The volume of the music did make it challenging to hear the person seated across from me. Let's talk about the bathrooms for a moment. You serve alcohol and the area that leads to the bathrooms are filled with cut mirrors that make it look like a fun house of sorts. I watched as several people tried to figure out where the door was. Sorry, I didn't get the pictures of the mirrored walls. The men's room enters from the left. The women's room enters from the right. You have to press on the wooden door to go into where the bathrooms are. The sinks and mirrors for hand washing are communal. At one point, I just stood there as I watched person after person try to figure out where the bathrooms were and how to get to them. That was interesting. The food was okay and will consider coming again. I ordered the surf and turf and the lobster. The lobster was overcooked and almost rubbery. The steak was hard. We also arrived at a time during the day when the restaurant was empty. Because of the excessive wait, our server apologized and offered all three of us complimentary desserts as a gesture of goodwill. He also mentioned that there would be a "big surprise" at the end of our birthday celebration, which never happened. We ordered three desserts based on his promise, although we only enjoyed two of them. The third dessert, the lava cake, was not enjoyable. What made this experience even worse was what happened when the bill arrived. Our server, Javier, informed us, "I'm sorry, I know I promised you free desserts, but my manager said we have to charge you for them." This was after we had already consumed it. Absolutely unacceptable! How do you offer customers something complimentary to make up for poor service, only to go back on your word and attempt to charge them afterward? We would NEVER have ordered three desserts had they not been offered to us for free in the first place. We spoke directly with the manager, hoping he would make things right. Instead, he told us he could only offer ONE complimentary dessert for the birthday. There was no meaningful attempt to acknowledge the inconvenience, the excessive wait, or the fact that his employee had made a promise to our entire table. The most disappointing part wasn't even the 2 1/2-hour wait. It was the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and management's unwillingness to honor a promise made by their own staff. For a restaurant where customers expect a memorable dining experience, especially when celebrating a special occasion, this was incredibly disappointing. A complimentary dessert should never turn into an unexpected charge. If management isn't willing to honor an offer, their employees should not be making those promises to customers. Mama Por Dios, you seriously need to do better. What should have been an enjoyable birthday celebration turned into a frustrating experience. A nice sized TV, sofas, and a few tables with a bar to chill at. I walked up and was greeted by Brandy (I believe that was her name) and explained my gift idea. I showed her the selection of cigars that my husband currently has and said, "Let's go shopping!" She was so nice. She walked me into the room of cigars and showed me a variety within my husband's taste. She explained there different cigars and flavor profiles which honestly went over my head but with her knowledge and guidance I didn't even question it. Along with the four cigars I also inquired about lighters. My husband has a lighter that he bought off of Amazon but has been having difficulties with refilling it. She went over the different types and asked how my husband cut his cigars or if he punched a hole into them, selected a few different options and showed me the different features. At the end of all the choices she showed me these really nice boxes to place the cigars in as a gift box. We found the perfect one that fit all four because one was super large. It also fit the lighter and butane can. Overall, the experience was amazing. I didn't feel how others expressed their first visit, I felt welcomed. I even met Troy and he was pretty nice too.
