Anyway, for today Friday 7-25-2025, the surprising Cook County price leader for regular gas is Costco Oakbrook, and hooray for them! Here are the survey results fyi. Melrose Park was a very close second place in Cook County. DuPage County is cheaper than Lake County. The standings could probably change every day but I'm guessing not significantly but I may check again one day if curious and as usual not doing anything useful. Look at that WI vs IL spread, uugggh. Well the person ahead of us their turn was over and it was flagging them ahead but the person didn't move?! So our wash was already in process and by time we pulled into place it stopped and the wash was over! We want a refund! Such bullshit!! Now we know why there was nobody here! There were no rails to pull into nothing that tells you pull forward or stop? Were we suppose to put in neutral? Just messed up!!

I usually get my car washed at the bigger car wash joint down the street, but that place closes at…read more9 p.m. So when I was having a rad-as-hell Saturday night and decided to pause my Arrested Development binge at midnight to get my car cleaned, Bucky's was my sole option in the area. And I know it's a car wash at a gas station, but was more impressive than I thought it'd be. I bought gas first, and I really liked the new branding Mobil had going on. There were some slick red and blue-colored structures above each pump, which looked extremely cool. I should also add that I use this phrase "new branding," but also that I rarely go to Mobil and this could've been a change made seven years ago. This Bucky's/Mobil trip is also notable because it was the first time I'd ever checked "yes" at a gas station when asked if I wanted to add a car wash. At Bucky's/Mobil, I saved 10 cents per gallon when adding a wash. That rocks. I only paid $8 for the car wash, which was pretty detailed and quick, and according to my dad, was "gentler on my car" than most washes. I have no idea what that means, if that's even true, or how such a thing is determined... but he's a dad, so I trust it. :) If you ever need a late-night car wash or want to try this inconspicuous gas and car wash spot, go for it! You might like it more than you think.

Do not go here. I reached my limits with them. The employee with long hair seriously made me wait…read moreoff the property until 6am when they opened saying it's private property. The time was 5:45am. I've also had numerous issues with an older man whom speaks no English and rushes people through the line if you take too long and makes fun of you if you enter the pin number wrong. He has no clue how to perform the simplest task. I've spoken with ownership, and he is worse. He stands by his employees and defends them making fun of you when you take too long at the register. As of today, I will no longer be a customer of this once outstanding franchise of Mobil Gas. I'm asking you to kindly join me in this peaceful protest. Both of my headlights went out a few days of each other, it was snowing and getting dark, so i…read morepulled into this gas station. Alex, the mechanic, told me that he could change them first thing in the morning. I came back the next day and dropped my car off. Alex offered to drive me home, which was very nice of him, but I didn't need a ride. He texted me after he changed the headlights and told me that my break pads needed to be replaced. It's winter and I don't want bad breaks, so I had him replace them instead of taking my car to the Mercedes dealership. I dropped my car off for headlights and picked it up with new headlights, new break pads, my rims detailed and he filled my tires because the tire pressure warning was on. While I'm a bit indifferent about the gas station itself, I can't say enough about how much I like Alex in the repair shop. He was way cheaper than the dealership and I love supporting small businesses.
