One of my favorite drop-in spots! I've been coming here on and off since 2008 and I love local unique dive bar places with character and locals where you can just sit and enjoy yourself and have a great time. Right now, my favorite bartender is Christian. He has a funny sense of humor and excellent service. During the evening, the atmosphere here goes on well. Especially when it gets busy. I hope this place stays around for a long time. I refer my out of town friends here whenever they come and ask for a new place to go to. I tell them "Thomson's Corner" is something you gotta see..... it's history. read more

This place is great. The bartenders are usually super cool. There's one guy, anyone who been here knows who I'm talking about, who's always in just an OK mood and just there to work. But it's a spot you shouldn't sleep on, 2 great pool tables, no draft beer but full bar and huge fridge of random drinks. We always get twisted tea. No food. We recommend ! read more

This is a fun place to stop if you're in the area and looking to grab a drink. I've been here several times and always had great service from the bartenders and we've found ourselves in conversation with other patrons each time as well. The regulars will often make room for you to pull up a seat next to them and say hi. Lots of parking outside. It's definitely a smaller place which contributes to its intimate and welcoming feel, rather than giving an exclusive air as sometimes is the case at similarly sized places. I hate when I'm too busy to stop in if I'm driving by; I feel like it's a missed opportunity to make new friends. No kitchen, but they do have snacks available for sale. read more

Talk about a diveyyy dive bar right in the heart of little Cordelia! I used to frequent this place a lot before after work with co workers and friends... and recently I've just been dropping in every so often. I really like this spot since it's so close to home. You can just chill there and have a drink if you're just needing a quick cap after a long day (and no one bothers you), you can also go there still by yourself and just end up talking it up with the bartenders or locals, or go there with a couple of friends and still have a good time! From the building, to the decorations, and to the people... Thompson's definitely has some character which I love. I do like that they have TouchTunes so you can hop in on the rotation of music conveniently from your phone. I suck realllllyyyy bad at pool but i do like that they have a back room with pool tables.... gives ya somethin more to do! I'd say their prices for the drinks aren't too bad... and I'm all about support local businesses. Id day this is definitely a spot passer by's and locals who have never been should drop by at when driving through 680 or needing a quick drink. read more

Well for one it is a white America bar racist at that there is absolutely no spanish music on the Jukebox the crowd is 99% white I came by a few times after work to have a beer I sat by myself I don't bother anybody and their energy and their Looks say get the fuck out of here they definitely know how to make you feel uncomfortable if they don't want you there... Then I was here the bartender didn't greet me nor did he serve me after my friends instead he asked the guy who walked in behind us 2 mins after we walked in if he wanted anything I was standing at the bar with my card in my hand ready to open a tab. If you can get over the smell of piss then I think you'll be fine. Just keep your beers to yourself, don't touch the walls (unless you're gonna write on them), and avoid the bathrooms. read more

Local hang out place. Great priced drinks. I think a beer in a bottle was like $2.00 Beware of all the locals here, everyone knows everyone. This is the hangout Spot for fellow cordelians. Relatively safe place to hang out. There are shared restrooms here. They have a few pool tables in the back as well. If you're looking for a drink on a Friday night with some friends this is an inviting chill place. (beware and be prepared to see lots of women's bra's all over the place) read more

They have a great atmosphere, friendly bartenders, they pour a good drink, and there pool tables for playing as well. They do promote safety, and keep a clean establishment. Drop the kids off at jump highway then come here for an hour. It doesn't smell much better but they have cocktails . An oddly refreshing change from the Napa bars we are used to. There is nothing fancy here and plastic water glasses. But it's a fun adventure and a great spot to catch up with other moms. read more

I met a friend here and spent at least 20 minutes staring at everything on the walls and ceiling at the main bar while drinking a stiff whiskey and coke. Lots of : 1: Grimy bras hanging from the ceiling. I guess women wouldn't be inclined to wear their nice bras if they were just going to pull them off at a bar at the end of the night. 2: Sexy nude paintings of women and also a photo of a nude patron splayed on a motorcycle inside the bar. Look for it at the short corner of the bar near the entrance to the room with the pool tables. 3: Nasty comments and proclamations of love written on the walls. 4: A few things preserved in a jar that look like male anatomy near the tv. It was lovely. I was greeted within a few moments, and seated at a table if my choosing due to the timing of when I was there. Other than the TV on at the bar, which I could hear in the dining area, it was pretty quiet with a chill vibe. I chose the eggplant and tofu. They even had brown rice available as a side--a rarity at Chinese restaurants in the area based on my experience. The staff was very pleasant, too.

She intimidated them by asking loudly why they were wasting food by not eating. My guests said they didn't enjoy the food, to which she replied that they're wasting food. How could anyone enjoy food that's inedible? She certainly did not give cause for us or our friends to step inside that eatery again. (1 of 5) Grace, server: Poor Grace looked pressured. She tried her best to accommodate us but I think she was 'shut-down' by her boss. I decided the restaurant did not deserve a tip but our server did so I pushed the tip inside her pocket. Grace mentioned that the chef is new and she would try and see if they can do something with our check. They did not and even raise the cost on one of the dishes we ordered. The price on the menu is lower that what they charged. This was an eatery we frequented for years and we usually enjoy the food here. Since we moved, we haven't visited it but our family still lives in that neighborhood so we decided to meet there for dinner. They don't take reservations but the eatery was half empty for a dinner-time seating. We sat down and was presented with their menu, which haven't changed much so it was easy to order our meal. We ordered Crab Wonton, Potstickers, Singapore-style Rice Noodles, Orange Chicken, Bulgogi. None of the dishes came with rice, so we ordered a bowl of rice. One of our guests wanted wine. Our server said the wine menu is not available, so we decided to get the house-wine. Our server returned to say the bartender is not on duty and we couldn't get even the house wine. I asked for hot water which never arrived. (1 of 5) Crab Wonton: This fried appetizer should have a crispy exterior filled with a creamy, savory mixture of cream cheese and crab meat (whether real or imitation). They are deep-fried until golden and served with sweet-and-sour sauce. The subtle seafood flavor is not quite there and the filling did not fill the parcel. The sauce here could be found on any grocery shelf but that's okay. I opened up the rest of the wonton for two reasons: (1) I wanted to see if some of them were filled, and (2) to make sure they don't serve these to unsuspecting diners. (1 of 5) Potstickers: These crescent-shaped dumplings should feature a savory filling with cabbage and ginger. They are pan-fried to produce a golden, crispy bottom and then steamed, creating a tender top, resulting in a dual-texture, savory, and aromatic bite. Although the dumplings looked good on the outside, it tasted gooey - not juicy. (1 of 5) Singapore-style Rice Noodles: I was very disappointed with my order. It tasted like the chef just poured curry powder over the top instead of cooking it in. It tasted gritty and the noodles lacked any savory nor aromatic notes. It should have a slightly spicy curry flavor but I did not taste any of that. There was no smoky or comforting yumminess to this dish. I feel that even a few drops of soy sauce would have elevated this dish - giving it an umami taste. I'm giving it a 2 because they used the right noodles. (2 of 5) Orange Chicken: This bite-sized pieces of battered, fried chicken tossed in a sweet, tangy, and savory orange-flavored sauce should boast a crispy, sticky texture with a bright citrus aroma from orange juice and zest. Instead, it had none of the garlicky, gingery, or slightly heated profile. There was no depth nor flavor at all. The dish wasn't well-balanced. (1 of 5) Bulgogi: This was the best dish we tasted this evening. The meat was tender and cut correctly. It had a mild and savory marinade but was under-seasoned. It missed the garlicky and nutty caramelized, smoky flavor. It came ala carte, like the orange chicken we ordered. They didn't even offer lettuce leaves, which usually accompany bulgogi.
