had a solid dinner here, prices were fair, service was good. no complaints other than the asparagus could have used some more seasoning (or any seasoning at all?? lol) interior isn't anything exciting or special, just a good standard restaurant that i believe does a breakfast buffet which sounds great!

Fun craft cocktails and good food. Very impressed with the Mediterranean hummus and the bison and elk skewers were yummy (could have used a dash more seasoning but tender and very good). Isaac was a fantastic bartender and showed a lot of pride in making good craft cocktails. They were delicious! The Maple old fashioned was delicious as well. He also let us sample his clarified margarita and it was so smooth and so delicious! Will definitely go back before we leave.

Absolutely LOVED this place. The ambience is cozy and homey and old school. The decor feels like country, with wooden tables and chairs, as well as booth seating. The food was delicious on the whole. One thing I'll say is that the pita was a bit hard and stale. We were so full after eating our apps and entrees that we were bummed we couldn't get dessert. Shoutout to 6'7" Kevin for being a great server.

Plenty of options to choose from (we only came here for breakfast). Our breakfast voucher from the lodge covered up to $10 on the menu and a drink. Our breakfast items ranged from English muffin breakfast sammies, breakfast burritos, western omelette, huckleberry pancakes, biscuits and gravy, etc. They did have a breakfast buffet for $14.95 advertised as one of the options one day. Even with short staffing, it took less than 45 minutes from sitting, ordering, to finishing. The restaurant was never full most days and the bear decor cute. I was informed that they no longer have bison sausage on the menu (like the online menu suggests). 2023 #42

We stopped here during our cross-country move before our trip to Yellowstone the next day. We were very pleasantly surprised! This was one of the only places that had vegetarian options in an area full of BBQ/burger restaurants. My partner got the bison burger and enjoyed it; I got the marinara pasta and the eggplant fries with aioli. I highly recommend the eggplant fries; they reminded me of the zucchini fritters my mom would make growing up. The chef was greeting customers and I overheard that they make everything fresh in-house; "scratch made". Service was friendly and our takeout order was out quickly.

We walked by 2 days earlier. THE SMELL!!! We banked all our morals on the fact that 3 bear was going to be the spot! Disclaimer: You need to know we had been living in an RV. We opted for 1 dinner on this trip at a restaurant while on the road. Our hopes were high, our appetites' ready. Montana- thinking the meat has to be good, right?! WRONG. 3 bear was not the place. The smell may be luring but the meal fell flat. The steak was pricey for being very fatty and lacking flavor. My husband was disgusted by his meal. I have thoughts about places that serve a baked potato and doesn't take the time to lob on butter and sour cream. Instead it was served (at a high cost) with butter packets and sour cream packets. LAME! The decor is outdated, thing early 80's country. The booths are very tight. The salad was sup par. This place is a tourist trap and 3 bears should tear it apart!

Kevin was our waiter. He was friendly and explained the food options. The food came out really fast! And even though he was busy he kept checking in with us. We tried the soup of the day... cauliflower something. It was good. The best part was the bison ribeye. It was done med well (more medium) and was flavorful. I had the chicken and mashed potatoes. The chicken portion was larger than expected. The mashed potatoes were homemade and I love that it is full of potato chunks. We ended with an apple Brown Betty. It's huge! We could share it easily and still couldn't finish it! The servers were nice and the manager helpful when we had a small issue that he was so kind to address. In addition it's a quaint place that is western style decor. It's nice and clean as well. I love that they have cloth napkins! Thanks, Kevin for a nice evening!

With our expectations in check, we chose this restaurant for last nights supper. What a pleasant surprise!! The menu was comprised of interesting dishes that you won't find every day. The service was spot on. Knowledgeable, friendly, patient, welcoming. Our dishes were a pure delight. We enjoyed Idaho trout, bison steak, their speciality salad, and blueberry bread pudding. Every dish was delightful; fresh, full of local flavors. If you visit West Yellowstone, this place is the second most important destination right after the park!

The Huckleberry lemonade was very good and was recommended. While Reis was good, the asparagus and mashed potatoes were very good. The bison tenderloin was good, but I think it's better served as a ground meat in a burger form. It was tender, but not as flavorful as some of the other bison, I've recently had. The ambience is a pub/bistro setting. The service was exceptional as my server attended to me several times to check in on how was my meal

The squeeze and I shared the pulled pork samminch with onion rings on the side. It also comes with slaw. I ordered a cup of bison chili as well. The slaw was white cabbage that had a hint of horseradish bite. The chili was good, had a hint of heat. The pulled pork lacked its own flavor profile. The BBQ sauce made it enjoyable. The onion rings were okay. Pretty much a 3 star meal, but our server, Liliana (spelling) made it a 4. Fast service.

I saw hand cut fries on the menu and ordered those as a side. They brought an order to our table, but it was actually for another table, and I spied that the fries were prepared horribly. That dark brown color that comes from not knowing how to remove the excess starch, having the wrong fry oil temperature, etc., etc.. These were really really bad looking, brown fries. And so I quickly said "oh let me cancel my order of fries" ( because I knew I wouldn't be eating these) and they said "oh your fries are already in the fryer. We cannot cancel them"; so I said "OK. Fine bring them". And then I didn't touch them, but I just planned to pay for them. I'm going to show you photos from my home of the way I make fries. You see, I lived in Holland for several years and they take their potatoes very seriously over there and I became addicted to fries that were golden in color and not burned. So they sat uneaten. But when our real waitress came around to ask how everything was, I told her that the fries were burned and she kindly removed them and did not charge for them. So five stars for service. The chili was good. Profound cumin flavor. Several types of beans. But. If you don't like cumin, this is not for you. It's essentially a cumin stew.

Our server was very friendly and conversational and recommended some of their best meals. We went with the elk ravioli and lasagna. The ravioli was good but the lasagna was very oily which was a bit off-putting. "The revolution will not be televised And will not star…read moreNatalie Woods and Steve McQueen or Bullwinkle and Julia" (Gil Scott-Heron) Dinner at Bullwinkle's was a very pleasant experience. First of all, we were thrilled to see it was open, as so many of West Yellowstone's restaurants had already closed for the season. It was a real neighborhood kind of a place, and by that I mean totally unpretentious and without any of the foo-foo fanciness that pops up in resort towns now and again. Their menu was solid -and concentrated on burgers, sandwiches, steaks, local elk, bison and walleye, and Italian Pasta with a "Montana Twist". More on that soon. We started off with a complimentary basket of house baked bread that was so good it just about disappeared in ten minutes. I felt like having a beer, so checked out their beer list of local beers before choosing a Halo Huckleberry Hefe ($6) by Lewis and Clark Brewing of Helena, Montana. Huckleberry is a local specialty, and nearly every gift shop sold jam, jelly, honey, and candies made from it. We both love Italian food, so we zeroed in on those Italian Pasta with a Montana Twist specialties. My wife chose the Bolognese ($23.99) for "Elk and bison meat sauce tossed with rigatoni pasta and topped with shaved Parmesan cheese." I went with the Meatballs ($24.99) for "Elk and bison meatballs tossed with bucatini pasta and house-made marinara sauce". Wowie... were both dishes great. The Elk and Bison tasted pretty close to beef, and I have to say my meatballs were excellent. I tried a bite of the Rigatoni Bolognese and it was also excellent. The house made marinara was a standout. Our server Emily was a charmer and really enhanced our dining experience. Simply put, we loved Bullwinkles and thought a $57 dinner with a drink and great food is a very solid value.

We were very thankful it was still open as late in the season as it was. But we walked in, were greeted warmly and took a seat in their spacious dining room. Our server Hollie was prompt and friendly and took our two orders. My wife went for a Classic Cheeseburger ($16.99) with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle spear, a choice of cheese (Cheddar, Pepper Jack, American, or Blue Cheese), and a side of house made chips. We were stunned to see the burger was in reality a DOUBLE burger, so the portion was very large, and those home made potato chips were sensational. I went with the Fish Tacos ($17.99) with Mahi-Mahi Fish, Shredded Cabbage, Pico de Gallo, Red Pepper Crema, Flour Tortillas, Tortilla Chips & Salsa. There were three very large tacos with plenty of fish and were delicious. The weak link was clearly the tortilla chips which suspiciously looked like they were from a bag of Tostitos. Our very enjoyable dinner ran around $36 after tax/before tip. PRO TIPS Attention gambling fiends! There is a casino room in the restaurant with seven slot-type machines and an ATM machine. In search of restrooms? You'll have to physically leave the restaurant through a back door into the Holiday Inn property. The restrooms are in a hallway at the Holiday Inn.
