I don't know if the tragically low ratings are warranted. But I do agree that there are several disappointments here. My wife was in search of the famed Bombas socks, size large. Good luck with that because all we found were small and medium. Have you not noticed the plethora of tall, athletic women in Williamson County? Note, Bombas socks are not with the socks near the shoe section because they find the need to have two sock sections. She also found an unusually low stock of leggings (compared to other Dick's) outside of the Calia brand that she doesn't prefer. Again, see comments about athletic females in this county. On the bright side, they're definitely keeping up with the Williamson County lacrosse craze and offer a tremendous variety of equipment in all popular sports for young people (except maybe ice hockey). Situated in the large shopping plaza on Mallory Lane anchored by Kroger, this Dick's is your standard location. I pop in on occasion and have shopped for clothes, shoes, grills and coolers. As with most Dick's, they have a solid selection of sportswear and you can usually get a solid deal on good quality athletic and athleisure wear. My only gripe with this location is the service, or lack thereof. On my last two trips in I was looking for something specific and needed assistance locating. Finding an associate that wasn't on the registers was nearly impossible, and when I did spot one, they seemed to scatter when they felt I was going to approach with a question. On both trips, I ultimately just looked, didn't find and left. And oddly on my way out, both cashiers who were not assisting other customers didn't even interact. The store is kept in good condition and is clean on each visit. Always stocked well and easy to navigate. Overall, not the best Dick's experiences. read more

Popped in last night for new shoes, Micah and Tony were fantastic!! I wasn't sure what size I'd be in On Cloud and Micah was super patient bringing me sizes until the fit was right. I grabbed two pairs of them and then repeated the size game with Hoka and grabbed a pair of those too. They were really busy and none of us had to wait for shoes. Solid customer service !! Worst return policy ever I've experienced in my life. I drove 30 minutes to this location to exchange a pair of Nike shorts for a Large instead of a medium and they made it such a huge deal that they could not find my proof of purchase in the system since i had no receipt. Told me to call 1-800 customer service to locate my receipt first then i can come back in to do the exchange. So stupid. read more

I went in fully expecting to buy some running shoes but instead left empty handed. There were many employees but all were either visiting with each other or engrossed with stocking their inventory or moving displays around. This is my first bad review to write. I even waited till today just to make sure I wasn't mad any longer but I still am. I'm not really a Dick's shopper, I'll go to sports academy any day cause I love their prices and customer service... This was my 2nd trip to Dick's cause I couldn't find Vball shoes any place else... I thought I'd give them another try after my first visit wasn't that great. When my child and I went to the shoe dept both of the people working over there acted as if I wasn't there.. They did this to me when I first came to the store and left. They all the sudden both go in the back before asking if we needed help, or anything. We couldn't find the shoes were looking for so we waited a bit. After it was apparent they were not going to come back out I go to the back room ask start calling for someone. They acted as if I was bothering them. I didn't think any place would let the only two people that worked in a dept go on break at the same time so I didn't feel wrong in having to go back there.. He was very rude to us and from the door just pointed where the shoes were.. I asked once more because I had no idea where he was talking about and he's darts over there huffing and puffing cause he had to show us.. Didn't ask us a size or anything. Just said these shoes are over there and you can just find your size... I was pissed. Him and the other guy that was working there both came back out but again. nothing.. didn't ask if we were ok needed help or anything... They leave again and we found the shoe we wanted but of course it was the one on display and it wasn't the one on display where we were.. So here I go again back to the back and ask for the shoe.. He had the nerve to say, we've just made this to hard for you.. If I didn't need these shoes we would of left at that point... After going to check out the lady up front didn't say hello, did you find everything ok, just acted rude like us coming to her line was our worst mistake. She just called out the price I owed, not have a good day or anything... This WILL be my last visit to this store.. I thought "there's no possible way the customer service can possibly be as bad as these Yelp reviews indicate!" I bravely ventured to the Dick's Sporting Goods of Cool Springs, Tennessee. I entered only several minutes after open, so there were only two or three other customers there. I saw three employees "working" the floor, performing the following important tasks: 1) leaning against a rack of clothes texting intently 2 and 3) sword fighting with pool noodles...? I wasn't expecting great customer service - it's kind of the schtick at Dick's to get really crappy service - but this was above and beyond. I was going to buy a pair of shoes, found the ones I wanted immediately (the display model was my size!), but couldn't find a single employee to help me purchase them. I put them down and walked out. This afternoon I was walking on the sidewalk in front of the Cool Springs' Dick's Store. As we are in the middle of a pandemic, I had my bandanna over my mouth, and as I pass Dick's (not intending to shop there, just passing by)--the gestapo of a woman working for Dick's shouts, "STOP!!!" I stopped. She barked at me again as she flailed her arms in the air. "Six Feet Away!", shouting even louder. She then barked, "We're not open!" I proceeded to tell her, I was not planning on entering your store today (and after today, I'll think twice about ever entering to be honest)--I am just using the public sidewalk. I said, "Calm down." She laughed at me. I immediately called and asked for a manager. I explained what happened. He said, "I totally understand. I will talk to her." No apology was offered. Which did not shock me as I have noticed lately it appears that retail managers and associates have forgotten or never knew that phrase in the first place. Brick and mortar stores wonder why Amazon is kicking their tails. What happened today is exactly why--when management and associates act like the name of THIS store!! I read more

Went at 8pm on a Monday evening, there did not appear to be more than 10 customers in the entire store. Asked floor personnel first for assistance in football equipment and he didn't acknowledge I was even there. If he was assisting someone else that's fine, then he could have said he would help me in a moment or could have called other floor personnel over. But instead did not say a word to me while I waited for 20 min. I went to cashier to call someone else to that dept and still no one came to assist. Left and went straight to academy sports who had friendly helpful personnel when we walked in the door. And the equipment we needed was cheaper than Dicks as well. So save yourself some time, money and frustration and go to Academy first. read more

I went to Dick's for an archery target. At checkout, the clerk refused to ring up the sale unless I provided proof of age (I'm 60). She said it was required because the target could be used with a "weapon". I checked with the manager on duty, and confirmed that's Dick's policy, although in my experience no other sporting retailer does this. I find it an offensive invasion of privacy, and just wanted to let anyone know who might feel the same. I didn't realize Dick's was hostile to hunters and shooters. I left Dick's, went down the street to WalMart and bought a nicer target for $20 less. read more

I like the feel of the store and it has a big selection to choose from though I noticed not a lot of clothing above Medium. However, I saw 4 or 5 employes. One smiled and another asked if they could help me. By the time that employee had asked I had already been in the store for 10 or 15 minutes sort of wondering around confused. Visited twice. First visit stood ignored at the shoe selection despite there being an "assistant", finally left in disgust. Figured I would mark visit as an isolated one of those things. Visited again to buy an item which required a dolly to move. Spoke to the worlds most uninterested member of staff in the fitness section. Not so much as a smile. More like who is this guy and what does he want me to do! He put item on dolly and wheeled to front. Item rang up way over listed price but was quickly rectified. I then just assumed he would use the dolly to help me out to my waiting vehicle. As we exited I though I would make small talk and said "well this gets you out in the sun for a few minutes" to which his response was "yeah just this once". Did he really expect me to carry it out myself when he needed a dolly? Big glossy store. Crap service. Go elsewhere. read more

I don't live in or around Cool Springs and had to look up to see if they even had a Dicks. I'm not a huge fan of the Dick's brand but they have some basic stuff in a pinch. I do have a an appointment three times a week at Vanderbilt Orthopedics Cool Springs as a patient of Dr. Doug Weikert (totally the greatest - I had him fix something another doctor out of the Murfreesboro area left, how should I say, sub-optimal) and Gary Robinson and Monyca Champion in OT/PT who are primo. Well, it was a Friday, not my area, not my store but I look online, find an inexpensive item, a sub-$100 ladder stand. I ring in, "Do you have one?" "Yes" say they. I explain it is Friday, were I am going and how much I hate Cool Springs' traffic (...what is up with the 65 construction? Fast-fix 5 that one bridge already), will you grab one and put it up front for me so I can "cash and dash." Totally no problem, what's my name. "Oh what else do you have on special a good 'ol boy might want on special?" ... I did get a couple of packages of haul-up cordage. I usually don't leave reviews and will probably never shop at Dicks Cool Springs again but, these reviews were old and sorta bad. And my experience was both new and not. Turn the other cheek, love your neighbor, life is short, get over yourself and let your voice be heard for both bad - and the good. It is only fair. read more

Well they definitely call it Dicks for a reason. The sales associate from the shoe department was extremely rude. I asked him a question about a coat and his response was "I don't know I work in the shoe department and I'm looking for something for myself." and instead of him going to find somebody that can actually help me, he continued to shop for him self, while on the clock. This store allows customers to make large ticket purchases ($500 range) without checking the ID of the purchaser resulting in credit card fraud that could have been stopped with the checking of an ID. Maybe not a reason to not shop there but it sure is for me. They aren't too apologetic or helpful afterwards either. read more

I took my son's bike there for a simple repair. They needed to order a part. I had asked that they call me to let me know how much it would cost. After A few days, I called them to inquire because I had not heard from anyone. They told me that the part has been ordered. Luckily, the cost was minimal so I agreed to go ahead and have it completed. However, days and weeks went by and I never heard from them. I would call about once or twice a week in the beginning to inquire, always to be told that the part has been ordered but they had no idea when it would be in. Finally, after at least four weeks, I had almost forgotten that we even had a bike in the shop, but I called them to see if it was finished. Surprise! It is ready. I asked the man if he knew when it had been finished because I had not heard from them, but he had no idea. I'm giving them a one for terrible customer service and no follow up. In addition, each time I called, I would be on hold for at least 6 minutes. read more
