I'm thoroughly impressed by how easy it was to approach them and educate myself on guns I'm not familiar with. Being new to firearms I was able to soak up a lot of knowledge just by being in their store and listening to these two gunsmiths talk. All I can say is, wow. Referred to this store by my friend, I can see why he does most of his shopping and gun work here. Their selection is modest at best but you can order online and pay a small fee (around $10-15) to have your firearm delivered to them. Their online selection is immensely larger than most, they've attached themselves to several distributors in the area and I have to say this is a great advantage if you're willing to wait. The turnaround for purchases online is quick, painless and easy as well. Pricing is very competitive when compared to other local stores as their overhead is like comparing a penny to gold. If you're looking for a firearm that agrees with your wallet or if you need a gunsmith that doesn't have an inferiority complex, this is your place.

I was standing at the counter when someone came in wanting to sell a gun, the owner picked up the gun and neglected to point in in a safe area to check/clear it. It was pointed sideways right at my midsection while he looked at it. I backed away from the counter and left. My biggest issues is that this is not a gun that he had inspected previously, he was literally just introduced to it and handled it like it was not a firearm. I will never go back there.

Couldn't have imagined a better experience if I tried! I initially called to check availability and Wes was very friendly and answered all my preliminary questions. When I arrived, he took time to recommend a rental - the phoenix trinity 2011 (which was amazing to shoot) - and explained the reasoning behind that choice. All of his advice was spot on and he then took the time to explain grip, stance, safety, and answer the multitude of questions I had. He even took the time to let me practice with dummy rounds so I was comfortable reloading and knew how everything worked. At no point did anyone make me feel bad about being a beginner - despite there being other customers who clearly were much more advanced than me. The rentals are also very noticeably well maintained. Since this was my first time shooting at a range and I didn't feel comfortable being alone, he incredibly kindly contributed his time to come in to the lanes with me and make sure I was comfortable, doing everything right/safely, and answer further questions. I can't begin to express my gratitude for Wes spending so much of his time to make this experience once I thoroughly enjoyed. I learned so much and I can't wait to come back! I would go out of my way to come back to this place specifically - it's worth it. As with most Dick's, they have a solid selection of sportswear and you can usually get a solid deal on good quality athletic and athleisure wear. My only gripe with this location is the service, or lack thereof. On my last two trips in I was looking for something specific and needed assistance locating. Finding an associate that wasn't on the registers was nearly impossible, and when I did spot one, they seemed to scatter when they felt I was going to approach with a question. On both trips, I ultimately just looked, didn't find and left. And oddly on my way out, both cashiers who were not assisting other customers didn't even interact.
