Have stayed here about 4 times over the past few years visiting our children at summer camp. The owners, Janet and Doug, are wonderfully friendly and charming folks who I have really enjoyed getting to know. Their home is a lovely old farm house with a great deal of charm; lots of antiques, some low ceilings, creaky floors, antique locks on the doors, etc. The rooms are small, but comfortable. You'll find a few cob webs and a little dust, but this is a trifle. Janet makes a cooked-to-order breakfast often asking what you'd like the night before. She is an excellent cook. The best part of a visit to the Inn is the idyllic backyard (see photo) which is immaculately kept and is stunningly beautiful. It is quite relaxing and serene. Sit and listen to to the quiet. Once you sit down and take in the view, you do not want to move. There is also a screened-in porch for those wishing to avoid the sun and flying annoyances. The property also has access to a nearby pond which is a short walk via a path through the woods across the street. Canoeing and rowing is possible, or simply sit and take in the water view and others enjoying the lake. The Meadow Farm Bed and Breakfast is a lovely oasis.

It was wonderfully quiet, and we slept soundly. A highlight was the claw-foot tub surrounded by stained glass, with a separate, beautiful shower. We loved having a Nespresso machine and steamed milk for morning coffee. The Inn's "Bee and Breakfast" arrangement gives guests the option of breakfast at Honey Cup, a charming spot just down the block. The neighborhood is quiet and filled with beautiful homes, and it's an easy walk into town. Michael, the innkeeper, was friendly and accommodating, and the customer service team was very responsive. We also learned about the Chef's Dinners held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. We've stayed in big-box hotels on earlier visits, but Ash Street Inn has won us over. We'll stay here whenever we return.

So I was pleasantly surprised by how awesome Around the Corner is. The proprietors, Rita and Peter, really make everyone feel at home. They introduce guests to each other and create an atmosphere where it's actually a pleasure to meet the other people staying there. I have dietary restrictions that Rita (the breakfast chef) was able to gracefully accommodate. The rooms are beautiful, with lots of detail, and plenty of books to borrow while you're there. Very peaceful and quiet at night. Each room has a window air conditioner/fan unit which helps keep the temp comfortable. I got to explore Exeter and the surrounding towns. Some highlights: the Fly By Cafe (downtown Exeter, has a UFO theme); Wallis Sands State Park, a peaceful beach; Folsom Tavern, where George Washington had a meal. I always felt comfortable asking for recommendations or sharing my thoughts on what I'd seen with the proprietors and other guests. Very un-snobby place. A couple quirks: The parking situation is pretty crowded and that can get stressful if the B&B is full. Also, be aware that some of the bathrooms are shared--be sure to check in advance if having your own bath is important to you. Overall, such a lovely and fun place to spend a few days!

Even had fresh local scones from the secret bakery in Wolfeboro. One thing should be mentioned. They have 6 dogs on the property. If you don't like dogs or are allergic, this is not the place for you. But for me, it was great. I love dogs. There were well behaved and the whole property is invisible fenced, including the inside. You don't have to worry about them going into your room. All in all, this place is great. I would highly recommend Lake View Inn. It's the perfect lake regions B & B.

My friend decided that her first tea was enough for the day and was given a tea bag of her choice to take home. I noticed that the decorations had changed since my last visit, which gave the place a different vibe. It felt like visiting a new tea parlor. This time, instead of soup, we were served a salad. It was a good salad. I requested honey for my tea, as I saw others having it and it was not on the table. I did not particularly care for some of the tea sandwiches offered this month. The rest of the food, and particularly my scone, were good. I would come back again but will pay close attention to the menu offered.

We counted at least 8 tables with chairs on the pretty porch, but were told we could not do that. They should rethink that, IMO. Our tea arrived in small, personal teapots, but within a few minutes, the tea became cold- there was no tea-cozy or tea warmer provided to keep it hot. I have been to many tearooms and never not had a warmer for my tea. The four sandwich offerings were pretty enough- but very bland in taste. The scones came out with the dessert selections, oddly enough- which we did enjoy very much. Overall, we were not very impressed with our experience, and probably will not return.

Upon arrival, there is a grammatically…read morechallenged sign on the desk with a phone number explaining that you need to make a phone call to check in and that only one person works there. Well, nothing is more evident than that. We called and we checked in for our 2-night stay. We were shown to our room and never saw the guy again. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The view of the pond was nice. The room was tiny, the TV was tiny, the refrigerator was good with a freezer that actually worked, and the bathroom was tiny. There is a tiny table and chairs set, the size of a child's play set. The vending machine in the lobby was "Out of Order." No longer is there a working restaurant on the premises. As others have written, you practically had to step into the bathtub to close and open the bathroom door. The bathroom was clean. Use caution, the seat moves when you least expect it. There were no tissues in the room. There is a K-Cup coffee maker but the coffee supplies were not replaced for our second day. I suppose this was because there is no housekeeping if staying two or more days. The walls are paper thin. We could hear our neighbor's TVs clearly, as well as their "adult alone time." Despite putting our sign out on the door requesting housekeeping, nothing was done. We had one set of towels for two days. We opened the dresser and found old stale snacks had been left in it by previous occupants. Check out was another phone call. It sounded as if we woke him. It was 10:45. We did get a "Have a good day" but nothing as far as "Thank you for staying with us" "Please come again" or even "How was your stay?" It was almost like we were bothering him to check out. We just put the key on the desk and left. Two days and we saw the guy once. I guess the old saying, "You get what you pay for" holds true here. Never again.
