My updated review is strictly on the car wash experience. My car has looked terrible since I have not had an actual car wash since we went into lockdown (other than an occasional heavy rain storm) so I needed a socially distanced car wash. Thankfully this automated car wash was the answer! You pay at the credit card machine located right before the door raises up for you to enter. There were about 4 cars ahead of me and each car took about 5 minutes, so although its a "quick car wash", that calculation doesn't take into account the line ahead of you. This BP has garbage all around the property. Filthy and there is bo way garbage accumulates like that daily. The grounds are terrible. Their car wash is usually out if service on Sunday's. Worst experience ever! I was dressed in a suit for a very important meeting on the northside and stopped to get some gas before hitting the road. I was done filling the gas and the nozzle was in the right place and it just overflowed....I let go of the the trigger it still kept gushing and all over my shoes. I had to attend an important meeting like an explosive oil tanker. When I narrated my experience to my colleagues, 2 of them shared similar experience at other BPs. Worst gas station in the area. Not that the bar is high... The most rude, ignorant employees. They lied about the air dispenser being fixed, so I drove all the way there only to find out it was still broken. Since I made the trip I went in for a Coke, and of course that machine wasn't working either; no matter what button you hit - and I tried Coke, Diet Coke, and Coke Zero - whatever came out tasted like a mix of root beer and orange soda. Great facility. I came mainly for a car wash. I asked the cashier if I could and she politely said yes and processed my payment. The car wash itself is great. $8 for the premium and $6 for the standard. It is a pull up, park and let the machine wash for ~5 minutes type of wash. It is NOT a touchless carwash. I came in with my black car so dirty that you thought the base color was grey/white and this wash did a great job. It hit spots that those drive thru car washes would miss. 10/10! read more

EXPENSIVE! Yea I know it's the city... but this gas station is even expensive for the city! I paid 50 cents MORE per gallon than I would if I had just filled up in the burbs. Never has paper in machines for receipts, argue about car wash receipts and won't print out new one. People have fleet vehicles and need receipts. If you can't provide it, then indicate it at the pump. Can't remember the last time I didn't have to walk inside. Then you say something about paper being out and they just look at you. My rear windshield wiper came off during the carwash in my brand new car (3 weeks old). The manager was very helpful and apologetic. There are several signs posted noting that they will not be responsible for any damage, so I was very well aware of that. However, I will not be going back here. read more

These people are small business thugs. The shop inside is a filthy disorganized mess. The equipment outside is barely maintained junk. Pumps routinely crap out while pumping. Is the gallonage even accurate? Printers deliberately out of paper, in a cynical attempt to make fuel customers go into the store. And staff are hostile and unfriendly - no doubt due to the stream of complaints that management ignores. Of special note is the car wash which routinely has broken parts and sees the customers attacked by homeless "wipers" who run greasy rags over your car and block you until you tip them. Complaints to BP are ignored. BP - the company responsible for the biggest oil spill in history. Give this station a pass. read more

I gave it three stars because of the location and that amazing car wash. Gas is pricier down town..does not seem fair. The car wash has wheel washers and can take credit cards while in line waiting. The cycle for premium wash is long about 7 minutes so it is easy for cars to get piled up. In the summer people form another line along the pumps when the main line is full to the street and I got hollered at by a guy in a truck when I pulled right in off the street and did not see the line to my left along the pumps. How would I possibly know it was a carwash line??wrapping around the lot. The car wash has wheel washing- I say it again- and dries your car well. What I don't like is in the summer they allow guys to stand outside as you exit and offer to dry your car. It blocks the lot and egress from the wash. Inside they offer great sandwiches in the case, beverages, car essentials, lottery and great coffee flavors. The lot can get congested and care must be taken in backing out of parking spots in front of the store. They have ATM; bathrooms needs work and updates. But all in all convenient. read more

Don't purchase gas here unless your ready to give $$$ away. Went in to pump gas the other day when it was below zero, put my card in the pump and the pump wouldn't reset. Went inside, the cashier (Alex) suggested running my card inside, so I did. Went back out to the pump and still wouldn't reset. When I went back in she said it void out when I placed the pump handle back in the cradle, so I went on to the location on Congress/Dearborn and filled up (2 receipts are time-stamped 2 minutes apart and one 20 minutes from the voided one). As I explained there's no way I filled my tank twice in 20 minutes. After speaking to the onsite manager (Joanne) she looked a the receipts, agreed it made sense to her and asked if I could email her a screenshot showing that the charge actually posted and wasn't pending...so I did along with copies of the receipts. I called to follow up and let her know the email was sent, she stated she would call me back by 10:00am (90 minutes). No call, email, follow up. This place is slick because the manager starts at 6am (until ?) but by the afternoon and evening there's no manager on duty, so during the time of day it would be busier and the staff would need the support of the manager to resolve issues there will be no resolution. Next step is to dispute the charge through my bank and write a complaint to the BBB. Do they realize there are SO many gas stations in the city and they are not the only option? From what I'm reading, I'm not the only one in the neighborhood to have a bad experience here and plan to share it will all my neighbors via our intranet (500 units) as well, people should know what to expect if they go to this location. read more

Specifically regarding the car wash: 1. The automatic wash scratched the roof of my (brand new) car. 2. The machine at which you pay for your wash as you drive up accepts only exact change cash or a code purchased with fuel. Someone needs to tell this place it isn't 1989 anymore and that the South Loop is safer now. It's ridiculous that they close their food mart from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Anyone any heard of late night munchies? I could go to Jewel across the street and buy four times what I need but it'd be much easier to walk into this food mart if it were open. You can still get gas and name products for the person at the window to get you but it's not worth it. For one, since it depends on the window, it's a great spot for aggressive homeless people to coalesce which actually makes it more dangerous and second, this gas station is much more expensive than nearby gas stations (60 cents more as of today). I enjoy some of the workers. I work around the corner, however the car wash is a no no. I sat stuck for an hour waiting watching people walk back and forth to pay. It also snatched my plate half way off. The workers do not know how to fix anything or even reset the thing. Be warned, the barriers at the end of the gas pump islands project WAY too far into paths of cars than is necessary. In February, on the first mildly temperate Sunday in memory when customers were crammed every which way trying to jockey for an open pump -- which happens all to often unfortunately -- while pulling up to a pump and trying to avoid a car on my left which was circling the OTHER direction to get to the other side of the pump, I crushed my rear passenger door against one of these barriers. This gas station never feels safe. There are people hanging around the perimeter daily. Lately there are guys at the exit of the car wash wanting to dry your car. The car wash has a dryer. There is no need for the men to hang around the exit. It is VERY unsafe especially for a female. In addition, you cannot print your gas receipt from the pumping station. You MUST go inside for it.
