I love this little cafe. What's not to love? The food is always excellent. I mean, really good! Lunch, breakfast; everything is very tasty and well prepared! The owner is onsite and so friendly and accommodating, as well as the other staff. This place is a jewel among the pines up here. Today I had the meat lovers omelet -keto style- for breakfast. Terrific!! My husband had the country omelet with a pumpkin pancake. Excellent! We are never disappointed when we eat here. read more

We ordered lunch to go and it was pretty good. I realize many places are short staffed but here it seemed they were running around a little aimlessly at times. Lots of stopping and talking to locals for awhile when they were super busy, I can say this because it took awhile before I was even acknowledged to have come in the door and then 35-40 minutes to get my to go order. read more

Its CLEAN......actually beyond clean....what a relief when your driving to phoenix to find a restaurant that one can eat at and feel good about driving several hundred miles without worry about finding the nearest clean rest stop down the road...Foods ok to real good....works for me....just grateful that they are there!!!! This place was a great stop for breakfast. The service was amazing. The food was delicious (eggs benedict, pancakes, omelette). They were so helpful and very friendly. I always appreciate a place where the people working at the restaurant are familiar with the menu items (it's a sign that they eat there as well). As of today, they don't require masks but are still practicing the social distancing and sanitizing. Including, serving our breakfast in to-go boxes which made no difference because it was delicious!!! If ever I pass thru again, I'm definitely adding a stop here to my trip. read more

Had a great breakfast at Three Bears yesterday. Other reviews have alluded to slower service, guessing they are trying to be on city time when they should be enjoying the slower paced mountain time. The place is small but fun inside. Make sure to sign in on the notebook to get yourself a table. We were seated after a short wait and offered drinks right away. While they were busy we didn't have to wait too long for anything. I ordered an apple juice and the white capped French toast. The French toast was smothered in whipped cream, nuts, and fruit and was quite delicious. I also ordered a half side of the biscuits and gravy as Michelle said it was a specialty. Boy was she right. Hands down best biscuits and gravy I've had in years. They have a nice kids menu, our son got the best shaped pancake. Their pancakes are delicious, their batter is made fresh with each order. My wife ordered the country fried steak and she definitely enjoyed it. My mother got a half order of the biscuits and gravy meal, came with eggs and their rosemary breakfast potatoes. This wasn't on the menu but was the perfect portion for a smaller appetite. We didn't have any but they have a fresh pie made daily and cheese cake. When visiting Heber/Overgaard this is a must try for breakfast. read more

This place was recommended to us by many. We waited over 1/2 hour for a table. Once we sat down we waited another 20 minutes for service all the while watching the staff talking and going to other tables. Once we ordered it took over an hour to get our food. People around us were even commenting on how long it was taking. 2 parties wound up leaving. When we finally got our food it was cold and the bacon was not fully cooked. Hopefully they fix things because all in all the food is probably really good. read more

Stopped on our way to Albuquerque. Service was awesome! They had a special of orange marmalade stuffed french toast. Didnt sound good to me so i tried it to challenge myself. My wife and I were heading home from to the valley from Show Low. We saw the sign and stopped in very hungry. I love breakfast and one of my go-to's is Country Fried Steak and eggs. So I would consider myself a Country Fried Steak aficionado. They guys nailed it! The gravy was just right, not too flowery or salty. The best part though was the steak quality! The meat was really really good! No chewy stuff and lots of flavor! My wife got the Breakfast Burrito with turkey sausage and she was really impressed as well! Both plates were more than enough as far as portion goes. We both got breakfast for under $30 with tip and coffee. The staff was warm and friendly and they were doing a great job! Can't say enough good things about this restaurant! My husband & I spent Christmas between Heber & Payson. Driving east one day on our trip, we figured we would stop in Heber for some food. This little gem exceeded our expectations! I have enjoyed reading all the previous reviews - we are all on the same page - this place needs to stay in Heber! Future trips out east will HAVE to incorporate a stop here. We had the chicken pot pie - special of the day. Come to find out our wait staff was Michelle the owner (Mama Bear), & she personally makes the chicken pot pies! We really enjoyed talking with her & hearing about the journey that led her family to open the restaurant. She suggested dessert for us to try. She also mentioned their breakfasts, so we decided that if dinner was this good, we needed to come back to have their french toast, pancakes, & biscuits & gravy. So the next morning, we headed back for more! Michelle helped us 'customize' our menu options so we could try a bit of everything. We love that hospitality from any restaurant. Over the weekend, November 2016, I went to several local restaurants and this one had such a hometown feel that made me smile. The food was well prepared and even when a dish was not up to my standards, they replaced the item to something different without charging extra. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and kind to all that walked into their restaurant. I felt as though I could take my time and did not feel rushed.
