I've been here twice, both times I had a brazilian wax, and upper lip/eyebrow threading - all of which, are painful in and of itself, but tolerable. My first trip to Thread, I had Bindu, who is AMAZING. Second time around, I had a different woman, can't remember her name, but she didn't have the same friendly manner as Bindu, and the brazilian wax wasn't as thorough. I have gone to this place twice now and each time felt extremely rushed. The woman did not take her time. I asked for her to kelp my eyebrows as thick as possible yet she took off a chunk of hair on one of my eyebrows so now it's uneven. I had my eyebrows threaded along with a brazilian wax. It was quick and they did a good job. The parking around there is not so good though on the street but there is garage nearby. The subway is very close too. The staff is friendly and the wait is not to long. The prices are affordable even though I got discount from groupon.com. But the prices are very good compared to other places and the facility is very clean and sanitary. I am definitely going back. Love it!!! read more

I know some people don't like it here, but I love it! I first went when I had a deal a year ago or so for a brazilian and an eyebrow threading. I was thrilled with both! They did a great job. Today I went in for an eyebrow threading - had N.C. - and she did a fabulous job! I was a little nervous as I had a different girl last time that I really liked, but I am so tickled with the results. No, it wasn't the most painless procedure, but I really needed to get threaded, so I didn't expect ecstasy. I found this place through TimeOut- "The best brow bars in NYC" I called to see if I could make an appointment and they told me for brows they take walk-Ins which was great. She did a really great job with my eyebrows. She trimmed, threaded, and aloed my eyebrows after. The only knit picky thing that I have is that I'm not sure if she sanitized her hands before threading. They have a $5 dollar min for debit cards, I didn't have cash so she suggested I buy a gift card for my next visit which was great because I didn't have to use an ATM. They also provide a rewards card and on your 7th visit you get them done for free. Overall great experience in and out in less than 8-10 min read more

This is really not the best eyebrow threading job I've ever had. My eyebrows are uneven despite attempts to fix it. Save your money and go elsewhere. It looks really nice inside but I came out looking worse than when I went in. :( read more

The threading options in the financial district are extremely limited, so I was happy to come across Thread. This place is great. It looks good and there is a wonderful scent that permeates the place. They do a great job cleaning and shaping eyebrows. I also get my entire face threaded, and they do a good job in making sure that no stray hairs are missed. They are careful and thorough, and the prices are reasonable. I went here the other day for a quick Brazilian during my lunch hour. The staff were all very friendly, and I was able to walk in and get it done with no wait. The waxing room was very private and I thought the ambience of the salon was great. My waxing technician was also incredibly efficient, and I was out within about 15 min. This is one of the worst services a woman can get, but they made it as bearable as possible. What would have been a 5 star rating has been reduced by 1 because they only offer one kind of wax. I have very, VERY sensitive skin and would typically get chocolate or a special wax formulated for sensitive skin. This was the first brazilian since my first brazilian (about 7 in between) where regular wax was used and I was more irritated than usual and for several days. Lesson learned? I would certainly go back if I needed to bite the bullet and get a wax yesterday during the work week, but ladies with sensitive skin, be warned. read more

I came here for a quick bikini wax. The woman was super friendly and gentle. I have pretty sensitive skin and I am very prone to ingrown hairs. However, my bikini wax was great - very little irritation. While I was there I also got my eye brows threaded and I am happy with my newly cleaned up brows too. I've been going to Tread for the better part of a year. They usually do a great job on my eyebrows. They are fast and efficient; and I can usually drop in without an appointment. That said, customer service is not great. For example, there have been times when I arrived before closing time, but they told me they were closed. read more
