Don't ask me why the sign on Ted's is upside-down. I'm sure there's a neat story behind it, but for…read moreme Ted's doesn't need a gimmick to draw attention. The stores inside is enough to make it a worthy destination. A mix of decades past are all represented within. From a thirties feel, to the fifties style toys, a flood of memories will overcome and almost overwhelm your thought. This alone is worth the price of admission, which of course, there is none. The only price you'll pay is maybe a few tears shed from the memory of holding your father's hand before he let you go to explore the vast array of wonders on display. Those wonders are still to be found at Ted's. The memories for your children will be sure to follow. As you wander the floor you may catch a creak from the floorboards. Or maybe a long forgotten scent of a musty box that once permeated a thought of when life was more simple and when your sole purpose was to have fun. There's plenty of cool stuff in the store today that can fulfill your want. That includes the friendly staff. They'll take the time to answer your questions and meet your need. They may even have some time to chew the fat with you. Though that time may be limited as it can get quite busy in the sporting goods game. But of course, now that you've been there, you'll be wanting to return. If only to reminice. Quick Tip: On the day I was there with my grandchildren, there was an old gentleman sitting on a bench in the foyer of the storefront. He fit right in with the ambiance. He looked like he had a lot of stories in him. I wish that we had slowed down to have a talk. Next time for sure. When the kids aren't so impatient to get to the doughnut shop.

A favorite stop when visiting our kids in Columbia! Friendly staff, cool stuff, like going back in…read moretime.

I've read some of the reviews here, but I've not had the same experience as others. I've been to…read morethis locations multiple times and purchased a shotgun, a rifle, cargo pants, ammo and some boots. I've never had an issue, they were always helpful. Their prices are very competitive and if you search the website you can get really good coupon deals to use in the store. On my last rifle purchased I saved $220 compared to Bass Pro Shops and Academy Sports. Again, my experience with the Columbia location has been much better others I've read.

The manager looked at us 2x and never said anything. No help at all anywhere, none in the shoe department, oh and how they rearranged that area is ridiculous. Super narrow aisles, very high shelves, shoes are no longer on top so it's hard to see what's what. And its very poor lighting. Looks even dumpier now. Then check out. What a gem he was! No greeting again when we put the shoes on the counter to pay. Not a hello, or a did you find everything ok? Nothing. Not. One. Word. He mumbled the price and my husband paid, then again, nothing. No thank you, nothing. Retail is 99.9% customer service. Even if you don't have items in stock, or for any reason - ALWAYS GREET THE CUSTOMER! OFFER HELP! And if there isn't enough help cause no one wants to work there, then pay more and maybe you'll retain people. Make it a pleasant environment. It's like a miserable morgue vibe in there. I used to be a retail manager so I know what customer service is. Its NOT THIS PLACE! They need to read "The Nordstrom Way" and get a clue. I won't ever shop there again or give them one more penny of our money. It's never been good there, but this time it was the worst!!! GET WITH IT CORPORATE AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS STORE!!!

As with most Dick's, they have a solid selection of sportswear and you can usually get a solid deal on good quality athletic and athleisure wear. My only gripe with this location is the service, or lack thereof. On my last two trips in I was looking for something specific and needed assistance locating. Finding an associate that wasn't on the registers was nearly impossible, and when I did spot one, they seemed to scatter when they felt I was going to approach with a question. On both trips, I ultimately just looked, didn't find and left. And oddly on my way out, both cashiers who were not assisting other customers didn't even interact. The store is kept in good condition and is clean on each visit. Always stocked well and easy to navigate. Overall, not the best Dick's experiences.

As a rabbit owner, I am very upset to see the awful conditions Columbia Farm Supply keeps their…read morerabbits for sale in. They house rabbits (purchased from a local breeder) in wire-bottom cages, and cram multiple rabbits into these small areas. They do not provide proper nutrition or adequate amounts of water to the animals either. I have taken pictures for reference. I visit this store every Sunday to purchase hay and pellets for my own rabbits. On multiple occasions, I have tried to gently educate the employees about the correct diet for rabbits. Grass hay is essential to a rabbit's diet as it supports a healthy digestive system. The rabbits are suppose to have unlimited access to hay so they can graze all day long (similar to cows, goats, and horses). I tried explaining to employees at this store the importance of the grass hay. They sell the product in their store; yet have still not given the rabbits a single strand of hay to eat. They choose to feed pellets only, which will eventually make the rabbits ill. There is research to support this. Also, they do not lock the cage doors, which allows for anyone to grab and mishandle these fragile creatures. I have witnessed on numerous occasions small children reaching in and harmfully picking up these rabbits. Also, I have taken pictures of a rabbit whose fur was matted, and who had an injury behind its eye (probably a bite wound from one of the rabbits it is forced to share the small space with). I was very unhappy with the responses I received from the employees I spoke with. They did not seem to care about the husbandry or diet for these live animals at all. The wire-bottom cages cause a painful condition on the bottom of the rabbits' feet called "sore hocks". These animals do not have paw pads or hooves to protect their feet. They are forced to bear their body weight on these metal floors all day long. I hate to purchase supplies from this store as I feel I am supporting their animal neglect and abuse.

I live in Cali and come to this side of Tullahoma Tn to visit family. First off, I'd like to say…read morethat the selection of items are great in store especially since I'm an outdoors gal who enjoys the great outdoors. But that's it. Each time I purchased something that I had to quickly exchange for better size, I experienced a GIANT hassle (with tags and receipt all intact in a timely matter). For example, I bought a pair of hiking boots on sale but when I came back only two days later to exchange (unused boots wth tags still attached) for a half-size smaller, they did not honor the sale price from the original receipt!!!!! I had to pay the difference for the full amount!!!! That's just wrong AND bad business practice. More recently (May 8, 2025), my elderly mom was with me in store and she paid (in cash) for one pair of sandals as an early bday present to me. I came back only one day later to get a smaller size (again not used and tags still attached) but forgot the receipt in the car where my elderly mom was waiting. After explaining this to the two gals working the cashier, they said I had to have receipt in hand so I ran out to get the receipt in car. After coming back only a minute later, I was ordered by the two same saleswomen who originally said they needed the receipt to go to the end of line where I had to wait again. Patiently waiting, I got to the front of the line worried about my mom and the cashier asked for my credit card and inadvertently charged me! I did not notice bc I thought she was politely doing the exchange while I was rushing to get back outside the store. After flying home and perusing my purchases and checking account online, I only then realized that I was charged twice for one pair of sandals, and stupid me threw away the original paid-in-cash receipt while packing to fly back home. This really sucks bc if they check their sales records for both days, then they will realize I was charged twice for one pair sandals!!!! Each instance I asked for the store manager and/or supervisor, and was told that I was dealing with them. I feel like if I called to ask to get my little bit of money back, they will NOT want to cooperate bc sales are clearly more important to this store franchise than helping customers and dealing fairly with them!
