So I am now on one of there membership plans, which kind of saves money for me in the long run. Just tried the Teaspoon sugaring for my underarms with one of the membership credits that carried over and really liked it also - so smooth! I've had an unpleasant experience waxing (I actually had to end the threshold early and wasn't because of my pain tolerance) so I was hesitant to try again but... I was told that sugaring was different, better for sensitive skin and for the environment so decided to give it a try. Was super easy to make an appointment online and lots of times available. This place is in the basement so when you get to the address, look down. Truth be told I was 5 mins late for my appointment but Jasmine took great care of me (after I signed the waivers etc.) She explained the process of sugaring wonderfully (and in case you're like me and had no idea, they use this large glob of a honey, lemon, water semi solid goo, think honey coloured Play-Doh. They spread it down in the direction for the hair growth, which not gonna lie, can be a little painful, then pull in the opposite direction...they reuse the same glob until it gets too stiff from all the hair...no strips, applicators or anything. Very interesting). Don't think this is not going to be painful, it is but Jasmine did a great job trying to distract and applying pressure to the area to decrease discomfort. She was quick but not rushed. The place was clean, cool, great music. In my opinion, the prices seem reasonable and I'll definitely come back. No cash payments (except for tip). read more

I recently received a spray tan and it lasted almost 2 full weeks! I loved that I was able to shower within a few hours opposed to waiting a full 8 as I am accustomed. I love it here! I actually started out sugaring at another place but after the shutdown my original place still haven't opened when i planned on making an appointment. I've heard good reviews about this place so i went for it and don't regret it at all. Everyone's friendly and informative. It's very clean and they're taking Covid-19 precautions seriously. The sugaring services I've received was i believe $50 the first visit, the son did visit us complimentary. Since then I've signed up for the membership which is $39 monthly. The parking is a struggle because you can't park on their street but there is parking around you just have to come early & plan ahead. And they don't close until 11PM! read more

In need of some maintenance and my friend patronizes Sugared+Bronzed. Had to cancel my appointment on Saturday. Rescheduled appointment without any issues. Was a few minutes late and received a text inquiring about my arrival. Walked in and the establishment is clean and airy. They take your temperature and ask the routine Covid questions. The rooms are well positioned and are cleaned after every use. I sat on a bench for a quick second before my services started. My technician was Jasmine. She is a real professional. She was personable and explained the sugaring process. It service was quick. I definitely have a new place to go. The cost of $49 is so affordable. They add a 18% tip but I preferred to give cash tip. It's on the ground floor so u might walk past since u have to go down steps to enter. read more

I have gotten spray tanned here for almost 3 years and easily 20 times. I always get the express tan and I have always had a 5 star experience. This week I went in and they told me they were phasing out the express but they had a new formula which was the same where you shower after 3 hours. I said I would try it even though I was going on a trip to the beach and really didn't want it to be messed up. Horrible decision. I have streaks all over my entire body that look like stretch marks. I know that it isn't user error because I have done this 20 times before and I always follow the same steps (exfoliating the night before, no oils or lotions). Really upset because I loved going here but I will never use the new formula again and if they are riding on the previous good reviews and getting rid of the old formula (I'm sure to cut costs) then it's a scam! Update: Kelly reached out to me to offer a refund and credit. I appreciate the great customer service that I have always noticed here until this incident. I am still reluctant to try the new formula again but will try it with the credit and update my review if anything changes. read more

I really didn't want to like Sugared + Bronzed, but I fell in love. I needed an underarm wax and while walking on 12th St, I stumbled upon this little place. I had done underarm sugaring once before and enjoyed the results so decided to go in. The ambiance and environment is so pleasant, it made me feel like I was in a spa, and I started to fall in love with the place. I came in during off-peak hours so they were able to see me immediately. The sugarer/waxer/technician was incredibly kind and let me know exactly what to do. In less than 5 minutes, I was done. Super quick and easy, and honestly less painful than I expected. I decided to book an appointment for a Brazilian and was happy to see that I could do the new customer 2 for $49 special. My second time at Sugared and Bronzed was equally amazing. I arrived 5 minutes late so unfortunately missed my appointment but they said they would fit me in as soon as possible. 10 minutes later they had availability and again, I was in and out in 5 minutes. I was in and out in ~25 minutes, and was happy with the final color of my tan (went with shade #2 since it was my first time) as well as the "finishing" touches provided like hand wipes to minimize any streaks on my palms. A few months ago, I saw an ad for sugaring (as an alternative to waxing) and decided to try it out. I'm never going back! First of all, new customers get buy 1 get 1 - so 2 waxes for the price of 1! Now, let's explain the difference (or at least how I understand it). Sugaring is the same concept as waxing, that you're mechanically removing the hair follicle. However, wax just sticks to everything and ends up pulling hair and the top layer of skin (ow!). Sugaring uses a ball of sugar, lemon, and water. It is pushed on in the opposite direction of hair growth, and the ball attaches to just the hair. It's then removed in the direction of hair growth in small parts, so similar to waxing but gentler on the skin. I found it overall less painful than waxing, though the application is also mildly painful so it's a more constant pain. Definitely more tolerable than waxing, for me! Now the real benefit to me is that my skin was much less red than usual, and I didn't get as many ingrown hairs. It also lasted longer than waxing usual does with finer hair growing back, which was a nice bonus. read more
