This BP is right off of Lakeshore Drive in Chicago and is a good gastination if you are heading for all the cool neighbourhoods and need el petrolero desperately before getting stuck in gridlock traffic on your way to Boystown or wherever and ever amen. It's on the south side of the street so it's more convenient if you're heading to Lakeshore Drive but what can you do. It's right on Irving Park. The gas prices are very high here and there are much cheaper stations all over Chicago but sometimes you're desperate. For all kinds of things. (Cue sexy music). read more

Don't go to this gas station. The Internet is always down. Despite an upgrade by TRIO, these pumps suck. They are 20 times longer than all BP station pumps and probably every pump across the United States of America. I feel like there are a few things you need in a gas station, and one of them is for the credit card swipe things to work. I tried four different pumps two different cards and none worked. I then drove to the Shell at Addison and the first one I tried worked, so I know it wasn't my credit cards. read more

This gas station sucks. The receipts never print out at the pump when you purchase a car wash. I wish the employees would get off their lazy butts and service the pumps with properly functioning receipts. I just sat in the car wash line here only to find that my receipt was blank. I had to get out of a long line I was waiting to go inside to get a reprint reflecting my car wash code. The woman behind the counter could not have been any more incompetent in doing her job. First she could not find my transaction - insulating I was full of crap about purchasing a wash, then could not figure out which pump I used. I spent 10 minutes standing there holding up the line while she attempted to function at doing her job. She was rude and acted as if I inconvenienced her. Currently $3.99/gallon. Screw you. AM/PM is big and has a lot to choose from. From food, cigs, auto accessories, and lotto tickets. At night, they close the store and anything you need, you tell the worker through a window and they go and fetch it for you. The car wash is $6/$7/$8 depending on which one you get. Its a typical blah wash. The dryer is always on BS. One time I went, my time expired but it still continued to blow [holler] and the last time, I didn't even move my car because I know there is sensor and my car was no more than half way thru and it decided to turn off even though I had a minute left. Oh and you have to pay for the vacuum. There are a lot of places in chicago now that let you do the vacuum for free. Swing by there and save your $2 read more

This review is for the Car Wash. I have used it a couple times; one because it is very close, and also because I have gotten gas and wanted to get the salt off my SUV. They don't offer a discount on gas, or the wash when bought together like some other places. The is not touchless, and does not reach all of the places on my SUV. It left gaps down the back where it couldn't reach. Also the Underbody is very week, and doesn't seem to have enough pressure to wash anything off of the bottom. read more

There is an Indian kid who works here who is either really bad at his job or a hostile liar. I'm pretty sure it is the latter. I paid cash and then spent ten minutes with a pump that would not work. Instead of helping me, he gave me attitude and said it was my fault and that I was not hanging up the nozzle. In fact I had been hanging up the nozzle and waiting each time. This kid has NO clue what customer service is. I had to go into the store three times and each time he treated me with more disdain. I believe he was intentionally refusing to program the pump. Today my boyfriend and I woke up, went out to the car to head back to his place, and noticed that we had a flat tire on the car and that the donut needed air. This was the closest gas station around and we were grateful that they had air that actually worked and wasn't frozen. I never fill up here, instead I visit the convenience store occasionally to get a cup of coffee. Their coffee is pretty good, with a ton of flavored syrups, fresh dairy, and even sugar in the raw to add in. They occasionally hand out coupons for free coffee, and even have a card that gives you a free cup after you've purchased five. I wouldn't normally write a review for a place like this except the staff that works here are really friendly and welcome you in with a nice hearty good morning. That's a nice thing because typically the reason I'm there is that I've missed my bus and decide to grab a cup of coffee... a small consolation, knowing that I'll yet again be late for work. read more

I come here for gas and snacks. Yeah the gas prices suck but I'd rather have a nice big gas station than a hole in the wall with pot holes and bad pumps. The staff is nice and they are good at putting up signs when the occasional pump does go out. The best thing about this place is the fountain drinks. They have 32oz drinks for $0.79, lots of variety and the choice of two types of ice! I go here for fountain drinks and 7-Eleven up the street when I want my soda in a plastic bottle. The most annoying thing is kids from the nearby schools tend to hang out here but if you know when to go, you can avoid them. read more

I was next in a long line of people waiting at the counter. When the older gentlemen wanted to get his lotto ticket cashed in. The African American lady cashier who seemed to be not in a good mood just automatically gave the gentleman a ticket's worth of his winning. But the gentleman refused to take it because she failed to listen to him first. But instead of apologizing and just correcting the mis-communication, she went on yelling at the gentleman saying she will not give it back to him. Mind you that this guy is a senior citizen who is probably past 80. I got so distracted to her rant in front of all these customers in line that when the next cashier came up to help, (who I did not get his name but he seems to be asian or hispanic, wears glasses, balding head) he calls out for the next customer and I did not hear him the first time. The second time he yells with that disgruntled tone and I looked at him with his expression of impatience. This got me all fuming. This BP Gas is only a block from me but with this type of customer service I would gladly be getting gas and other items at the station across the street. I don't understand why companies such as BP would hire people in customer service who obviously do not have the skills to handle customers. Customers tend to be very demanding but from what I've seen today, there was definitely a lack in professionalism of the employees. My day got ruined because of the scene made. And I'm sure I wasn't the only one. To BP, until I get over this, or become more confident about the professionalism of your business, I would rather be giving my money to your competitions. read more

I bought a car wash with my gas today. I followed the wash instructions exactly as posted -- driving into the wash bay until it told me to stop. The wash ran and when I drove out and got out of the car, I found that the car didn't get cleaned at all! The water, soap, and brushes didn't even touch it, even though the machine ran all around me. I moved-in around the corner about a year ago. This looked to be the most reputable gas station in the immediate area. The more I went there more less I thought of it, today broke the camels back. I actually got off my sweaty mid july arse and registered with YELP just to review this place. I will start with the high points:The place is clean, I will give them that. But you or your car cant eat clean. I tried their cookies, and they were not half bad. So if are looking for a clean place with decent cookies, read no further. Low points: Expensive gas, .25 block away is the Amoco. Cheaper gas every time, and there is a Starbucks across the street! Car wash, I have used it twice and it is very hit or miss. Avoid it unless you are in a pinch. A lot of places down Irving Park will give you a discount on the wash if you buy gas, pretty sure that isnt the case here. AIR COMPRESSOR. All BPs I have been to in the past have free air for customers. This place has a sticker on the machine that says free air for customers. But when you ask, they say no. WTF. I wouldnt mind paying the $.75 for air but take down the free air sign. Food: all under heat lamps, it is ok but overall it is heat lamp crap. Hit McDs down the street if you need cheap breakfast. read more

This location is not the spot to stop if you are looking for the CHEAPEST GAS AROUND. But if you want pure connivence, then look no further. Easy access into the parking lot, with plenty of space to navigate your care (think first time drivers). In addition you will find a car wash around back. It's not a touch less wash, so you will not get that new car look upon exiting, but I would highly recommend this place in the dead of winter to get some of the road grime off. read more

Stay away! I often rent cars and need to fill the tank prior to return. On two separate occasions, I've had credit card issues. The first time, I was told it was that "their card readers at the pump don't read cards with chips." The second time, I used a card without a chip at the pump and "it was declined." Each time, I've been forced to charge more on the card than I need, though I get back the difference later. My cards work flawlessly everywhere else but there. The second time, the guy getting gas at the next pump said he had the same experience. Something stinks here. Oh, and the clerk cops an attitude. read more

Their car wash dented my car! The door was broken on the outside of the car wash and as I pulled out the wind blew and it smashed the side of my car, leaving a big dent. When I told the employees about it, they didn't even seem concerned about the fact that the door was broken and it could possibly happen to another car. read more
