I wasn't going to find a better price on gas but Shell is usually a pretty good brand. It's a bit confusing that it's Shell gas but a Circle K station. I pulled up and filled my tank but it wouldn't print me a receipt so I had to walk inside and wait in line to get my receipt anyway. They were fairly quick and friendly.

That experience was awful too, as the employee cared more about the customers waiting inside the minimart as opposed to fixing the issue with me and getting me out of the car wash. In fact, the employee had to call his manager before I could even get out - an almost 20-minute ordeal! On the plus side, their mini-mart is average and is usually stocked well and notwithstanding that car wash issue, their employees are fairly friendly. Nonetheless, I would recommend going to another Shell station and skipping this one. Your overall experience will likely be better.

Anyway, for today Friday 7-25-2025, the surprising Cook County price leader for regular gas is Costco Oakbrook, and hooray for them! Here are the survey results fyi. Melrose Park was a very close second place in Cook County. DuPage County is cheaper than Lake County. The standings could probably change every day but I'm guessing not significantly but I may check again one day if curious and as usual not doing anything useful. Look at that WI vs IL spread, uugggh. This was my first experience at a Woodman's Market. I found it to be an okay experience but not…read morestellar. First, the store is enormous. You can probably find just about anything you need there. It kind of reminded me of Meijer but larger. The layout of the store is very confusing. Specialty items like gluten-free items can be mixed in with regular items, set off by themselves, or both. So, finding them wasn't that easy. From what we read of Woodman's before going, the did get good reviews on the amount and variety of gluten-free products. The same can be said for anything dairy-free. Their TV commercials talk about their great prices. I agree the items we saw on sale tended to be bargain, but the rest of the store seemed high. They are probably less expensive than Jewel, but more expensive than Valli Produce. We did get a lot while we were there and the total price was higher than we expected. So, overall, if you check their website for items on sale and you are near to a Woodman's, then by all means, the value is great. But if you don't live close to a Woodman's (like me), they aren't a great value but do have lots of specialty items.

Gas station personnel went in to retrieve my broken light after I called them. The man insisted that it was already broken. It was not. He refused to acknowledge the damage to my vehicle. Do not go to Woodmans for your automotive needs!
