This is honestly the best hair salon I have ever been to. Lindsay is such a dedicated hair stylist. I went to get my hair done at another hair salon and they messed up my hair and charged me $300 for nothing. I went to Lindsay and she fixed my hair and charged less than half of that! Le & Be is an amazing hair and nail salon...Lindsay is my favorite hairstylist ever! She is super friendly and takes the time to talk to you and figure out exactly what you want. She always tells me what she plans on doing before she starts cutting to make sure we're on the same page. Then she'll take you to the shampoo room for a relaxing and soothing shampoo and scalp massage. Probably my favorite part of the experience =) I never worry when getting my hair cut by Lindsay...she knows what she's doing and I know that it'll look great! They use Paul Mitchell products and seem to have a pretty large color bar where you can see them mix the color in front of you. They also offer manicures and pedicures (but I haven't tried it out yet). I did take a glance at their nail polishes and they have tons of colors and some Essie polishes too (which I love!). Been here a few times for coloring and have failed to write a review - what's wrong with me? First off, come here if you need to find a great colorist/stylist. My girl, Lindsay is 'thee' woman! Not only does she give orgasmic scalp massages when you get your hair shampooed by her, she is a coloring genius! Be prepared to show Lindsay some pictures of what you are looking for because lets face it, we're not all that great in describing what we want. I love that Le & Be uses great products on my hair so it doesn't damage even more like these other salons out there. I've gotten the balayage and peek-a-boo highlights with Lindsay and I absolutely love her - she's fun/witty and talented. Horrible! the guy was very helpful helping me to pick out a color, but that's about it. I got acrylic nail done on Friday and 2 of them popped off on Tuesday! I was so mad, not only that, my co worker thought it was one of those press-on set. she didn't speak English which I didn't know at first but after I asked her not to do them to thick she just knotted her head and continued making them thick. Went over there in April for a mani/pedi. Not a bad place, but don't let Jimmy work on you! I don't think he has much experience--fairly rough (my heel was actually scraped and raw--which I didn't realize until later). I too wasn't sure about the condition of his tools, either...shouldn't the cutting edges/what comes into contact with the customer be in the blue stuff? But he did get all of the callouses off my admittedly bad feet (hence the scrape), and applied the polish precisely. But they didn't provide me with the little flip floppy things until AFTER the pedi--I had to walk across the floor in bare feet. Price wasn't bad and the color stayed for a couple weeks, though. read more

I am so happy I stumbled upon Le & Be. Mary is an amazing stylist who took her time and made sure to give me the exact haircut I wanted. I have very long hair and I was afraid to loose a lot of length but I knew it was time to get rid of some damaged ends. Mary took such great care in cutting my hair, trimming the damaged ends but maintaining the length. She also gave me long layers that framed my face beautifully. Le & Be is so much reasonable in price and did a fab job on my hair. Lindsey is great and the hostess was also awesome. For new clients you pay 35$ for your first cut awesome!! You enter a washing station which seems like a spa and you get the best shampooing and head massage, literally you will fall asleep. I love this place! It's close to my house and they're pretty accommodating. I get my eyebrows done here and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I'm usually in and out of here within 15 minutes and they're always so nice. I met one of the owners, Le, and she remembers me every time. I definitely recommend this place. I haven't had any other services other than waxing but I'm sure if this one's great, then other services must be too. I would like to preface this review by saying I've been to ALOT of nail salons and before moving back to Chicago had found the most perfect of them all so maybe nothing will compare. However, I DO NOT recommend this salon for nails. I can't speak to the hair stylist as I did not have services done, but she was there with another client and seemed to be pretty attentive and knowledgeable to that client. PROS: They are a friendly place and had time for a walk in / non-appt. They did offer me a drink, but it was in a glass. Given this is a place where dust and debris is airborn, I prefer an enclosed lid on my drink. They had the big massage chairs and the chairs seemed to be in good working condition. Did I say they were friendly? CONS: I got probably they're 'backup' guy for being a walk-in. He was terrible. His nails were unkept and dirty - I thought I was in a nail salon? He mumbled - I couldn't understand a word he said He was a poor masseuse - too fast and inconsistent, non-attentive He used LYSOL to "disinfect" the instruments - WTF? This is a chemical that is harmful to your health AND all he did was spray the tools in the air - no washing whatsoever - GROSS! Poor painting job - I will have to redo myself again at home Lotion used smells like grandmas old perfume - I've scrubbed my hands 3 times and can't get the scent to dissipate. He filed my nails with a used nail file - Absolutely should not happen. The jar of tools had that blue solution in it and the bottom of the glass looked like a science experiment. Their floor and surrounding equipment was dusty and dirty. While it might be regularly swept, you could tell it was not regularly scrubbed clean. I was grossed out during my whole visit. I cannot believe they're still doing nails. For someone that has gotten infected nails twice by salons - this one ranks second to last on my list of nail salons and I would not be surprised if another one came my way after this visit. I really like to give small businesses a chance and know a business like this is hard to maintain, but if you can't do it, then you should be in another business. I canceled my third service because the whole experience just grossed me out - I had to leave. While they were nice, nice doesn't keep your salon clean. #grossedout read more

For example, I am a young male whom never had a mani or pedi before. I was sort of shy and nervous at the same time. While I waited in the chair, I was asked my beverage preference. That was awesome having free coffee or tea!! I was introduced to Jennifer who completed my Pedi. She was amazing and is an expert at nails/massage. She also has a brother (only guy who works there) that is great also at pedicures! PLEASE do not go here they may probably be good at doing nails but they cannot do hair ! I asked for a gray bayalage and she told me it was a process since I have dark hair which I understood. I think her name is Marie she told me to buy the purple shampoo and she said she would order it for me which she never did... I called her to ask her to make my hair more gray she said the shampoo would do that but it turned my hair green it wasn't even a bayalage she missed a huge chunk of hair. She charged me two hundred dollars.. I didn't trust her after that fixing my hair so I went to gallery of hair and she did this in four hours for 110. They said they couldn't give my money back because it's been five weeks but really it's been like 2 or 3. Then one of the workers there came out to get my license number which is not even mine it's my friends. Got my hair done here a couple of weeks ago. Was a bit nervous because I've not had my hair cut in a very long time. Looovveed this place. Such friendly customer service and the shampooing was to die for.
