Had an eyebrow threading here and walked out with this bleeding cut and overdone eyebrows. It was 2 tiny cuts but painful because the skin around eye area is extremely sensitive. I've never experienced such a problem with other threading shops. I said I wanted a cleanup but ended up a set of overdone and much thinner eyebrows. For the context, I always have full eyebrows and don't even have to do makeup on them; one side is naturally uneven and less arch than the other. I expressed I didn't like the fact she made it so thin, and the lady blamed me that I was the one who did too much tweezing at home. The tweezing might make the eyebrows uneven, but that shouldn't be an excuse for a poor job. She didn't even care to clean the eyebrow hair on my face afterwards. I was given a dry rough tissue to do it myself where the skin area was very sensitive and in pain. What happened to me already happened. But if you don't want to leave with thin eyebrows, bleeding cuts and frustration for cold service like I did, please proceed with caution when you choose this threading bar. Also I think the owner should really train their staff to pay more attention to their service quality -- for example, if you deliver the customers a less-than-expected result, please at least listen and don't make it sound as if "Oh not my problem, it's you who's at fault." read more

I walked in to iBrow ThreadnWax this afternoon. There was one other person in a chair getting her eyebrows threaded. I asked if I was able to get my eyebrows and upper lip waxed. One of the women said yes and to take a seat in one of the chairs. I sat down while the other woman who worked there walked away to the back even though she wasn't doing anything or helping anyone. She came back and grabbed a thread, attempting to thread my eyebrows. I told her I wanted my upper lip and eyebrows waxed. She rolled her eyes. She hastily applied the wax to my eyebrows without asking me about shaping. She did not trim my eyebrows or go in with a tweezer after to get any stray hairs. The upper lip was fast. She asked me to look at my eyebrows and if I liked them. I looked at them and ran my fingers over them to clean them up and she rolled her eyes and made a face. She then took me to check out. I didn't have any cash so I was going to leave a tip on my card, but she just handed me the receipt to sign. I was going to say something about a tip, but she rolled her eyes (third time!!) and goes "were you going to say something?" So I said no and left without tipping. Here's the thing - it was fast! It was cheap - $13 with a student discount. However, I will take my business back to Ulta where they are nice, respectful, and actually do their job correctly. I'm a big believer in tipping, usually 20% or more, but I'm glad to have walked out without tipping this woman. There was absolutely no need for the attitude I received. read more

Great place really nice! but the pricing is ridiculous!! $100. for a Brazilian.underarms. half legs! @ RUBYS on 40th st. (nearly 2 blocks away) paid $45 & i tipped her! EUROPEAN WAX is t even tht pricey! Guess bc Chestnut st. is so BUSY, possibly bc DREXEL owns the area-i paid for the location. 2 blocks over RUBY'S is in a more merely gentrified area. read more

Took 11 minutes for eyebrow threading and they look great! The woman did talk on the phone the whole time which personally didn't bother me but I'm sure some people wouldn't like that. $10 with a student discount and she gave me a punch card- 10th visit is free! read more

Always game to try something new but I won't return here. Brows over waxed, cold service. Typically I am asked how I want my brows but the woman here just started in then over did it. Not awful, but not great. Will stick with my usual place. read more

You have to be extremely detailed with what you want if you're growing your brows out and want to continue growing them. I started coming in November and this is the third time I went to get my eyebrows threaded by Marlene. The first two times were fine-- Marlene was made aware twice before that I had been growing my brows out for a long time and that they are getting thicker. This third time was horrible and I will likely never come back. When I came, I asked to have my eyebrows cleaned up and threaded. It seems like she was in a rush as she had another customer waiting for a wax. Marlene over thread my eyebrows and when she was almost done, had the nerve to say that my eyebrows are really thin-- knowing that many of the stray hairs were there to continue to be grown out. When she showed me the finished product I was shocked. 3 years of eyebrow growth that I was growing out was absolutely gone. She then had the nerve to blame it on me and say that I should asked for threading only right above my eye. She threaded my eyebrows so significantly to the point that they're only lines now after 3 years of me being careful with who I go to to grow them out. Additionally, the shapes on each eyebrow now do not match at all. I'm pretty disappointed that her first reaction was to blame it on me. Now I have to wait months, maybe even a year before my next eyebrow appointment so that I can grow them out sufficiently. My suggestion is to go somewhere where they will recognize/listen to your attempts to grow your brows and won't remove all of the grown hairs for the sake of what they feel is the right shape. read more

I have specific requirements for my sense eyebrows and I have tried plenty of places in Philly. So far this place has been best in terms of service, quality, price and location.
