Dirty floor
Bri B.

My fiance and I stopped here on our road trip due to the raving reviews on yelp. Atmosphere: Small parking lot. The floor was filthy. The table was sticky and they did not have a lot of the tables cleared off after customers left. You seat yourself. Service: I don't know who our server was. We had a person seat us and ask us for our drinks, a person bring the drinks and take the order, and then a different person bring the food and the check. It took us longer to get the check than the entire experience. None of the wait staff smiled or seemed to be enjoying life whatsoever. Drinks: My fiance's sprite was the best part of the meal. My coffee was less than lukewarm and I was never asked if I wanted a refill (granted I'm not sure I would have wanted one if it was as cold as the first cup). Food: My fiance got the half order of biscuits and gravy. I ordered the eggs benedict. When I was asked how I would like my eggs, I should have changed my ordered. Eggs benedict comes with poached eggs.....duh. I said over easy so they didn't have a panic attack. Everything was brought to the table in 10 minutes, which is fast, but it was all cold? The only thing warm on my plate was the eggs. The bacon was cold like it had been sitting forever and was chewy vs. crispy. The hollandaise sauce had no flavor and the hashbrowns were stone cold. The gravy for the biscuits was disgusting. It was cold and congealed and had no seasoning, it tasted like it was out of a can. I don't know how or why this place has such high reviews, but I would rather have ate McDonalds, the food and coffee would have at least been hot and it would have been cheaper.

We love stopping here on road trips. Reasonable prices and good food. But note they do not sell beer and wine.

If you're looking for classic Wisconsin diner, stop at the Thorpedo. Consider the gyro.

When traveling up to my hometown of Hayward a few times a year, we usually stop off in Eau Claire for lunch/dinner but will be making this restaurant our priority from now On. Round 2 one week later- my husband had been craving a good hamburger so this stop he had his hamburger and asked for his French fries crisp. I thought that was funny because our last stop here the French fries are already crisp which makes them the best French fries! Alas, his did come out a little darker and a little crispier. He said his cheeseburger was excellent and it was also huge, and he took 1/2 of his burger and fries out the door with him. He also had a cup of chicken and dumpling soup as I raved about it from our last visit. I ham an internal battle with choosing what I thought I should eat to save calories for our weekend, and what I wanted to eat. What I wanted to eat won so I ordered the Ruben with French fries and chicken noodle soup. Yummy. The sandwich was excellent with thin slices of roasted corn beef, just the right amount of sauerkraut and cheese and the Bo us is the sauce for the sandwich was served o. The side so I had co from over how much of the sauce went on my sandwich. Also 1/2 of my meal Went out the door with me. I have mostly been for breakfast, but I have had a delicious burger there as well. Everyone is cheerful, and breakfast visits are especially lovely due to all the banter shared among fun-loving locals. For what it's worth, the Mexican omelette I had during my most recent visit was highly underwhelming compared to what one expects. The meat was not well-seasoned, nor was it plentiful. Definitely not what one would consider taco meat. It was cooked a bit too long, but that didn't mess with the egg flavor. I'm including a photo, but keep in mind it also comes with hash browns. The waitress knew I was giving them to my dad, so she kindly had the chef put them on his plate of eggs. His eggs cooked over easy looked so delicious, and he claimed they were, in fact, delicious.

I Googled for places and this place had an outstanding score, so I was expecting good things. And that is exactly what we found here. It was a local diner scene with a little upscale flamboyance thrown in to make it something much more special. Food: Fresh and quality are the two main highlights on the menu. I noticed a lot of things were made in-house and prepared daily. The produce that was on each dish was bright, vibrant and at peak freshness. The berries were bold, the lettuce was crisp and the tomatoes were meaty and big. It kicked everything up a notch. And yes, the food was amazing because of it. Large portions to fill you right up and get you ready to get back on the road. Verdict: Awesome food without losing that small town feel made this an A+ stop. This will be a spot to visit again when we are back in the area.

While we were waiting, we were offered a couple of smaller tables, which would have split the group. We declined (but appreciated the offer). Got seated, with menus and waters. The server took our drink orders, and those items came right away. I was surprised by the fresh-squeezed orange juice -- nice touch. The server was very pleasant, helpful, and efficient. It didn't take that long for all of us to get our orders. Everything was hot, flavorful, and good-sized portions. The pancakes were big and fluffy. The eggs were moist. My avocado toast was nicely made and tasted fresh. And the two poached eggs were medium -- exactly how they were ordered. The manager (or owner?) stopped by during the meal to ask if all was okay. It was. Definitely a place I would recommend or come back to.
