Shanaz delivers quality work. I love seeing her for my eyebrows. She takes clients from her home and her space is clean. I love how precise she gets when threading my brows. She is the only specialist I've seen so far that can make my brows close to equal in shape. She takes cash only and it's $12. Affordable with quality work. Call or text her!! read more

Shanaz is the loveliest lady. She takes her time with threading and has a great eye for the brow shape that will best suit your face. I found Shanaz probably 6.5 years ago now? I wanted to try threading and ended up finding her here on Yelp. I should have made this review years ago but better late than never! Seriously so happy to have found her and haven't trusted anyone else besides her with my brows for the past 6 or so years! So sweet, best pricing and takes care of you like family :) read more

If you were a regular client of Shanaz prior to the pandemic, or even a potential client looking for a new salon, look no further! She is in business! I have trusted Shanaz and only Shanaz with my face for nearly 10 years. Her expertise and service are unmatched. With 50+ years experience, she is the absolute best at what she does and leaves me overflowing with confidence after every visit. Not to mention she has the biggest heart and imparts the greatest life advice. When I finally felt comfortable to return to her after the height of the pandemic, I was overjoyed when I learned she was still threading. Same as before, she keeps her space very clean and sanitized. She did wear a face mask to keep me and herself safe. Shanaz's phone number did change, so the number on this page is current. I was able to schedule a next-day appointment with her with ease, and seeing her again after over a year still brought me just as much joy as the first time I visited her. read more

I needed to have my eyebrows threaded for the 1st time. I'm very sensitive to pain and did a lot of research on places I should go to. I've never done threading before. I came across Shanaz based on the high reviews and decided to call and make an appointment. Shanaz is such a sweet lady! When I 1st spoke to her on the phone she asked if this would be my 1st time getting my eyebrows threaded. She gave me tips prior to my appointment to help with the transition and ease the pain I may experience. It was easy to make an appointment with her and she's very accommodating! Shanaz works from her home and her work space was intimate, professional, and clean. She's very friendly and makes you feel welcomed. I could tell right away that she's an expert on what she does as she works really quick like 10 min but also took the time to walk me through the process and answered all the questions I had. After seeing her, I would NEVER go to anyone else to have my eyebrows threaded. The reviews about her are legit and I would highly recommend her business to those who prefer a pleasant threading experience. 5 out of 5 stars :) read more

I had to grow my brows out for months because the last person I went to made them so thin. Sometimes the problem with going to bigger named places is you get a different person doing your brows almost every time (no matter how many times you request for the same person). I love that I know what to expect with Shanaz. She explains the process and takes her time. She's very precise! She offers other threading services too (such as upper lip). Note - you have to call for directions, she works out of her home so her address isn't on yelp. Happy threading! read more

What a sweetheart ! After having a traumatic experience from a previous threading place, I was hesitant to try a new one. Low and behold, I discovered Shanaz (Thank you Yelp !) I had no clue her business was done at her home and when she informed me of it, I was a bit surprised. There were so many rave reviews (ALL 5 STARS) and they were legitimate customers. I like to do my research first and after doing so I contacted Shanaz via phone to make an appt. Wow ! It was quick and easy ! She was able to see me the same day even though it was so last minute. She was very helpful and friendly on the phone. She explained that her address is not found via Yelp since it's at her private residence, but she was able to provide me excellent directions. The best part is she lives so close to me and it's super convenient. Once you enter her home you really feel welcome ! She is a sweet lady and you can tell she enjoys what she does. I immediately felt comfortable as if she was like family. I loved that. She has a room up front strictly for threading and it's very inviting and professionally set-up. Nothing shady here folks. She explained the process to me and asked me questions making sure I achieve the look I wanted. I can tell she really wanted to do a good job to make me happy and wasn't rushing to get my threading done. I appreciated that. You don't get that often at other threading places. I didn't feel like a number. I felt like family ! :) I have very sensitive skin, but I didn't get a bad reaction from her threading, which I did last time from another threading store. Shanaz knew about my traumatic experience and assured me everything would be okay and that definitely calmed my nerves. She was very sanitary and professional. She took the time to ask me in between threading if I was fine with the shape of my eyebrows and if I was feeling okay. It was painless and very relaxing ! I also got my forehead and upper/lower lips threaded and was pleased with the outcome. Overall, 5 STARS !!! She truly is the best at threading that I have come across and will continue to go to her. At the end of the session, she applied aloe vera to my skin and I was done. It was such a painless and pleasant experience !!! Almost forgot to pay since we ended up chit-chatting and hugging goodbye as if she was my cool aunt Shanaz. Hehe. She charges pretty reasonable too !! Totally worth it in my opinion ! I can't wait to go back ! I'm no longer traumatized from threading ! Thanks Shanaz !!! read more

So it's kinda shady going to some strangers house to get your brows shaped... But I took a leap of yelpie faith because my eyebrows needed it and I saw a lot of great ratings Eyebrows are 10 bucks Cash only Hurts as much as any threading ever does She is extremely precise and sweet She kept my eyebrows thick how I like them and didn't change the shape or take too much off Would go back read more

Shanaz has an amazing skill - percise, patient and just the best. Not to mention being just a flat out a great person. She welcomes you into her own home and makes you very comfortable in the most professional but lax way. Clear and patient - Concerns? She'll squash those. Wax? Never too hot. Treading? Patient and gets it all, all with such ease - truly a skill. Oh, want to come in today or tomorrow? She always has time. And the price? Killer reasonable! Also did anyone know about her nails? Didn't think so!! Not only does she make her own wax but her own acrylic nail colors! Coming from someone who detests nail salons since my figers are big jointed, they NEVER get the shape straight and correct. Her patience truly shows in everything. Thanks Shanaz never stop being amazing! read more

I have visited some of the local San Diego threading places in search of a close equivalent to my usual spots back in Cerritos (Los Angeles County). The city of Cerritos prides itself on Little Bombay, which has a wide selection of threading salons and indian food needs. Since moving to San Diego, I've found only a couple of threading salons that were satisfactory at best. They did their job, but usually I felt like they rushed with the job (threading so fast that they break the string and ensure a couple of sharp jabs to my closed eye, along with my unhappy discovery of extra hairs that I would have to come home and pluck). I'm Asian - aka: I'm naturally not that hairy - but the eyebrows/ lip/ chin do tend to get a little fuzzy time to time. In need of a dire threading job, I decided to scour North County Yelp for other options with threading. Yelp led me to Shanaz, my new Threading Auntie, and my new go-to threading place. This was truly a great find, and I'm happy to continue with and refer her business to others. First, scheduling. I called on whim after discovering her yelp page. She was very friendly when answering the phone, and she offered to schedule at my convenience. I inquired whether she was able to see me today, and she said I could come in 10 minutes. Amazing! Literally. I called at 4:00 with inquiry, and I was there at 4:15 on the same day. Shanaz runs her business from her home but has a room set aside for her business. It's clean, inviting, and has a table set up for waxing and threading needs. I was a little hesitant at first going to someone's personal place of residence, but she was very welcoming. It has a nice touch to welcome clients into your home for one-on-one servicing. Second, quality of job performed. I mentioned above that Shanaz created a feeling very much like she was my aunt. She was gentle, careful and detail oriented. You get the feeling like a family member is helping you, instead of a business that is just rushing to get the job done for the money. She made sure that every fine and unwanted hair was removed in a perfect shape. Generally, I feel like I'm an easy thread job since I (a) don't have too much unwanted hair and (b) I have my eyebrows tattooed. Shanaz took her time, let me know what she was doing, inquired to the desired shape of eyebrow, etc. I honestly felt like she was family. Finally, price. The price is competitive to the other local salons. I would say the price matches (if I recall correctly). But when you consider the quality and warmth you receive for the same price, Shanaz definitely outranks the local salons I have discovered in San Diego. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the experience. I received one-on-one personal and almost familial service; the price was reasonable; the quality was outstanding. I really enjoyed my time and experience with Shanaz, and as mentioned, I refer her business for threading needs. It appears that she also handles waxing and other hair removal services. Definitely give her a call and come check her out. 5 stars from my end and very much recommended. read more

If your kid is contemplating on getting her eyebrows done, take her to Shanaz instead of your child making a mistake by messing with them herself behind your back. Please it's a great mother-daughter experience, beginning the evolution from child to little woman. Glad my daughter opened up to me about her insecurities, that she wants her eyebrows cleaned up so I took her to Shanaz and Shanaz was so awesome at comforting my daughter and giving her a lesson on just cleaning up the eyebrows and keeping her natural arch. She definitely gave my daughter a standard on how her eyebrows should be and I am so glad My daughter heard it from a professional!! My daughter only wants Shanaz to do her eyebrows and upper lip. After, my daughter had a stronger sense of confidence about her looks and I'm so pleased because it's all natural and no chemicals used. read more

I went to Shanaz after seeing lots of good reviews. I went to her today. Holy shit. She did amazing. Hands down I will be going back. Accurate and detailed worked. Not rushed at all. My old threading girl came to my house during the lockdown a while back because everything was closed and she was the only girl I had for a while however she was not as detailed as Shanaz. I would gladly drive to Shanaz's house and spend 10 minutes driving her place versus having a girl come to my house because Shanaz is that good. Truly hands-down the best Threading I have had as long as I can recall. Thank you Shanaz!!! read more

Shanaz is very professional, accurate, friendly, affordable and experienced. I have been going to her for quite some time (along with a lot of my friends) and have never once been disappointed. She does precision threading and waxing (she also makes her own water soluble sugar wax). I recommend her to all my friends and family. She makes you feel very comfortable and knows what she's doing (she has been waxing and threading for over 30 years). I recommend if you have never been to her before to just give her a call and schedule a date and time. You will be happy with the results! read more

Shanaz is amazing!!! She is fast as lightning with her Brazilian bikini waxes that I don't have time to feel pain or get shy. I have been going to her for years through a friend's referral and I haven't shaved my bikini line since. She taught me about the hair cycle and how if you wax vs. shaving the hair will eventually grow back finer and more sparsely...she's right! No more razor burn or stubble. She is a great conversationalist, too, so instead of squirming nervously we're chatting about movies like old friends. Her prices are reasonable, so it's totally worth the drive to PQ to see Shanaz! read more

I wish I had before and after pictures of my eyebrows. The befores were hideous. I didn't know what I was doing. And going to nail salons to have them waxed only made matters worse. Shanaz was sweet and kind. She did an amazing job on my eyebrows. In fact, the next day I was walking in the mall and a woman stopped me to compliment them. I am a forever customer now!! read more

She was very precise and wonderful! Her business is great, and she points out what she's going to do prior to threading. I thought this was very different compared to other threading places, and honestly I really liked it. I came in with my boyfriend, both got our eyebrows threaded! The price overall was cheap. Give her a call to book your appointment and pricing! read more

The other 90 reviews weren't kidding about this lady being so nice! She is so silly and welcoming! I was a little skeptical of going to her because her business is in her home but she has this room dedicated to threading which is great. I was out of town, so I hadn't been to Shanaz for my eyebrows in a while. The shape got all messed up over time and I had to start filling in my eyebrows with a pencil to even them out. I couldn't wait to come back to San Diego to have Shanaz fix up my eyebrows for me. I didn't think it would be possible for them to get back to normal in 1 sitting, however she totally reshaped my eyebrows with a beautiful arch to brighten up my face, perfect thickness and length. I saw my friends later and everyone was asking me if I did my makeup differently since just having such gorgeous eyebrows changed the look of my face. They were all want to go to Shanaz for their eyebrows now :) And I too hope I can maintain this lovely shape of my eyebrows until the next time I am able to make it down to see her! read more

Found her on Yelp and went to her office at her residence. Very polite and explained what she was going to do. The threading was a little more aggressive than I've experienced at other salons. As far as shaping, one side was a little higher than the other and of course will fill in, but this shouldn't happen with as many 5 stars reviews she has received. Be sure to tell her to go slow and explain exactly what you want. read more

Shanaz truly has a skill and she has been perfecting it for over 40+ years! She treats all her clients with care and makes them feel comfortable. She welcomes you into her lovely home and her designated beauty room is very clean and sanitized. She takes the time to discuss their options and what they would like. Eyebrows is an art form and you can trust Shanaz to be your artist. She really transforms your face with threading, the cleanest technique of shaping eyebrows originated in India. There must be a good reason why she has so many loyal clients who have been going to her for years :) read more

Shanaz is so great I made a yelp account just to rave about her! I've been going to Shanaz for my threading services and she does an absolutely fantastic job. She's had years of experience and it shows! I've gone to a few threading places in San Diego but after going to her she is now my official go to person! As soon as you walk into her place she makes you feel at home. There is something very warm and comfortable about her presence (which is important when you're about to get hairs ripped off your body!) Her work is meticulous and through but also gentle. She pays attention to detail and is also attentive to what you want done. Scheduling with her is very easy for someone who procrastinates like I do! She's been able to see me when it is easiest for me, and I appreciate that so much. Her pricing is also very fair. I would definitely recommend paying Shanaz a visit - I am certain that you'll feel the same way as I do :) read more

Shanaz is the real deal. I was super hesitant going to someone's house, but really, it's smack dab in the middle of the suburbs of Rancho PQ, so you can't be much safer. Her office is just to the right as you enter her front door. Shanaz is professional and meticulous. She takes her time and makes you feel completely at ease. (Oh, and she doesn't own any pets, so those of you with allergies, rest easy) I paid $17 for brows and lip. That is a bargain! The best thing about Shanaz is consistency. Like my fellow yelpers, I've been to just about every eyebrow place out there, the latest being Grace Threading. They're good, but not consistent as you may get someone different every time. Not with Shanaz. It's just her, and you'll be glad it is. She did a fantastic job cleaning up my brows, and keeping my natural arch, just as I asked. Cash only. read more

This review was long overdue. I have had the pleasure of working with Shanaz for the past year. When I first went to her my eyebrows were slowly disappearing from all the waxing I had done over time. She made them look presentable and then instructed me to grow them completely so we can start again. I looked like a hairy ferocious beast (haha just kidding) but I trusted that she knew what she was doing. I'm so glad that I listened to her all these months. My eyebrows are beautiful and full. I have been seeing Shanaz for about 13 years (whoa, just realized that), since my sophomore year in college. I was recommended to her by a sorority sister, and at that point she was a sorority secret! All of my sorority sisters went to her because she does a fabulous job at an amazing price! You can't beat $30 for eyebrows and bikini! A price like that usually barely covers an eyebrow wax/threading at a salon. I drive from La Jolla to Rancho Penasquitos to see Shanaz and she is so worth it. Her home and facility is totally clean, and she is very professional. She uses new and fresh supplies after every client and her wax is homemade all-natural sugar wax. I see her for both waxing and threading and I am in and out of her house in 30 minutes or less for an eyebrow threading and bikini wax. No one can shape my brows like Shanaz...she truly has an eye for the art of threading. I count her as one of my friends as well, and she is a real pleasure to talk to and visit every couple of weeks. I will never go anywhere else! Thank you Shanaz!!! read more

I haven't had my eyebrows threaded for about 2 years because I couldn't find anyone close that wasn't charging $40+ (CRAZY!). She reached out to me on Yelp and so I came by and SO glad I did. It was such a great experience. She was extremely nice and helpful. She made me feel very comfortable, as comfortable as one can feel while getting their eyebrow hairs pulled out. I have been going to Shanaz for the past 8 years now and I have never once regretted going to her! I have gone to a lot of different places to get my eyebrows threaded, and Shanaz is by far the best at what she does. She offers the cheapest prices and I feel the most comfortable when I go to her. I go to school 7 hours away from San Diego and kid me not, during the time that I am away, I refuse to get my eyebrows done until I am back in SD so that Shanaz can thread them. I really don't trust anyone other than her. I've recommended Shanaz to a ton of my friends and they have all loved her. She just understands what eyebrow shape works for different people. I mean, I have been going to her since I was in middle school and throughout the entire time she made sure that my eyebrow shape was appropriate for the age was. Shanaz is the best!!! My friend and I decided to get our eyebrows threaded a few months ago, so we've been letting our eyebrows get gross and nasty. We decided to get them threaded this week (cough work Christmas parties cough) and settled on trying with Shanaz. Well, we found out pretty quick WHY Shanaz has 5/5 stars. Even though we were calling in short notice, Shanaz was ready to take us the same day -- at whatever time WE were available. Whaaaaaaaaaat?! We decided to go a bit after work to avoid traffic and actually ended up at her location 30min early. Oops. Well, she didn't care that we had arrived early and was more than happy to take us in. Woohoo! It was our first time threading so she was very helpful in explaining the method, what to look for, and ways to make our brows the best that they can possibly be for our face shapes. It was incredibly informative and I loved every second of it. Shanaz is such a sweet and kind woman. I'll be honest: The threading hurt and I cried. LOL! It wasn't that much of a pain on my left brow (where I tweeze often), but it was pretty painful for my right brow (where I am lazier with tweezing because I just use my bangs to hide them ahem). She was very pleasant throughout all of it though and distracted me with conversations about movies I'd seen recently, what I was interested in seeing, movies SHE wanted to see, actors SHE loved -- it was really light-hearted and I quickly realized how sweet and silly she is! The threading didn't take that long to do (maybe 30min for both of us) and her price is ridiculously affordable. I'm just sad I didn't bring more spare cash to tip her!!! After she finished, my brows looked SO GOOD! I got them done on Thursday and filling them in has been a breeze... my brows are on fleek now, yo. I'll definitely be coming back again! read more

**This review is long overdue... I didn't even know she had a yelp page till I found it today** SHANAZ IS AN ARTIST Shinaz is so good that a straight dude in PB once told me I had the most beautiful eyebrows - the very same day I saw Shanaz. Has your eyebrow lady ever made this happen? Ive been going to Shanaz since 2005. In that time, I strayed a couple times only out of convenience to try a well known place that just opened up a block away from my house or a place close to work. Let me tell you, this made me appreciate Shanaz so much more. She actually knows what she is doing with the sugaring and threading. She can do this with her eyes closed. I appreciate how fast, thorough, professional and *painless (*as painless as a brazilian could be ) She is. I can go way longer between my appt's with her then the other spots. Not to mention the personalized 1:1 service you get, that you cant get anywhere else. She is so kind and always listens to what you want to make sure you are SO happy with your results and out in the world :) Whenever I want to feel really pretty and cleaned up I got to her in between waxes for my eyebrows, her work is amazing. She has the best prices in all of San Diego by far and is always willing to work with you to make an appt. Just be sure to bring cash. Try her, you will be so happy you did! note: Shanaz works out of her home, but dont let this scare you. Out of the 8 years Ive been going to her, Ive never seen anyone there. Need a quick thread or even a few areas done?! Shanaz can do it!! I love coming to her because she makes me feel so comfortable and always has me looking my top notch best! Her prices are one of the best in San Diego and her work is always on point. That "you get what you pay for" does not apply to Shanaz and her work, she gets it cleanedddd!
