I love the new location! It feels super spacious & clean. For me personally, sugaring hurts significantly less than waxing! I also love that it's a quick process and I'm in and out in 20 min or less. Everyone that has ever sugared me has been professional, personable, and kind. They always make sure I am comfortable and do their best to make the process as painless as possible. I used to get traditional waxes but the sugaring concept intrigued me so I visited sugared + bronzed. Located in center city, the place is quaint but cute! They have a small waiting area by reception where the friendly staff seats. You're greeted upon walking in and have a maximum of 5 minutes wait time until you're taken back to the room. The rooms itself are also small but look clean and well taken care of. You don't get to pick your technician like you would at other places like European Wax Center, so you either have a really good experience or a not so pleasant one. Some of the girls doing the sugaring are more skilled and leave the waxed areas completely hair free and are quick and efficient. Others struggle and end up sugaring an area more than once and take a longer amount of time. This obviously results in very red, painful, and irritated skin which would result in in growns or bumps down the line, especially if you have sensitive skin. Because of the varying results and the gamble that you take I give this place 4 stars. That being said, the sugaring process was a bit more painful than traditional soft or hard waxing but it did seem like a gentler process. Sometimes I noticed the hair would take longer to grow in which is always a plus. They book fast so you are encouraged to make your appointment as soon as possible. I personally don't plan on going back since it is pricey so I've invested in laser instead. I would still recommend this place however if you're looking for alternatives! I never tried the bronzing services but I noticed quite a lot of men and women in there for them so they must be popular. read more

I typically don't write reviews but my legs looked like they weren't even sprayed after asking for a Level 3. For a $65 spray tan I expected a lot more. I do recommend booking in advance because they are very busy and the appointments fill up quickly. I have also been tanned twice and thought it looked great each time. I definitely recommend exfoliating well. My first time I did not exfoliate around my feet/ankles and it got a bit blotchy. However the second time was nearly perfect! read more

I normally get Brazilian waxes every month, so I decided to see what the hype was about for sugar waxing since other people stated it was less painful. First impression, this place was clean and the workers were all friendly. The person who did my wax was Jasmin. She did great at explaining the whole process and distracting me from the moments of pain I did have lol. Compared to regular waxing I would say the sugar wax is less painful in certain areas, but for the main sensitive parts there is no escaping the split second pain. I didn't experience the normal sensitivity you get down there from waxing, which was a plus for me. This place does a second sugar wax free for new customers, so I'll definitely be trying it again. So far the hair growth is about the same as regular waxing, but I'll see if the second wax is different as far as that goes. read more

Let me start by saying that absolutely every hair removal process I have tried HURTS!!!!!! I don't care who tells you differently, ripping hair out of your coochie will not be fun. However these girls make it as pleasant as possible. They're fast and ask you questions to take your mind off of the procedure. Sugaring has also been nice because it's not hot like wax. My skin doesn't need time to recover from the process. I'm not left red afterwards. And something about it being just sugar, water, and lemon makes me feel like it's good for me. So if you're looking for a reasonably good time during an uncomfortable hair removal service, I would highly recommend this spot. read more

The employee who did my spray tan made me feel very comfortable and did an amazing job. My spray tan was very even and natural looking. A bit pricey but it's worth it! I was an S+B member for a long time- but I might have to cancel my membership now. My sugaring experience tonight was awful. My sugar was cold- and hard. When I asked that it be switched for one that was warmer I was told that it's fine and there is no difference. This is just not true. I endured the rest of the sugaring but then when I asked for some spare hairs (maybe 6 at most) next to my bikini line to be removed- I was told that I would have to pay extra. I've never had to pay extra in the 3 years I've been going to sugaring at this location. I also get sugared every 4-5 weeks. The sugarista and the receptionist argued with me and told me next time to book extended. This is a $50 dollar Brazilian wax. I won't be going back. read more

Literally life changing. I had never tried waxing before but when I heard of how gentle and natural sugaring is, I had to give it a shot. I used the new client special for 2 Brazilians for $49 and just recently finished my 2nd one 4 weeks after my 1st and the results are insane. No more prickly, itchy hairs growing back 12hr after shaving. The hair doesn't even grow back for a few days! And when it does grow in, it's thin and barely noticeable at all. I'm hooked! Kasia is incredible and so professional! I never felt uncomfortable at all, she really did an amazing and thorough job. I remember my first visit here was several years ago, I always was a fan and will happily pay a monthly membership (that cost less than going out with your girlfriends on a weekend, mind you) to get such a superb experience at this eco friendly salon that had a amazing new makeover! The reception area is so clean and now that they are more Earth friendly by using iPads to clock you in and have you sign a waiver, it makes me feel good that they're conscious about waste and take part to limit that. A friendly, smiling receptionist is always there to clock you in, making small talk that doesn't sound forced and there's always trendy music playing in the background. I had my first Brazilian sugaring on 04/08/17 and she explained every step and even discussed the history of sugaring, trying to distract me which worked. Kinda. She was very gentle and I have extremely sensitive skin so as I was trying not to yelp in pain, my amazing esthetician reassured me that I wasn't being dramatic as I apologized constantly and told me my next complimentary (if you are sugaring for the first time, there is a complimentary sugaring for your next visit!) shouldn't be as painful since sugaring itself should make the hair grow out thinner. She also took her time to tweeze and shape me up. Clearly, she wants to make everyone look and feel their best. If you don't know what sugaring is, it's basically an organic wax that's made of sugar and lemon water, compared to hard wax that can burn you, the sugar water is lukewarm and clings onto your hair follicles easier and rips the roots out! It doesn't cling onto your skin but your dead skin cells. they do give you a card after you're done to explain the aftercare. I'll be sugaring from now on and look forward to my next appointment! read more

This is my first time getting sugared. I've gotten waxed before so I thought it'll be the same level of painful-ness.. however, I think it's more painful than getting waxed. I did not take Advil or anything since that was never a problem when I got waxed. The next time I go, I might take an Advil lol. This place is so cute and very clean. First off let me say the service and the price of my waxing is on point. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I am never uncomfortable. I have a monthly membership and have recommended so many people. I'm the beginning I have never had an issue with booking and I get the works lol (legs, underarms, and Brazilian.) As soon as summer hit now I can never get an appointment online and rarely anyone ever answers the phone. I have been told they are short staffed which I understand however they continue to add more clientele and the members do not get any priority. It's extremely frustrating that I am pretty much stalking them for a service. Sugared and Bronzed does not value its regulars and I am canceling my membership along with numerous other friends and family. I'm sorry but I would much rather pay more for the convenience of not having to hassle someone to take my money. Sorry but not sorry! read more

I've been getting Brazilian sugared here for the past 4 months now. The staff is extremely friendly and do a great job at making you feel comfortable during the process. I definitely recommend and I am happy with the results! If you plan on keeping up with it, definitely consider getting the membership to save some money! I'm a regular hard waxer with thick/coarse hairs. My go to waxing person retired and I decided to try something new. I wasn't disappointed, this is less painful then waxing. Still not a cakewalk but very bearable. For me waxing is like a high intense hot pain as soon as its ripped while this was more of a medium more numbing feeling idk if that makes sense. The only possible downsides is that there are more pulls or flicks because they do smaller sections. I do anticipate next time being much easier for me because it had been a while since my last wax when I arrived and I had shaved in between that time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was greeted and directed to check in on an IPad as soon as I came in. I was asked to sign a waiver which was a little daunting because I've never been asked to do that for a Brazilian. There were like 4 things that they recommended you not be taking while getting sugared none of them applied to me so that gave me some ease. If it does apply to you I would def ask about it. They noted the note I had entered in my appointment and took time to follow up with me about it before the appointment which was nice. I was taken in to my appointment exactly at my time. My waxer was friendly and forward she acknowledged that this session wasn't going to be easy because of the coarseness/length of the hairs and let me know what to expect and updated me on what she planned to do as she prepping to do it. She worked quickly and was communicative offering me the option to opt out of some light tweezing at the end if I didn't want to and telling me what she was applying. The result I got is exactly what I would of gotten waxing but without the intense pain and my skin feels super soft. I've booked my next appointment. read more

A colleague recommended them for tanning as she had a great experience herself when she used them for her brother's wedding. She's fair, like myself, so I was confident I'd have a good experience as well. My appt was on the Saturday of July 4th weekend. I found parking right out front. Paid less than $2 when all was said and done. I was in and out very quickly and I appreciated that. Queen, my bronzing tech, was very personable and took the time to answer my questions and explain the process to me. It looks natural, they take the time to talk you through which shade would look best on you, they make you feel comfortable throughout the session, offer a clean experience and don't rush you out but give you time to dry off before leaving. The first time was a little painful--no worse than waxing though--and every time after has since been painless. The staff is so nice, thoughtful, and informative. I've been coming here for a year or so now and really like their tanning services. Their staff is extremely professional and sweet, and they offer advice on how to keep your tan looking fresh for as long as possible. I'd say the express stays on for almost a week, but probably starts to visibly wear off after 4 days. If you're looking for a reasonably priced and reputable tanning spot in Center City, look no further. Next time I go, I plan to make it so I can try the standard tan just to see which I prefer! I got sugared and a spray tan. The sugaring was pretty painful, but I'm also not a regular waxer so it was most likely my own sensitivity. The outcome was great! My spray tan was not my favorite. The color is nice but the application is a bit splotchy. I have a large streak on my leg which is a bummer.
