The staff here are some of the best I've ever encountered in my life! So two days before my wedding, my (old) spray tan girl double booked me and couldn't take me. I call up Baked per a friends recommendation and the employees on the phone were SO accommodating and took my hysterical self in right away. Alexa did an AMAZING job and gave me the perfect pre-wedding glow. She calmed me down and made me feel comfortable the whole time! Afterwards, it started to rain (cue the hysterics again) and the employees were so so nice and lent me an umbrella and basically walked me to my car. Whenever I look back on my wedding day prep, I'll always look back on this experience and be so warmed by the kindness the employees at Baked showed me. I have been going to Baked for years. The staff are extremely friendly and make you feel completely comfortable! They are also the best at their spray tans knowledge. They help you pick out the best spray for the event you are being sprayed for and thoroughly go over all instructions with you to ensure your spray comes out great and lasts. The vibe/decor of the place is literally straight out of Pinterest and so aesthetically pleasing which is a plus in my eyes. Every time I have been sprayed I receive compliments of how great and natural my spray looks. When it came to my wedding this past January I kept going back and forth on getting sprayed because I did not want the usual color I would normally get. The staff was helpful and friendly on explaining the costs and helping me with the gift certificate since I knew nothing about this topic when opening the door. A little disappointed because I heard such great things. The staff was very nice and the salon is really clean and cute. But the organic 8hour set tan itself was not what I hoped. I'm very fair, like as white as it gets, so I explained clearly I wanted a subtle, light tan. They suggested a 3-4 because anything else would be underwhelming. Im wishing I got like a 1-2. But I sorta did, on just one arm. Parts of me are a good color. But my legs are sooo much darker then the rest of me. There's a lot of build up between my boobs, around my armpit, ankles, knees. I visited Baked based off a recommendation from a good friend and I was not disappointed! I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 for two small reasons, my face seemed a lot lighter than the rest of my body and my wrists and hands looked orange compared to the rest of my my body. This place is so great I have used it twice now for big events and will be coming back even when I leave the neighborhood. I always get so many compliments on my tan- which Adrienne customizes for you depending on how much time you have to let it set and if you are traveling and so forth. Each time I went I got a different tan and they both looked great and so natural. Even when they start to fade you're not left with any weird looking blotches on your ankles or wrists. I have to say, try the teeth whitening! I got the whitening done for my friends wedding I was the maid of honor in and my teeth were SO white! I was pretty apprehensive about it because I had gotten whitening done before and I experienced the "zingers" you get which are very painful but this process was easy and painless. Baked is an exceptional place. The organic spray tans are deluxe like Hollywood. They fade beautifully but you must use their body wash and moisturizing products you won't have any dry spots and it will just fade perfectly. This was just an ok experience. I went for teeth whitening and spray tan. The whitening station was just on the other side of the reception area so there was no real sound barrier. It was disruptive to hear the employees chatting and complaining about something, so it wasn't a very relaxing experience. Although their Yelp reviews really do seem too good to be true (not a single negative comment or 4 star review? Really?) I did enjoy my tan at Baked and would probably come back. I grabbed a Groupon (or a Ruelala, or some sort of deal - I forget) for a trip to Florida and they really did a great job. Scheduling was easy and flexible, the girls at the shop were very nice and approachable. I especially like when a business treats Groupon-users well (I only buy them for places I intend to come back to.) Here's a couple of pointers on spray tanning though: 1. I did come out a little orange. And, no, I don't mean just for the first 8 hours (you can't shower for 8 hours till everything sets and then a lot of the bronzer washes off). I definitely looked orangey for a couple days (which is when you want it to look best/freshest). I'd strongly recommend spending more time talking about exactly what you want. My desire for "a light, natural glow" wasn't enough 2. Spray tans do not last. Maybe you'll still look tannish in a week, but that's a stretch. And it's a lot of cash ($50) to drop for 1 week of being tan. Allegedly you can stretch it out to 10 days by moisturizing like crazy and using tanning creams (I did the former but not the latter - what if it looked weird/blotchy?) and my face was un-tan by day 5 and only a smidge of tan was left on my arms and legs by day 7. The color faded okay, but got a bit weird in dryer areas like my shins So... long story short, nice girls and nice place. I'd come back, but only for super special occasions. And I'd definitely spend more time setting expectations on what sort of "tan" you want to be. Happy tanning! read more

I am so so happy with my airbrush tan! I have had other spray tans that came out too dark or too light, smelled awful and took forever to dry. My airbrush tan from Baked was perfect in every way. They have organic and regular formulas and can customize the color to suit you or put on a second layer to get a little darker. I am very fair and asked for a very light shade and I got a very natural, sun-kissed glow. And here's a list of even more reasons this was the best sunless tan ever: 1. I called the number on the website and the technician made me an appointment the same day and answered all of my questions. 2. You can go to their location in south philly OR she will come to you! Being as it was a hot day and I didn't want sweat to ruin my tan on the way home, I opted for the house call. It's a little bit more money, but well worth it. She brought a tall ,foldable tent for me to stand in so no tanner gets sprayed on your furniture or rugs. 3. It was quick and easy. The whole thing took maybe 10 minutes and dried almost instantly. No waiting around naked, no using a hairdryer on your arms before getting dressed. 4. It didn't smell like self-tanner, yay! 5. My technician was so friendly and professional. I had a wonderful experience here. I had a gilt voucher and it was my first time at this establishment. I needed a light tan before my sister's wedding but didn't want to look too dark or orange. Neither happened. I discussed with them what I was looking for, and she customized the color perfectly to my Asian skin tone. Also, after she was done, I realized I wanted to have less bikini line and she was kind enough to re-do it. Please note - when she first sprays you, there is a bronzing color that is immediately on your skin, so you look much darker, which can be a little bit exasperating. But once you shower, all that bronzer comes off, and underneath is your beautiful tan color. It's been a week so far, and my tan is still going strong and natural looking. I haven't had their regular tan, but the organic tan was absolutely the best sunless tan I have ever had. Looked so natural and made a huge difference in my wedding dress. Everyone said my skin looked gorgeous. Adrienne asks you how tan you would like to be and then considers your natural skin tone before hand mixing your custom color solution. She applied the tan so efficiently, I swear it only felt like only 60 seconds, and yet took the time to paint on body lotion in places that shouldn't be so tan to block the absorption. After the spray, she then hand dusts powder in areas like inside elbows to prevent lines from forming. I'd say it lasted at least 7 days, and I didn't do anything special to keep it lasting longer. I called and specially requested Adrienne because she had good reviews, and Adrienne herself confirmed she would be there. However when I arrive, Nadia is the one who is there and will be spraying me. I should've left then and there but I drove 45 minutes so I wasn't gonna just leave. I really should have because I got the worst spray tan of my life. The day after, my face peeled and left a giant white spot around my lips. My hands were partially sprayed and the line down my thumb was not blended well AT ALL. She also completely forgot to spray under my neck. FOR 50 dollars, I expected a better tan. I recently went to Baked and was thrilled with the experience. Adrienne is great - super friendly, nice, and honest. I had a wedding on Saturday, so got the organic spray on Thursday afternoon. The tan looked great and completely natural. In my opinion, it's worth paying a few extra dollars to get personal treatment. Spraying in those automatic booths seems too easy to screw up for me. I had booked the original tan online, but Adrienne did the organic one, since it was so hot and the organic sets faster. Still, she only charged me for the original one - what great customer service! My appointment was at the super convenient Arch Street location. The location is spotless and comfortable. Adrienne is quick and efficient, but does not in any way make you feel rushed. Wednesday was my second visit to Baked. I liked it a lot the first time, the space is really cute, they sell really fun things in the front of the store (including Quay sunglasses!!) and my tan experience was great. The second time; I got the quickie tan with Adrienne and it is the best spray tan I've ever had. I was in a wedding all weekend and it looked so natural, even next to girls who had "real" tans. It was even and the perfect shade for me. Aside from the tan being awesome, Adrienne was super cool and nice. She doesn't make you feel weird at all (spray tans can often be a little uncomfortable because you're basically naked standing in close proximity to a stranger). I was really comfortable the entire time. I will go to Baked again and again. The tan was great, the staff is cool, parking is a breeze on 4th St so it's so easy to get to. read more

I don't normally like to give companies bad reviews because I know that sometimes you're just that one unlucky customer. I got spray-tanned about two days prior to my wedding and I also brought along two of my bridesmaids for spray tanning now had one of our tans come out bad I wouldn't have written a review but all three of us had very blotchy orange looking tans and all three of us are very unsatisfied.
