The soup was room temperature, but the salad bar was good. With a waterfront restaurant, I expected a much better meal than what we got. The first time we stopped, I got the battered fried fish which was more batter than fish. Each time, the place had several people, but not a busy, hectic group, so there should be no reason for cold food. I mentioned about the potato to the waitress and she brought out a hot, steaming plate of potatoes and in the end didn't charge for the sodas. We will not be returning here.

It eventually got awkward as the dining room we were in nearly emptied completely, except for one other table that ordered right after us. I had the ribeye, medium rare, with garlic parmesan fries and mac & cheese. The ribeye needed more seasoning and some areas that were seared/charred literally hurt my teeth to chew. My mom ordered the honey bourbon chicken & shrimp and she was sooooo happy with it that she talked about it for two days. My husband had the chicken marsala pasta with crispy chicken and he felt it had been sitting in the window for a while as it was barely warm. Now, we finished eating, got to-go boxes, paid, and as we were leaving the guys next to us that ordered right after us still didn't have their entrees, so there were definitely some issues with the kitchen that night. It is a bit of a bittersweet story about my first Pine Ridge experience. My grandma grew up in this…read morearea, and this was her favorite place to get fried fish. She always talked about it and would eat here any time she was back in the area. I hoped to visit with her someday. She was supposed to go in July 2025 with some family, but was sick and not able to make the trip from her home in KC. Unfortunately she recently passed away, and our family gathered in Wisconsin for her memorial service. Pine Ridge was so gracious and accommodating and opened early for about 30 of us to visit and have grandma's favorite fried fish experience after we had her service. It was unbelievably good, and I now know why grandma loved coming to Pine Ridge all those years. Nothing better than being with family enjoying amazing food. The staff was so kind and accommodating, the restaurant was beautiful, and none of us left hungry. Until next time!
