Our waitress was very attentive, apologetic, and she did comp my wife's meal but there was no manager to be found to take accountability for our time. We even booked our reservation early in the evening to avoid any rush on the kitchen, but their eyes were not on the ball with our meal. While the physical structure is inviting and quaint, and the guest rooms offer something the hotel chains don't, find somewhere else to eat. Unfortunately, the restaurant is subpar. The food is hit or miss and, if they are aiming to offer a mediocre experience, they are nailing it. We keep going back with the hopes that the food has improved,since we like the atmosphere. It only took us four years to decide and give it a try. Our daughter goes to UNH and we usually stay at a chain hotel located in Portsmouth or Dover. We were happy we gave it a try. It's a beautiful old building with lots of history, character, and charm. Definitely romantic! The grounds were well maintained and picturesque. We booked our one night reservation on line and checked in with no issues. Our room was located in the second building and the room was bigger than we expected. Lots of character in the room. Old wooden beams on the ceiling, wood floors, etc. Everything worked to perfection and the bed was very comfortable. Our stay was during a heat wave and the air conditioning worked very well. We weren't able to grab a meal because the tavern was closed for a wedding party. We were a bit disappointed with the continental breakfast served to our room in the morning. It consisted on plastic bottles of orange juice, oranges, yogurt, granola, plastic wrapped muffins, and a package of wrapped hard boiled eggs. No coffee or tea. Our room had a Keurig with only two Keurig cups. It would have been great if the Inn had served a hot breakfast in the restaurant but most likely due to Covid, it wasn't possible. On the other hand, it would have been nice to have the Inn partner with a local bakery and serve a basket of fresh muffins, bagels, croissants, hot coffee, etc. The price of the Inn for the night was very reasonable and there was plenty of parking in their private lot. Staff was friendly. Location was very close to downtown Durham, UNH, and a few miles from downtown Newmarket. I certainly understand why this place would be great for a wedding. We already booked a stay for a night on our next visit in mid-August. read more

The first clue was the wine. I ordered the most expensive wine, by the glass. Got about two ounces in a crappy, plastic cocktail glass. I should have gotten the bottle for 3x the price and just taken it home. The location is quiet and pretty. I never recommend inn or hotel restaurants because they cater to their guests and don't have to meet the free market standards of stand-alone dining establishments. Any good restaurant worth it's salt earns it reputation every night, one dinner at a time. With the built-in audience a hospitality location has, they don't try so hard, BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE TO. Waitstaff was initially good, but service fell off to the point that someone else brought us our check. Seemed like our waitress had seen enough of us. The cheese curd appetizer was great. Really nice dipping sauce. Wife's salmon was good. My steak frites was a tough cut, and had the wait an extra 5 minutes, or more, to get a steak knife sharp enough to cleave this tough cut of meat. The truffle fries were mostly small, broken bits drenched in a snooty, oily substance. I would have preferred a nice, baked potato or some steamed vegetables. Not haute cuisine here. Ambience was nice, weather was perfect for patio dining. We had a 90 minute slot and I was happy to leave early. I'd rather eat at a hot dog stand, where the owner is enthusiastic and committed to your experience. This place was resting on its laurels and its proximity to UNH. Let the out of staters eat here. Inns really aren't my thing to begin with, but I needed something close to Lee and needed to be near my sister. She wanted to stay here, so that meant I really had no other choice. Quaint, rustic, charming, adorable, etc. are appropriate words if you like inns or like bug-filled rooms with loose screws on the floor. I nearly stepped on the screw in my barefeet. I showered with my glasses on, because I legit did not know what type of bug would show up (so far, had seen a cricket, a moth, and some unidentifiable ones). Mattress was hard and I didn't get much sleep. Was going to turn the air on but I noticed the window AC unit was covered in mold, so decided against that. I go to check out the next morning and was told I owed because I wasn't charged the weekend rate. But I booked online for a Friday night through the inn's website and paid in full at the time. That is super shady and bad business. Breakfast in ffrost Sawyer Tavern (I know, I don't understand the name either) was decent. A mimosa is included, which is nice. It was good and strong. Service was super friendly. I had to move my overnight bag to a chair though, because a bug was approaching it, so just be careful. TL;DR: Don't stay here unless you like bugs and being incorrectly charged. read more

We came here to attend a family wedding over the weekend. Our room was beautiful, clean, and the bed was firm and very comfortable. Unfortunately, my praise of the room stops there. At night, we could hear everything. The neighbors went to sleep with their TV on and we could hear it loud and clear. Someone sneezed in the next room. Little kids upstairs in the morning. Everything. The breakfast buffet was uninspired and the food was not hot. The french toast is excellent, but otherwise nothing great. The real disappointment was the rehearsal and dinner. A waitress led the rehearsal and forgot the parents in the procession. It took over an hour to get rolls let alone dinner and both dining rooms were severely understaffed. Food was ice cold when it got to us because servers brought the food up and left it sitting on a side table outside of the dining room. It took forever to get drinks and guests were shooed out of the tavern when they tried to get drinks on their own. One server would take the drink order and another would walk through calling out the drinks. The hosting family was upset and we felt awful. The next morning the wedding coordinator came up to discuss it with the bride and claimed that this was horrifying and had never happened before. If you read the yelp reviews, this is clearly not the case. The coordinator promised the world and nearly delivered. This is a cute place to stay if you're ever in the Durham area. It's a cross between a B&B and small hotel. The rooms are all decorated differently giving every room its own charm. It may not be the most ideal place for some visitors, though. The beds are extremely high (they have step stools to use to get into bed) and the soaker tubs have high sides that may be difficult for some to get in and out. The walls are a little thin and you can tell when the other guests are beginning to wake up and shower, but voice sounds do not carry. Amenities include free wifi, iron, and blow dryer. The bathrooms could use a fan in them. The free buffet breakfast was good and the staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

Our room in the carriage house had a king size canopy bed, gas fireplace, and included a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. It was simultaneously historic and homey. The cozy bar in the basement was closed for drinks when we settled in, but we ordered a bottle of champagne for the room and cozied up by the fire. Made reservations last evening. Selected restaurant, not bar. We were seated in the basement right under the stairs. Bad start. Menu was small, but if you want everything fried, you might be fine. Ordered a salad with blue cheese dressing. Was given a small plate with a handful of lettuce only and a few blue cheese crumbles. Not dressing. When I called the hostess over she said they don't have blue cheese dressing, only oil and vinegar based ones. She gave me a side of this, but it was mostly vinegar. I returned the salad. As we weren't sure about ordering fried foods, we went with simple burgers. They came over cooked. I left half my order. Being seated by the hostess stand meant there was a constant flow of customers, staff and other guests from the banquette room behind it. Very noisy. The overall atmosphere was dank and loud. We payed up and left, and we won't be returning. If you want a nice dinner, spend a few more minutes in your car and head to Portsmouth. read more

I frequently confess to having a limited set of skills. I'm good at finding chart patterns. I have an uncanny knack for assessing the appropriate container size for a given leftover. And I sleep brilliantly. This last skill, sadly, was challenged to the breaking point last night. In the course of my oft-cited travels of late, I found myself in an undisclosed location in a lodge that could be described as quaint, charming, and rustic. As with most real estate terms, though, the adjectives only gently suggest the darker truth. My family's lodging is adjacent to an ancient graveyard. One could open the bedroom window and touch a two-hundred year old headstone. This place is also said to be haunted, with many individuals reporting hair-raising sightings of specters. The heating, too, is ghastly. The ground outside is deep with snow, and the inside is heated with a gas fire which loudly turns on and off via thermostatic control. The groans and aches of the surrounding metal as it contracts and expands with these turnings is enough to wake the dead (which, conveniently, as I mentioned, are just outside). But this wasn't my problem, really. It was the couple upstairs. The couple that arrived at 1 in the morning. The couple whose every footstep emitted a grinding squeak as the adjacent floorboards on which they feet pressed pushed against one another. The happy, very sexual active couple, who made extensive and enjoyable use of the four-post bed in the room above. That couple. Squeak squeak squeak squeak. Pause. Squeak squeak squeak squeak. Pause. Squeak squeak squeak squeak. Pause. As I've been married a long while, when I first heard this noise, I wondered to myself - - and I am not making this up - - why someone was doing woodwork at 1:30 in the morning. I listened carefully, deducing incorrectly that a skilled craftsman was making lusty use of a wood plane. Only after the powerful deductive engine that we all hail as My Brain set to work did I realize that two people were above me doing the nasty. I was eager to strangle either of them, since killing them both would have been unnecessary to my goal of silence. After a long, long while, a final squeak squeak squeak pealed forth, and the next sound I heard was.....a toilet flushing. I personally have never conjured up a visit to commode as the natural terminus to carnal embrace, but perhaps humanity has moved past my own knowledge of this area. read more

My wife and I had a wonderful night at the Three Chimney Inn. It was clean with a colonial atmosphere. The bed was comfortable and the jacuzzi was nice next to the fireplace. The Ffrost tavern downstairs was amazing! The drinks were good and the food was even better! The manager was super friendly and the portions were good size. I had my wedding at TCI last August. It is an adorably quaint little B&B with tons of charm. Everyone knows wedding planning is crazy and I did mine from 300 miles away, but about 2mo before my wedding they had a staff change and failed to mention it to their brides. I had been working with the same woman for months and only found out she had left TCI after about 1mo worth of emails went unanswered. I will say that they did try to pull a bit of a scam on me. We had a buffet style dinner, which was delish, but my original contract said nothing about a 20% gratuity since we were not having served dinner. I would have no problem with paying 15% since guests are serving themselves, but they tried to sneak it in and when I brought up that it was not in my original contract, they said "Well, dont pay it, fine. But the staff WILL KNOW that you are not!" HA!!! So basically they threatend us with crappy service. I had all intentions of handing off $40 to each of the head staff the night of the wedding, and actually I gave a few of them MORE that night after it was all said and done. They totally stepped up to the plate as we had a sole black cloud come over our outdoor reception and dumped rain on us for a few minutes, they hustled and dried all of the chairs and tables and even began to set up the indoor reception area just incase the rain didnt stop. Had a 7pm reservation on Valentine's day for the Three Chimney's Inn. First of all we arrived at 6:58 and were penalized for another 6 other couples had 7pm reservations. They seated everyone first come first serve. I would have understood since Valentine's day is such a busy holiday but after waiting 30 minutes they did not sit us in the main fireplace room, they sat us downstairs in a corner. To add insult to injury, a walk-in came in at 7:30 and were sat next to us at the same time. So reservations are complete bullsh!t there. Once seated the walk-in couple was served before us. Not happy but lets continue with the food. The menu looked good, we ordered a nice bottle of wine that was inexpensive. The appetizer was a pork belly quesadilla. I love pork belly and although it was cooked properly, the rest o the quesadilla was a mess. The 'slaw' did not work and the pressed quesadilla just fell apart as it was burnt. For entrees, I ordered the Haddock that was encrusted with Crab Meat and Yukon Gold Potatoes. It was completely flavorless. The Haddock and Crab had no flavor, not even salt. The potatoes that were 'encrusted' were not good either, I think they were undercooked. Also, my asparagus was completely overcooked. Awful. My date ordered a pot roast that was magnificent. The beef was so tender and flavorful. Her carrots was cooked perfectly and they were tasty as well. This was wonderful. Dessert was neither bad nor good. It was simply 'meh'. This mediocre dish was the brownie. Poor service is redeemable with good food in my opinion, but this place loses on both fronts. I give it 2 stars, the beef and wine were nice. read more

Food only review: Everytime I have been here, I have been less than satisfied. In theory, this place should, and could be good. The "talk" of it in town is reputable, but I have never seen any reason for this. The grounds are stunning, with amazing gardens and benches to sit in the midst of trees. The atmosphere and decor is also beautiful, with an old, antiqued feel to it... almost like you are in a den of an old mansion, or in a museum library. The bar downstairs is cozy. It truly has a great feel to it. However, the positives end there. Every time I have been here, the food, and the service has been extremely disappointing. One time in particular, we came here for my graduation with a party of 8, (with a baby), and reservations. We were seated 2 hours past our meal time, none of us were served the food we ordered, and the food came another 2 hours past our sit down time. We kept asking to speak to a manager, and no one ever came. In fact, our waitress disappeared entirely. I am not sure what was going on, but this has happened on more than one occasion. In addition, their prices are very very high, and the food you receive is nothing more than casual Inn food. read more

I always get excited to come here and for some reason it never quite lives up to expectations. The menu in the restaurant never seems to match what's advertised on their web site. Maybe that has to do with the availability of ingredients or something, but if you have your heart set on one particular thing on the online menu, you should probably call ahead and check. My wife had the Greek platter, which she said was incredible. I had the lobster Mac & cheese, which was good but not spectacular. There really isn't much of a kids' menu, so beware if you're bringing little ones. Our table was very rickety. I know that's supposed to be part of the rustic charm, but it's pretty annoying when you have four full water glasses on the table. We went at lunchtime, when the restaurant had just opened. It was sparsely populated, but there was lots of traffic with people who worked at the Inn going back and forth through the dining room. All in all, not a very relaxing experience. Just got back from the most disappointing dinner in Three Chimneys for all the time we go there (15+ years). The ambiance is still superb, the service is extremely good as usual. But it seems that chef had left the kitchen for the night and dish washer cooked for us instead. Seafood Alfredo pasta was undercooked and sauce is only remotely resembling the real thing. Potato Crusted haddock was good. But the creme brulee was simply disastrous. Definitely bottom 3 of all 50-60 deserts of this kind I've tried in my life. Absolutely undercooked and terribly oversweetened. And we always order it in here and it was never THAT bad: what a shame! They gave us $10 discount for the next dinner, but I really don't know how long we will recover from today's visit. Really sad. read more

Was here for two days for a wedding. The hotel is awesome! Super Clean, super nice! Rooms are decorated well, its what you want went renting a hotel at an house built in 1650's, qthe staff was reasonable. The rehearsal dinner was a disaster. The food was top of the line delicious, it just took Two hours to get. The server Heather was amazing. Aside from her the staff couldn't have cared less. Even rude comments from the manager on duty, to the BRIDE which was completely and utterly uncalled for. The wedding went off without a hitch and was executed perfectly! Food, staff, setting it was actually perfect. Everyone had an amazing time. They saved the weekend with how well the wedding went off. Again the food was Amazing! I would recommend anyone have their wedding here, i would recommend the hotel to all, and of your looking for a nice romantic secluded get away with a great meal this is the spot ! I am surprised Three Chimneys has not been reviewed more - This is a fantastic spot for those coming in to Durham for UNH events (like myself).You can walk to campus in 10 minutes! Instead of staying at a generic hotel, Three Chimneys provides quirky b&b rooms (very clean) at really reasonable rates. I stayed in the carriage house in a room with an enormous king canopy bed. Your stay comes with breakfast (I had an omelet-of-the-day with crisp asparagus and cheddar) and cheery dining room staff (who, mercifully, knew to stop talking to me when I gave the pre-coffee glare). Helpful front desk staff helped with directions, dining suggestions (there is a restaurant on site too), and a new key when mine got persnickety. Garden with benches by a small fountain. Organic products in the bathroom. and...free, high speed wireless internet that sealed the deal. read more

My boyfriend and I visited here this weekend for one night and it was great! The lobby staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I was actually amazed at how welcome they made us feel. The Inn is super cute and we loved our room. It was decorated really fun and had a great soaking tub and fireplace. Our only complaint about the room was the creaky floors at the Inn, which I am sure it unavoidable in an older building. That being said, I also think we had some exceptionally noisy guests above us, which made going to sleep kind of tricky. I think next time we would just ask for an upstairs room instead to decrease the noise level. The complementary breakfast in the morning was also really great. We had a wonderful server who was exceptionally friendly. The breakfast is interesting because it's in their restaurant but there aren't any menus. At first it seemed a little strange, but you can literally ask for just about any breakfast food and they have it. I thought it was fun. Everything we ordered was great. Ate here twice over the course of a weekend. Friday Happy Hour at the bar. The place was empty but the food was good. Our group ordered the calamari ($12), bowl of clam chowder ($7), Tuna Bites ($11), Spinach Dip ($10), steamed mussels ($11), a Caesar salad with grilled chicken ($15) and a house salad with grilled tuna ($21). All the food was spot on. Absolutely no complaints. The drinks, for a Happy Hour, seemed a bit pricey. $9 for a Grey Goose Martini, $9 for a Hendricks Martini and $7.50 for a Captain Morgan & Coke. Returned Saturday night for a wedding reception. Cocktail Hour was in the same bar area. Unfortunately the air conditioner did not work and New Hampshire was in the middle of a September heat wave. Not good. At least the air conditioner in the main dining room worked. And again, the food was spot on. No complaints. read more

The three chimneys inn is GORGEOUS. The building itself is what you'd hope a little upscale inn in Durham, NH would be like. A little creaky, old with character, little tchotchkes around, decorated beautifully. It smells good too. Like my grandparents' old cottage, also in Durham. The rooms are furnished with beautiful wood furniture, and pretty rugs. The lamps are unique. The tv is nice. The binder full of things to do is full of the history of the building and was obviously well thought out. I think that's my take away. This place is well thought out. Everything seems intentional. This is a place I would recommend to ANYONE staying in Durham. The regular motels are fine, and this being coastal New England, people are generally pleasant. But if you want to feel like you imagined you'd feel spending a weekend in Durham, spend that weekend here. Maybe this is too much for a first impression. I only got here like 3 hours ago and haven't even eaten the breakfast yet. But I'm sure I'll love it. ALSO, my mom stays here every time she comes to visit her parents and the hotel was nice enough to give her a discount on the most recent stay because she keeps coming back. Now, she never asked for this, and I have no idea what their policy is. I think it may just be one of those nice things they do if they appreciate frequent return business, but it means a lot. My mom appreciates it. I like seeing it. This place is wonderful. read more

A wonderful place to stay. We stayed at the Three Chimneys Inn for the weekend. I found the Inn to be both beautiful and fascinating. We started by eating dinner in the Maples Room. The food was excellent. We ordered the tuna bites, and the pulled pork, then split a pizza. All were very good. Since we arrived later, we were the last dinners to leave and were able to spend a little extra time talking to the waitress about the ghost stories at the Inn. She was wonderful and even gave us a tour to the Inn. Our room was number 16 in the Carriage House. It was beautiful and spacious having a fireplace and a wonderful large soaking tub. I found the bed comfortable. The Inn staff were all very nice. Originally we were assigned a room without a fireplace and they were able to move us to a fireplace room. I must comment on the bathroom. I really appreciated the luxury of being given conditioner. Most places have shampoo and conditioner in one. That stuff just leaves my long hair a tangled mess. It was so nice to have two containers one of shampoo and the other conditioner. Nice touch! Breakfast in the morning was in the downstairs tavern. It had a huge fireplace in the middle with tables around it. I loved this room! The first morning we were given a choice of several breakfast including an omelet, french toast, pancakes, or eggs any style. My omelet was delicious. The second morning was a buffet style which was also very good. Before leaving, I took a walk around the grounds. During the summer they must be beautiful. It was such a lovely area even though it was freezing outside:) I would come back again and I am already thinking of our next time we can come up to stay. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Your friendly staff made our stay even more memorable. We both thought the best part of our weekend was the tour of your Inn. We had the honor of having our wedding at three chimneys inn! It was picture perfect!! Pauline and Kelsey and the entire staff made us and our entire family and friends feel at HOME! From the Amazing food, to their attention to detail the entire wedding went off without a hitch!! Our dream wedding was brought to reality because of this glorious place!!! To begin it was my 49th anniversary so I thought it would be a nice change from going to one of our favorite local restaurants to eat in the Inn's tavern and try their prime rib dinner. My wife had recently attended a wedding shower for a friend of ours and she very much liked the ambiance the Inn offered. We arrived about ten minutes prior to their opening and found the place in total darkness. We eventually approached the main entrance and the place was still in darkness, no outside entry light. We made our way downstairs to the tavern and had a drink at the bar [which is typical old New England architecture and quite pleasant eventually transferring to a table where we shared a bottle of wine and ordered the prime rib. It arrived smothered with gravy which I have never experienced before and added nothing to our selection. The rib was a very genereous cut but tougher than nails. We only ate a few bites finished our wine asked for the check. We were never asked if we enjoyed the meal or not. It was apparent by the amount of food we left on our plates that we were not at all pleased with what was served. The prices were reasonable but the Inn has to step up to meet the quality patrons expect and deserve. We will not return. read more

We hurried over on a day we lost power, and were taken care of so nicely by everyone we encountered. The room was beautiful and large enough for my wife and kids. The dinner was awesome in the tavern. And the breakfast in the morning was great. Such a nice distraction from a crummy situation back home. read more
