The best thing about this Speedway is that their gas prices are among the lowest in the neighborhood. The worst thing about this Speedway is location, location, location. For some unholy reason they built a gas station on a postage stamp sized corner where all the cars can barely fit next to the pumps, not to mention that every time I go here to gas up there is some jerk parked who is blocking the way into the station because he/she just NEEDS to run inside to purchase that all-important bag of pork rinds. I often wake up in the cold dead of night from ghastly dreams consisting of a world where fountain soda doesn't exist. I then get up, put on some clothes (that's right, nude sleeper, baby) and slippers and crawl, run, walk, somersault, rollerblade, moped, car-jack, hang glide, or web swing over to Speedway. Thus am I satiated. .69 cents for any size fountain soda. You can try for different combinations (patent pending), such as: The Conscientious Snowboarder: Diet Mt. Dew with just a splash of lemonade or Sierra Mist/Sprite and a splash of orange soda. The Law-Abiding Citizen: Coke Zero topped off with a splash of Coke Classic or Cherry Coke The Repeat Offender: Coke Zero with a splash of Pepsi or Wild Cherry Pepsi. I am a loyal Speedway customer. Not particularly of this location but of Speedway in general. I use my Speedy Rewards Card religiously. However I detest going to this location even though it is really close to me. I understand that space is at a premium on the north side of the city. i am not expecting a sprawling Speedway like you will find off of an interstate, but this has to be the smallest lot occupied by a gas station in the Midwest. They have six pumps and if three of them are filled, then you are most likely waiting in line. There also always seems to be a big ass truck blocking things up too. Regardless of the less than perfect location, the gas is still somewhat cheaper than most of the other stations around and the employees are always pleasant and they give me my due Speedy Rewards. I guess I will just quit my bitching and appreciate the positive things. read more

I'm knocking this place down two stars because I feel like their are cheating the Diet Mountain Dew addicts. They no longer sell 44 ounce cups, only 32. But the prices are the same. And according to corporate, they are supposed to have the bigger cups. I hate it when businesses cheat their customers out of 12 ounces of soda and future diabetes. Color me annoyed. read more

Excellent loyalty program, parking can be a pain at times but the options inside and the employees create a welcoming atmosphere.

Cashiers nice and friendly...check Cheapest gas around....check Small (no) parking lot and only 6 pumps....negative check, resulting in: Irritated customers....check....So given that the price of gas at this station is usually 5-25 cents per gallon cheaper than nearby competitors, this place is usually a bit crowded. And, given only two lanes (6 pumps) to choose from, it can get a bit hairy to get in and out without hassle or delay. I've been line jumped twice by hasty customers here. Yes, I do have top back up to the pump given my gas cap is on the right side. But, damn give a guy a break! Not your fault Speedway, but gotta pass on the pain somehow...4 stars versus 5. read more

I just walked in there to make a purchase and the cashier was VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL saying I had an attitude when he was the one with the attitude. I don't understand how I was having an attitude when he was the one who started being speaking rudely to me. I was holding up item to be scanned waiting for him to scan in and after 30 seconds I asked if it was working and he simply replied no. He didn't even request that I move it forward and simply said "You've been having an attitude since yesterday, etc." Personally, when I am purchasing items late at night I usually held items I am purchasing late at night and see if it scans. If not, cashiers politely ask that I move it closer or turn it a bit. Then when I requested my receipt he didn't slide it through window where I was standing and slid it through other side of counter. My friend even tried joking with him saying "that's just who she is" but he continued having an attitude. Not once did he try to be friendly. He simply began being rude from the moment the transaction started. Never have I had such terrible service and I have been going here for over a year and will continue to for the next year. However, if he disrespects me one more time I wont hesitate to give him an attitude check because clearly that's what he needs. He clearly knows nothing about customer service because even if the customer does have attitude you simply smile and move past it. I've worked in the service industry and his attitude and disrespectfulness was unacceptable. Cashier's name was Deandr. I hope management gives him a wake up call. Also, just because I'm not smiling doesn't mean I have an attitude. It's 11pm and i'm obviously not going to be smiling from ear to ear especially when the cashier wasn't and simply starting speaking rudely to me. read more

I have been coming to this gas station for over 10 years. They got rid of all of the sweet employees from the early 2000s, And they replaced them with employees who are VERY rude and lazy. I asked for a sandwich one time and they claimed they were out. So I took it upon myself and glanced in the cooler and saw multiple boxes of sandwiches. I once spoke to the district manager, lets call him Bryan Yeast and he was a totally useless. *my opinion* DO NOT SHOP HERE. There is another gas station literally down the street from this crap hole. It is a Marathon Gas Station Belmont and Western. They also serve grill items and sandwiches. Better priced too! Those employees are more friendlier. Especially the Night time gal. You cant find graveyard people who are as sweet as her. *names not really because i was threaten....true story* read more

People that work there are rude, Rude, RUDE. I went there, the clerk made an error on my credit card, when I pointed it out to him, he asked me to leave the store and never to come back. Since my error involved them owing money, I called the police. They got it worked out, and had he just handled it differently none of the melodrama would have been necessary. I wont be back... Gas prices are cheap especially for being in the city. (Plus my car take premium gas). They have pretty decent food on thier roller grill.just make sure you have your speedway card so you can rack up those points. read more

when you live in roscoe village and tony's burrito mex is already closed there is only one option. speedway. with a nice variety of drinks and snacks you just can't lose. I'd suggest visiting speedway during the 10pm-6am shift when "hey buddy" works. He can't tell you your total in english so you should try to mentally figure out your total before you step up to the plate. read more

I had two papers saying that I had a 25 dollar gift card to macy's, but what I did not know is that you need to redeem it for a plastic card at the gas station. I went in today and they were very nice and told me to call speedway to redeposit the points since they were out of macy's gift cards. The manager was awesome - he called for me and 2 minutes I was on my way with outback gift cards. Great customer service! read more
