I took a risk today and decided to cheat on my normal eyebrow lady and I don't regret it. I recently moved to the area and I was finding it inconvenient to drive 30+ minutes to my old salon in Roger's Park. I take my eyebrows seriously so I did alot of research before choosing this place. I booked an appointment beforehand because based on reviews from both Yelp and Google, they book up fast - especially the specific person I wanted to book with. You can also pay online - a feature they created for contactless service which is convenient during this pandemic. Once you walk in, you're required to sign in and can take a seat. The salon itself was nicely decorated and very clean. It gave a nice relaxing, zen vibe. They prioritize those with reservations so I can't speak for how long the wait is without an appointment. The lady at the front desk was very nice and polite. She had very good customer service, guiding customers to their chairs. My impression thus far is very positive. Based on reviews I booked with Sweety and I don't regret it one bit! She snapped on my eyebrows. I wish I took a picture before she did them. I had grown them out for 2-3 months so they were very messy. She was so nice and greeted me and asked me how I was. She asked me what I would like to be done. I told her I was growing them out so I wanted to keep the thickness and that my main priority was just a clean up. My only complaint is how rough she was threading. I don't know if I was just sensitive because I haven't gone in a while but it was kind of aggressive. I managed through it. But you can tell she knows what she's doing and has her techniques. She made my eyebrows crispy compared to how they were before. She did an amazing job on restoring my eyebrow arches/shape. I will continue to book with her! I'm so happy with my results!! read more

the shape of my brows are great, but the lady towards the other end who did my brows hurt my skin so much with the threading. I'm confused why that was, but my eyebrow was so inflamed and puffy for half hour after. While she was doing my left eyebrow, her thread kept going INSIDE MY RIGHT EYEBALL. She also cut my inner right eyelash in the process. My sister later said she actually visited this place before, and same thing happened to her and she never came back. I asked for a shape up and the woman in the third chair COMPLETELY took away the middle of both of my eyebrows MADE THEM EXTREMELY thin and one that looks like a line completely awful. Threading concepts was recommended by a friend so I gave them a couple of tries and I've never regretted something more in my life. Every time I've been there someone has been rude or dismissive. While I can understand that the workers do not have enough time to spare, since that place runs like a factory shop, I would hope that the owner, Pilar, would make up for it. HOWEVER, Pilar was the RUDEST AND SUPET STANDOFFISH. While this place might be locationally convenient for people, I do not recommend it. Their threading skills are not sufficient enough to treat their customers with such rudeness. They understand that they are centrally located and will take advantage of that. My eyebrows aways look great afterwards, the shop is always packed especially on weekends so I doubt they really care about the reviews on here. My only complaint is that most of these ladies are pretty cold and just get straight to the point. Typical, " hello, how are you...sit down..hold this eye....you like..have a good day" kind of service. No eye contact, no interest in the client...just straight to the point. This certainly is not the worst place for threading, definitely running middle of the pack for me. Only major perk is that it's close to home for me. Lately, every time I've been there it's seemed like there are so many people waiting, but I'm in a chair about 10 minutes later. They are fast and efficient- but I do notice that they leave some stray hairs more often than not. Upon her returning to the front desk she asked if I had an appointment to which I said no since I understood walk in were welcomed. This place is a hit or miss. I usually come here just due to the convenience. I never really get good customer service, but to be frank, I really hate it when people talk to me while I'm getting a service from them. I just don't like the fact they're chatting with each other while threading my eyebrows. I've been coming to them since they were just a stand outside before they actually got a storefront. More often than not, I leave relatively pleased. However, lately I've been feeling let down. They like to rush through threading my face when they're busy, and will often instead wax my face since its quicker, which causes me to break out terribly. I went in today hoping to see the regular person that does my eyebrow who always manages to do a great job without me having to tell her how I want them. I got called to the fourth chair and I saw someone totally different that I have never seen from the 6 months I have been going here, I did not really mind at first but I was scared she might mess up my eyebrows but I thought they hired her for a reason, so I sat down and laid back. it was sort of my fault for not telling her how I wanted them but the way she treated me was not my fault. My eyebrows are naturally thick all I needed done was to get my eyebrows cleaned up. So I sat there and put my hands in the usual position you put them and she kept telling me "HOLD" over and over again which I was but then it was like as if she lost her patience and she grabbed my hand really tightly it hurt to place it the way she wanted. she kept doing this several times and not once did I complain I got up from my chair and my eyebrows were thinner than a pencil! she got rid of excess eyebrow. I had deal with her rude attitude and the string size eyebrows she gave me. If you don't want to deal with rude attitude and thin eyebrows I do not recommend going to the lady with short thick damaged ish hair and glasses that has a wide body, She does not do a great job. read more

Been here a few times. Today was my 3rd time. The ladies are good with the thread, although i wish they'd use a tweezer for the lone hairs that are put of place and too close to the shaped eyebrow. For the eyebrow threading i give then 4*. However, today i tried temporary eyelashes. The same lady who did my eyebrows, did my eyelashes. She did great, but she put on medium length. I told her i only wanted more volume, not length. When she was done, they were way too long, she said she can trim them. I said ok, not knowing any better ... So now they are at an OK length, but its sooo obvious they have been trimmed. Looks awkward. It's ok that they are only temporary, 1-2 weeks they said. We'll see how it goes. read more

I usually get my eyebrows done at this place I decided to get my eyebrows done with Jolpa the assigned person to do so I told her that I just need a clean up but instead she took off most of my eyebrows and not giving it same the form that my eyebrows had before. The workers also don't listen to the customers, they are rude and usually are doing something else on my eyebrows instead what I asked for. They also have no respect for customers because they always talk over the customers while they're doing their job in-front of people. While I was trying not to have the same disrespectful attitude towards the workers even though I got upset I gave her a tip and went to pay the manager. And the manger was also rude as everyone else she had no customer service skills. Avoid getting lash lift from Jalpa !! I still feel my eyes burning as I'm writing this review!! The whole experience was painful and uncomfortable from the beginning of the process. I thought I though it out a bit, as I expected a beautiful result like I had at another place I had gone to before by my old neighborhood. Almost done, when she starts applying the tint to my lashes. That's when my eyes started going on fire as she applied tint to my roots and it started leaking into my eyes!!! Felt like she rubbed the spiciest chilly peppers on both top and bottom lids!!! I asked her to remove it immediately, without losing my cool as she is pregnant. So the nightmare doesn't end with water dripping all over my face and neck. ( I think she panicked and squeezed water into my eyes with cotton or something). She then shows me the horrible results! My lashes looked tangled, over processed, fried and all different shapes and going all different directions! She then calls the manager Sweety and she comes in takes a look , and acts dumb as if she can't see what I see ! Not an apology from her, just dishonesty to try to cover up for her coworker! That's when I snapped, and I told her I wasn't going to pay just to get my eyelashes ruined and my eyes chemically burned!!! Never again, and I will be reporting to the BBB. And they better hope my eyes are ok by tomorrow!! How is she even licensed? She did everything wrong! I typically do not write reviews. However, after the less than mediocre customer service I experienced I felt obliged to inform others on my horrible experience. I have been coming to threading concepts for many years. As I've done before I walked in without an appointment. There are no signs regarding appointments or that appointments are even taken even if you have waited a significant amount of time . I have no problem waiting, I've done so many times. After waiting 30 minutes and seeing my eyebrow specialist finish the last person she had I stood up assuming I was next, as I was keeping count of who arrived when. To my dismay a woman, whom later identified herself as Pilar and as the owner, condescendingly says to me "no not you she's next." I informed her I arrived first and she stated the woman had an appointment. I followed up with simply stating that I was unaware appointments were being taken and had I known she had an appointment I would have left and returned. Unsure why she became hostile she aggressively told me "I've had a problem with you before!" Mind you this is the first time I have encountered her or had an issue there. I was so stunned I just replied, "I've never had an issue here I think you're confusing me."Rather than show any sort of customer service skills or professionalism she continued being rude. I informed her I would be writing a review about my experience and she yelled letting me know I was no longer welcome there - as if I would return when the owner acted so unprofessionally. I don't think she understands that being professional and treating clients with respect is what fuels your business. If common courtesy is not of concern then get serviced there otherwise give your support to someone who appreciates their clientele.
