Out of towner here! Enjoying my time in Chicago IL. Came across Thornton's gas station. Caught off guard by there inexpensive gas, I couldn't pass up this deal. Service was quick! No issues to report while pumping gas. The lot was fairly packed and well lit. The attendants were super friendly and accommodating. Reminds me of home. Love Thorntons! read more

This location has all the amenities you expect from a gas station. The staff is nice and the selection is acceptable. I would recommend this gas station if it is convenient to you. Thortons has one of the best (in terms of convenience) loyalty programs in that it's just $0.03/gallon with the occasional $0.06 opt in discount by email. Team that up with their stations typically having competitive prices and I will plan my errands with the intention of stopping by a Thortons. Regarding the drinks and snacks, that is largely on par with any other gas station. Their coffee is priced right (typically $1 for any size cup). read more

On 9/24/23 at 9:20pm last night my boyfriend went inside the Thorntons location located 250 e Roosevelt rd. to purchase cigarettes for my mom and gas for the car he explained to the employee that he didn't have his physical Id on him, but he had a picture of it in his phone and that's he's over 21 the employee then started getting aggressive out of nowhere saying that he didn't care. So, my boyfriend asked if I can just come into the store to Purchase the man told him "No because she's going to be buying it for you" in reality it was really for my mom so when I got inside the gas station to try to purchase he continued to be rude I had my ID on me I'm 22 years old I didn't see the problem on why he was still refusing I also had my mom on the phone, so she was hearing everything the man was saying to us we didn't want to cause any problems so I just asked for a refund on my gas and we left because at that point I didn't want to spend my money with them just because how the man treated us me and my mom been going to gas station for over 7 years and this the first time we ever had any type of problems when coming to this gas station. I don't know the man's name, but I know exactly how he look so I will be reporting him to his manager as well. read more

I would not use the Breckenridge Lane Thorntons. I had gas stolen off a pump I prepaid on in broad day light. I had to pay inside because the credit card terminal wasn't working. I walked out seconds later and someone had backed their car up to my bumper and was pumping the gas I had just paid for inside. Once the person left after I confronted them I went back inside to get them to reset to pump to the full amount, which they did eventually when I got insistent. My experience was that its a really busy location so they can't look out for this happening; I wouldn't feel safe using this location again. I called the corporate office the day it happened on 1/28. They were very nice and apologetic, and they said they would look into it but haven't heard from them yet. Now I have anxiety about going to the gas station. read more

Always the cheapest prices around. I come 5 miles east of here from Crook (Cook) County because gas is ALWAYS 30 cents cheaper here (beginning of DuPage County). The clerks are nice. Alot of pumps. Clean restrooms. They also have my banks ATM!!! I like this place!!! read more

This location always has good fuel prices the store itself is not very organized always has a weird smell wouldn't trust the hot food they sell their prices are about average but I have noticed that the men's bathroom is always closed till after 10 AM been watching the last couple of weeks different hours in the morning it seems like they want to keep out the truck drivers and the landscapers from using the bathroom in the a.m. that is very very bad for Thorton because the drivers are now avoiding getting fuel diesel trucks take an average of $80 sometimes up to $250 every stop I for one will not be visiting this location again read more

I must admit, I have a thing for Thornton and I'm not sure why. It's actually kind of sick, every time I pass it by, I have to stare it down, see how many pumps are open, what the price of gas is, etc. It's like I've become the jealous possessive girlfriend! lol I'm pretty sure it's because of it's low prices though. Down the Roosevelt strip (Between Villa Park and Lombard) I think this IS the gas station with the lowest price, I don't think it's ever been higher than anywhere else. The people who work there aren't the nicest sometimes but they're pretty helpful. Once in a while you get a mad rush in there and that's kind of frustrating but I'm telling you, it's the prices! Like another Yelper said, it's on the North side of Roosevelt so for those heading towards the city, you might have to maneuver around the area to get out or risk your life by turning left onto Roosevelt from the gas station. If you are in the area GO TO THIS GAS STATION, their coffee station would beat the original starbux in Washington, seriously it is like daaaa besttt coffee station. Wish I could give six stars for their gas prices. read more

Today Thornton,s lost a long time costumer due to horrible customer service. I would have never thought I would have a problem at a freaking gas station; you pull up get your gas and be on your way. B/c of mistake made by an employee unsuspecting me got treated in a disrespectful way and was basically accused of being a criminal and threatened. I will contacting Thornton Oil Corp headquarters and filling a complaint against the extremely rude manager and the employee who had the audacity to blame me for a mistake she made. Cheap gas isn't worth being swindled by incompetent employees and horrible customer service. read more

This location really sucks. I ALWAYS have to go inside for a receipt because their lazy assess won't go outside and add more paper! I'm always on edge whether knowing if I have to walk inside and wait in the long lines they have or actually getting my receipt, I should just feel at ease knowing there will always be a receipt coming out. read more

I am a fan simply because of prices. They usually have some of the cheapest gas around other than Road Ranger and Costco. If I'm fillin' up, I definitely think Thorton's to get the most gallon per buck. read more

The best prices for gas in this area. They would get more stars if only the staff wasn't ignorant.
