    Shrimp and chicken dinner
    Stephanie R.

Great prices! Friendly service and people that care about the quality of the food they serve. My husband got the chicken dinner, he mentioned that the chicken pieces were smaller than at home, but that it's probably because this was fresher local chickens that aren't pumped full of growth hormones like we're used to in California- so it's a good thing! Their root beer was delish and the shrimp batter is flavorful. Great food grab to take over to Leinenkugels

We started out by ordering the queso, guacamole and calamari for appetizers. All 3 were very good! I order a skinny margarita to start with and it was good but came in a small glass. I wish it came in a tall glass just like the regular margarita did. The regular margarita was very good as well. You have the option of salt or tajin on the rim. I special ordered the sprimp fajitas as they didn't just have shrimp as an option. Thankfully they were still able to accommodate my request because the fajitas were delicious!! You get rice and beans on the side & an option of guac or sour cream as a topping. You also get a choice of flour or corn tortillas. You definitely get your bang for your buck with this entree. The chef use to be the same chef as Manny's in Eau Claire so all the food was delicious. They have to many fresh seafood options which I loved. Overall I'd definitely come back!!

The food was OUTSTANDING and was more than enough. Hands down, this meal was superb. The steak was order medium rare and it did not disappoint. (Spoiler -- it was a delightful meal!) The Wissota Chophouse is inside the Cobblestone Hotel. It has a separate entrance that leads right into the dining room. It's not a very big space, but the table arrangements are comfortable, with different-sized tables to accommodate larger groups. We had a 7:00 reservation and were seated right away. Menus and waters came quickly, and our server checked in with us immediately. In addition to taking our drink order (Huckleberry Old Fashioned for me), our server did a nice job of explaining the menu items. He was also candid about the dishes he didn't think were the "best" choices. I really appreciate it when a server feels connected to the customers and confident enough in their own palate to share honest opinions. We ordered the calamari appetizer. Our server wasn't crazy about that choice, but we went ahead anyway. It was "okay." It's sautéed rather than fried, so you have to set your expectations accordingly. It was hot, flavorful, and a good portion. However, like a lot of sautéed calamari, the rings were overly chewy :( They also provide a complimentary bread service (French?), which was fresh and warm, served with butter and a couple of different salts. That was unique and very good. Our entrées included Ribeye, Chicken Ballotine, Carbonara, and Sea Bass (for me). These items are à la carte, so we also ordered sides of Brussels Sprouts and Mac & Cheese. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and everything was served at the right temperature. The Ribeye was excellent, and big enough to share. The Chicken Ballotine was tender and flavorful. My Sea Bass was amazing, though the portion was a bit small. Both sides were very good, especially the Brussels Sprouts, which had just the right amount of crisp. We saved room for dessert and shared two -- the Chocolate Cake and the Raspberry Tiramisu. Both were excellent. Overall, the evening was a big success. I really appreciated our server's help and attention throughout the night (thanks, Bruce). The food was wonderful (with one exception). The atmosphere was upscale but casual. It's not a cheap dinner, but for what you get, I feel it's a good value. Overall, a memorable evening -- I'd gladly return.

Fortunately, Kwik Trip was open, so I swung in, as I didn't want just fuel, but also a coffee for the road. I immediately noticed the regular unleaded was $2.49 per gallon and was irritated that I passed a few other stations at $2.39, all because I wanted a coffee and didn't want to simply pay at the pump and go (other stations weren't open due to Christmas). So, there I am, out of the car and at the pump to fill up. My vehicle takes mid-grade at EVERY other gas station on the planet, but not here at Kwik Trip in Chippewa Falls, WI - their mid-grade is 15% ethanol and only 88 octane. WTF? I've never seen that before. Now imagine my surprise when I'm forced to fill with premium (91 octane, no ethanol) at $2.99 per gallon! Yikes. My vehicle needs 89 octane, due to some fancy twin turbo technology and rather than voiding a warranty on my vehicle, I'm forced to take the ridiculously overpriced fuel. I feel violated, Kwik Trip - you gouged me...all because you decided to offer 88 octane rather than 89 like everyone else. You don't pull this same BS in MN, so why here in Chippewa Falls, WI? I won't be back...not here, not to any Kwik Trip - your decision here is shady, and now I don't trust you at any location you own, even those in MN. BTW - I gave you 2 stars rather than only 1 because the coffee I got was delicious.

I jokingly said your being a dork, but I'll put a few out. And within the next week I got probably 4 death threats from other workers. Let's just say I moved on to find a different job in 3 weeks.
