I just moved to the area, went to the gas station and paid 1 dollar for a pack of swishers. Then I came back agian and the guy charged me 1.95 and claimed that it's 1+ tax I didn't realized that Chicago city taxes where more than 11%. I live across the street from this Citgo. It's nothing special, however they are always open for those late night needs...ice cream, chips, smokes, soda, etc... When I look out of my window, I see there Gas Price sign, which keeps my living room dimly lit at night and I always know the price of gas. If you ever want to know how much, send me a message and I'll tell you the gas price for the day. I don't know where they get their bananas from, but they are the absolute best bananas I think I've ever had. They are on the counter for 69 cents. Jose has been taking care of my car for years. He is always up front with the estimates and there are never any surprises when it comes to your bill. Jose always explains what needs to be done and why the repairs are needed. I have sent at least a dozen people to BP car care and all of them have loved the work and the prompt service. I had the bad luck of having my car break down in the Burbs last summer and I got overcharged for the mediocre work that was done. Jose could have had the work done at BP car care for half the price. That is why I will not let anyone but Jose fix my car in the future. It's hard to find a mechanic that you trust, I'm lucky to have found this place. read more

If you're in the area after dark, go in and say what's up to Sammy! He's just about the friendliest person you could meet. Because my friends and I frequent the area, he knows our names and when we walk in, he's got the girls' smokes on the counter waiting. And if we're missing someone, he makes sure to inquire where the rest of the brood is. And Sammy (seemingly) never judges one for being TOO inebriated! Well I was sitting at home and my belly was full then I noticed I need to go to the PLOP PLOP room. Well I did a Irish Jig to the bathroom were I found out I'm out of toilet paper!!! What a bad deal life really didn't want me to go that way ,but now I'm in a blunder and feel my tummy let out some Thunder -More like lighting bolts woooo dogggiee. So I got my blue clues shoes on and my Austin powers jacket on with my alf gloves and took the amazing breath taking adventure to the gas station. We were on our way to a Cubs game when our car overheated. No doubt we were going to get raked over the coals with this one... suburban family going to have a good time? Charge them triple, who's gonna know & what can they do about it? The guys took in our car and sent us on our way to the game. Yep, we had to let go, let God. About the 4th inning they called us with a diagnosis & a price. Very reasonable! We were still pretty sure the car wouldn't be there but we went back after the game and THERE IT WAS! I guess they have everything that you would expect in a corner gas station. My only complaint would be a lack of attention to the window washing supplies by the gas pumps, as they are often bone dry and without any towels. That, I suppose, and the fact that Citgo is a multinational oil company with ties to Hugo Chavez. :) I have no problem with the local franchisees though. read more

I frequently am on Ashland Avenue, so this is one of my go-to spots for gas. Have never used service or mini mart. Never too busy or overrun by cabs (probably because gas is a little more expensive). Gets the job done. Will continue to patronize. read more

I live near the gas station. As I'm walking my dog through the parking lot, an employee of the attached tire shop speeds as he is backing up and almost hits my dog. He then gets out of the car and screams at me for being on the company property. They just lost my business. read more

They charge you credit card pricing when you use a Citgo gift card, even though Citgo advertises that these cards are usable in place of cash with no extra fees. I e-mailed/called their corporate and they said this station is in violation of Citgo's policies. But was anything ever done? They still do it... read more

I went in to get an oil change, the mechanic told Me that I needed a break job, I told Him I couldnt afford it at the moment and requested just the oil change. I paid 35 dollars for Him to do nothing to My car. when I did bring My car to another place for the brakes they told Me the oil was black and hadnt been changed. compleate rip off I wont go here ever again. read more

The service at this gas station is incredible! I was driving home in the rain one night after all car service stations were closed and the light that indicated there is low air pressure in my tires comes on. I have no idea how to fill my tires with air! I went to this gas station and the attendant kindly checked all of my tires air pressure and filled the tires that had low pressure with air. I offered the attendant a tip but he refused. This service was above and beyond! I recommend this gas station to everyone! read more

I have been buying my gas from this location for years, I was there again today filling up my truck , just finished paying $71 and realize I did turn off my car but not the ignition, so my truck does not crank. Both mechanics were not doing anything just sitting around, I asked if I can get a jump and one of them yells $20 since it will take him 10 seconds. I was shocked but had a place to go. At the end this dirt bags will kick you when you are down. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with them. Most likely they are over charging you. By the way I have a 15 year old beat up truck, it's not like I rolled over with a Cadillac and they said he has money lets over charge his a$$. So next time even I run out off gas in front off here I will push my truck 3 blocks not to go in there. Its not about the $20 I paid it's their dirt business model I have a problem with. read more
