Apparently, Everything is not going to be alright if you have a pet. When Googled, The Three Birds is a pet friendly Patio restaurant. This is not the case. After being seated and ordered something to drink, Kateline informed us we could not have dinner with our dog on the patio. When I asked about the information online about pet friendly it was pointed out that it has been frustrating for them, and they are trying to get this misinformation down. Went to three birds for lunch on Saturday. The service was attentive and smooth. I had my two year old daughter. This is a great place for toddlers and the place must have a 1/3 of customers with toddlers and babies. The kids menu was cute and allowed them to pick up a puzzle to play with while they waited for their food. The plate my daughter had was amazing, well organized, and the food was well cooked. (She ate almost the entire plate.) i had the smash burger with fries which was amazing, while my wife had the fried chicken sandwich with slaw which was also perfectly cooked and tasty. The layout of the restaurant was well done with plenty of green space which helped improve the ambiance and really made it a great place to hang out. The service was incredibly slow. If you're looking for a quick lunch spot this is not the place. You'll be here over an hour just to get your food. Seems kid friendly with the activity menu, but not kid friendly if you have to wait that long to feed them. Parking lot is annoying. The inside is cute and all the windows are nice. The food is fine. actually not even 1 star...... went there on a Thursday, late afternoon with my husband to enjoy my birthday. We sat ourselves at a table as there was no one there to greet us at the door nor was there a sign that said please wait to be seated. We sat there for over 10 minutes with no wait staff even glancing at us....a few even walked by us and never said anything. It seemed like they were actively avoiding us. So glad to see the old Carmel's get a reboot. This place is really neat. Cool decor and huge patio. Went on a rainy Friday night and it was packed. Chad our server was very good. Had the roasted chicken for two. The salad and fingerling potatoes were really delicious, the chicken was good but nothing special. Reminiscence of an old , yet upscale diner. With the trappings of somewhat overpriced wannabe hipster food and the loudness of a sports bar during the Super Bowl. Three birds delivers on a new aesthetic place to be and food that is slightly above average. The wings I had were crispy and had a unique flavor. Might not be for everyone. The burger I had was delicious and what I hoped for in a burger. Juicy , savory and meaty but I couldn't enjoy the burger the way I wanted to due to the added up charge of $5 for fries that any non skilled tween could make...I was left disappointed and longing for any other batch fries than the ones I was eating. They were flimsy ... cold and lacking any texture or flavor but that of soggy bread. Oh and lastly , I was double charged for my meal. Not sure if I would return. read more

First visit to this recently opened restaurant and I was delightfully impressed. The interior is light, airy, and modern. I love what they've done with the place which had formerly been a dated Mexican restaurant. Nice menu with pasta options, as well as burgers, and salads. Enjoyed the drinks menu, including the something confidential drink. Every one of us in our party of 4 enjoyed their drinks and meals. Ended the meal with a crustless cheesecake which had a nice soft consistency, not a too heavy cream cheese taste. Loved the whole experience. Excellent service. Recommend you make reservations on Friday and Saturday evenings. Only negative is that it was a little pricy but the 2 cocktails I enjoyed thoroughly contributed to that. read more

Went on a soft opening "test" lunch service. The first thing you notice is the attention to detail on the interior design and the mid century modern diner aesthetic. It's a beautiful and fun space to be in. You sense some familiarity to the sister restaurants (Sueno, Tender Mercy, Dozo) but in a really good way, and all the dishes seem to differentiate themselves from the other restaurants. I had the double smash burger which had a great melted cheese and extremely tasty classic burger sauce. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had in the area easily. Also tried the white bean hummus which came with an array of fresh crunchy veggies, spiced tortilla chips and what seemed to be housemade hummus. The presentation and taste of everything was on point, and definitely lives up to the same quality standards as its sister restaurants. read more

First time there - not what as expected - overpriced and greasy. Beer on tap limited - waiter was sarcastic when I asked about the IPA which is the only IPA. Waiter Asked so so you ever had a IPA??? My Caesar salad did not have flavor I actually added salt to the salad and ate something else after I went home. Food was good but the noise interfered with our conversation. We literally had to yell to hear each other.

We went there for lunch today around 2pm. it was crowded. Our table was cramped against 2 other tables. The noise level was obnoxious. We couldn't even talk between us. DO NOT order the Cole slaw. It's way spicy guacamole mixed with coleslaw. The sandwiches were ok. But 2 sandwiches and 2 diet cokes and the bill was $52. We won't go back. But loved the place when it was Carmels. read more

We did not, the hostess went on to determine where to sit us and asked if an hour and 15 minutes would be enough time... I was caught off guard and asked her what she meant. She stated there was a reservation in an hour and 15 minutes and wanted to make sure we would be finished by then. I awkwardly nodded in disbelief and we were sat. Great new restaurant in the Patterson Park neighborhood. The food is wonderful, we took our family of 6 and we all loved our entrees! The design is fresh, with sweet nods to their name- 3 Birds. The service was outstanding, we felt well cared for. We had two little ones in our group and although it is usually a challenge to keep them entertained at a restaurant - that wasn't an issue either as the restaurant has a whole menu of activities that they can choose from. (Cleaver concept and well executed! ) We will definitely be going back- often! read more
