I'm a believer in Costco Gas especially the price. As I found out the gas prices at individual Costco Gas stations are determined by location & what the surrounding competitors charge for gas. For example Cook County AKA as Crook County charges more then Lake County. You add Chicago taxes to Crook County taxes and your you get the highest prices per gallon. That being said Costco Gas is usually anywhere from $0.25 - $0.30/gallon less then the surrounding competition. By using you Costco Citi Card you can save an addition 4% on your gas that comes back to you in terms of money back @ the end of the year. Pretty sweet when you get that check back at the end of the year. You can either redeem that for merchandise from the store or $cash$ back pretty sweet. Last year I got back something like $360 dollars back. I bought about $60 worth of merchandise and received $297 cash back. Cheapest gas in town? Probably! So I guess that makes it worth the trip! The downside? EVERYONE is here ALL THE TIME! And usually, they are not very kind! While Costco staff has done a better job at making sure every customer gets their gas and waits their turn, patrons are ruthless when in a rush. I experience this mostly when I'm putting air in my tires. People will cut the line, stand in front of a spot, and honk their silly little horns to get what they want. I wish there could be an attendant at the air station, but I wouldn't want anybody to have to stand out in this cold. I haven't experienced their auto repair services, but when I thought I had a tire issue, I called and they were incredibly kind and helpful, pointing out what I needed to do! read more

I first started going to Costco for gas-maybe 5? 6? years ago. I was unsure because I assumed it was low quality gas. I researched online and couldn't find a valid reason to NOT try it at least once. So I got in line and paid attention to the make and model of the other cars. I can't remember specifics, but I saw a number of 'luxury' cars. My car manufacturer recommends premium gas, and I can feel the difference in performance if I get anything else. My car was happy after I got this gas, no issues whatsoever. It's generally cheaper than most, and I refill whenever I shop at Costco. There are multiple pumps...12+? I think? And the gas hose? can be pulled to easily fill your tank on the left or right side. You scan your Costco Card and then pay with a debit or credit card only. So don't try to show up with cash or without a membership card. There are always 2-3 attendants watching, walking around and assisting people. I like this...makes me feel safer. I took off 1 star because recently I got to the pump and it told me my membership expired and I needed to renew before filling up. Oops. That's fine but it told me to go into the store to do it. I drove off before I realized I could do it online. Logged in, renewed, got back in line. They should give the option of renewing at the pump to help avoid the hustle and bustle of having to get in a long busy line in the store to renew. Otherwise, this is my car's favorite gas spot. read more

The cheapest gas you'll find. I usually shop and get gas for my car in one trip. It's fairly close to my apartment. The gasoline hoses do extend and the lines move quickly. There is always a staff member there to help if need be. The lines do get long especially in the evening. I have waited 20 mins max to get to the pump. read more

One of the best priced gas in the south side and yes, you need a membership but that is small details. I'm just going to make this a list of pros because that's mainly what I get from Costco Gas. -close to where I live -they stay open a little later than the store. So you can shop and get gas before you head home. -It's cheaper gasoline than a lot of places. Very affordable -The hoses do extend a long ways so you don't have to line up in a line where your gas tank will be closest to the pump -I have never seen a broken down pump. It's great to have them all working! Only con is that because it's so affordable and close, the lines can get long, but there are soo many positives that it all works out read more

everyone who works here is very friendly! we came to get a tire fixed and they caught an issue with a separate tire and fixed it for us too! it took a little while but we also shopped and found some great foods at great prices (especially some road trip snacks like dried mango, dates, chocolate milk, and honey roasted nuts!). good costco, would recommend! read more

Easy to get to, opens early and in the morning there are plenty of pumps to choose from and get your gas. They have regular or premium gas to choose from and best of all, you can pump from the opposite side of your car since the hoses are long enough. Easy to get in and get out. read more

Do not come during the weekdays between 9:30am and 10am. ALL the FedEx trucks monopolize and take over each gas pump to fill up, prolonging the rest of the members time. They shouldn't be able to do that, and Costco needs to think of the millions of other members who pay more dues than FedEx. read more

Have your Costco card ready to swipe and then you can opt to pay with your credit card or debit card of choice. Pumps work pretty fast. Gas prices best most others. This will keep you from having to drive to the burbs. After gasing up you can head into the store because post the gasing area is the main parking lot. read more

Yelp wants me to tell you more, so I will add that they stay open slightly later than the stores, which is nice. An even nicer feature is that the hoses are long enough to reach the gas tank from either side, which might save you a little time when the lines get long. I'm jumping on the Costco Gas bandwagon! For years I've heard people (mainly family) tell me that I MUST go to Costco to get gas and for years I said, "Nah." Before this location opened, there wasn't a Costco nearby for me to go and second, homegirl here wasn't about to get a membership to Costco just because. Living alone, I never needed stuff in bulk. But they twisted my arm, I got a membership and it's totally worth going to Costco for gas alone! The prices are cheap (I currently fill my Prius on less than $12), it's large and well-lit. There always seems to be someone there to help out if needed, and their gas hoses stretch if you need to pump gas on the opposite end. They have the system down pat. One side is the entrance, the other side is the exit. For the most part, people are in and out. Sometimes you get grouchy drivers that start honking if you don't leave the pump immediately or take a while maneuvering their exit...but grouchy people are everywhere eh? All in all, I'm pleased with this Costco gas location! read more

Super cheap gas and there's a service guy who is super helpful. He comes around and makes sure everything is going well. The pumps are all extra long so the pump doesn't have to be on the same side as your gas tank (just make sure you drive up far enough so it'll reach). I really enjoy getting fuel at the Costco Gas station on Ashland. It's super clean, well lit and always has a staff member around in case you need assistance. Yes, you need a membership or a friend with one to access the fuel pump but I personally believe the membership is worth the savings on fuel. read more

The only issue that bothered me is that the cash back that I got from using the credit card has expired and they did not honor it for me. It was considerable amount of money. As with all Costco gas stations, it's well maintained and the prices are much less than the surrounding options. What makes this one better than the one on Clybourn is entry and exit are easier because it's a much larger space and there is much less traffic in the area. Something that I probably shouldn't say is that this location is cheaper than the Clybourn location as well. read more
