I moved to Philadelphia for school and kept going back to NY to do my eyebrows out of fear that someone would destroy what my eyebrow lady and I have been able to maintain for years (especially since my eyebrows are naturally uneven). I finally relented and came here because of all the wonderful reviews. Today was my third time going and they did a great job again! I was feeling extra stressed and decided to pamper myself because they had a deal for eyelash lifting&tinting as well ass eyebrow tinting. I have very straight lashes so was excited to test it out. I loved the results! Took about an hour and ten minutes for everything to be done. Before and after pics were taken so I hope they put them up! Went there today after sending a message to book an appointment via Yelp. I wound up being able to just walk in and had my eyebrows done in less than 10 minutes. I've been looking for a go to threading salon and I think I found it today. I inquired about the eyebrow tinting and we discussed what it might look like and I was even offered to have some powder put on to see what the color would be. Usually with other threading locations I would have to tell them what I am not satisfied with and they'll go back in a fix it up, but with Thread Bar it was perfect the first time around. I was looking for some stores that does threading for eyebrows near me and I came across thread bar. Someone had recommended Harinder to me so I went to her. I decided to go to her for the first time and experience what it's like to get your eyebrows threaded. My first time here was about more than a month ago. I got to say it did hurt, I cried but everyone has different pain tolerance. Today was my second time here. It didn't hurt as much as the first. I absolutely love my eyebrows. I've been coming here for atleast a year now and I'm never disappointed. I like my brows thick so finding a place that actually listened to me about how I wanted MY brows was a real task but once I came here I never had that problem again. I normally just walk in and I'm usually serviced right away or within a few mins. All the women who work here are always friendly, welcoming and do a great job. I've had my brow and lip done by several of them and again I've never had a complaint. You can pay by card but tips are cash only. Parking is usually a hassle bc of the construction around the area but it's all worth it to have my brows the way I want. I have never gotten my eyebrows threaded before and found Thread Bar based on reviews! I called a few hours before going and it was very easy to make an appointment. I walked in about 30 minutes before my appointment and the place was empty! The lady who did mine was very quick, didn't really explain things and hopped right into it. I've been here a handful of times now, and it's the only place I've ever been for threading. The staff is friendly and completely professional, and the space is always clean. I've never come with an appointment, and there has always been other customers waiting but I have never had to wait very long. They have a loyalty program and accept student ID for a discount on all services! Both Harinder and Sadia are incredible! I have naturally thick eyebrows and just ask for a clean up and have been incredibly pleased with my results! Threading gives a much better end product than waxing. Definitely my go to place to get my eyebrows done in Philly! I'm not a fan of waxing because of the residue and heat and really like threading because it's fast and a bit less painful. I always come in to visit Indy and she's amazing! I like to keep my brows more on the thicker side and she remembers that whenever I come in! Sakshi is hands down the BEST. I had never had my eyebrows threaded before and she walked me through the process step by step and has continued to make sure each visit I am satisfied. She is so personable and takes the time to answer any questions I have about brow care and also offers her own suggestions for growing them in and filling/shaping. It only took a few minutes and I thought the girl who did my brows did a great job and was very quick and efficient. I also really liked the rose scented toner she used afterward. When AnjuThreads closed, I was happy to see my familiar threaders had opened their own location nearby. The service is excellent. All the threaders are kind, patient, and skilled. They ask you what you're looking for prior to the service, make sure you are happy with your results when you finish, and always offer the opportunity to come back for fixes. Love this shop! I have recently moved to Philly and was on the hunt for a new thread shop and I am so happy yelp sent me their way! I called and made an appointment (just in case it was busy which it wasn't) for a Friday morning at 10:30. I walked in (a tad bit late due to trying to find parking) and there was no issue. The place is modern and clean with some light background music, and they take walk-ins (I came in on a Friday afternoon, & even though there were already 3 clients in the 3 chairs, I was helped in 5-10 minutes.) Decent price: $13 for eyebrow threading (Note: they only take cash tip.) The person who helped me was knowledgeable (I have a thicker & unruly brow, so I asked for it to be thinner & less prominent, but she first suggested we just clean it up and go from there, and the result was actually better!) & fast (it only took ~12 minutes). my ridiculously difficult brows--years of overwaxing and tweezing have left some spots a little bare, so they look like caterpillars with bald spots. i've tried many a waxing/threading/eyebrow maintenance place in philly, from cheap to expensive, and this is the place. it's fast, it's affordable, and they get the shape right. no irritation from waxing. the ladies are so nice. they don't judge--instead, they make my browns right! read more

Only place I've ever went to get my eye brows threaded always did wax places and they always messed them up and made them super thin. Thread bar the women actually work with you and ask you prior what you're looking for etc they are awesome been going there for almost two years a little on the pricey side yet it does not bother me because threading lasts longer in comparison to thread in my opinion. I have visited this threading salon for few times. It seemed to be nice at the beginning as the staffs are nice and friendly. However, the quality doesn't match with the $13 price tag. I love to have a bold, straight and thick brows, not an edgy, high arched brows. I kept telling them that I only want the brow clean up. But they kept making my brow thinner, more edgy and arched, which doesn't look good for my face shape. Now, I end up having uneven brows, one thick and one thi, which make me look extremely hilarious. The thread they use is also not a good or high quality brand, also the cream and other stuffs, it just same as many other thread store so I don't see any difference between them and other threading stores to make them more expensive. *** Be cautious: their thread also have problem because I kept having many little bumps under brows after the threading session. There is one time that I saw someone said she had rash in her armpit when she waxed here. read more

I started getting my eyebrows and upper lip done here after a friend recommended it for people with sensitive skin. (I've previously had skin waxed off at other places) I have very thick eyebrows with deeply rooted hairs. The threaders I've had here have been wonderful in listening to me when I say I like to keep my eyebrows thick. I go regularly to Sadia and Ami. They're both wonderful. Sadia works very quickly without losing precision which I appreciate since it's not exactly the most wonderful feeling to have your facial hair ripped out. She always gets the shape of my brow perfect. Ami is likewise wonderful. She is meticulous in removing even the toughest of hairs and always checks in to make sure I don't need a break from the torture. Best place to get your eyebrows done in center city.
