NOVA Irrigation - Upgraded sprinkler head work charged but not completed

I highly recommend NOVA Irrigation. Jay and everyone from the NOVA Irrigation team were incredible…read moreto work with. They are very professional, knowledgeable, and did a tremendous job on both design and installation. The team was extremely thorough, responsive, and worked very hard in putting together a greatly improved irrigation solution. The irrigation system is now running far more efficiently and provides extremely good coverage. Pricing was very fair.

No Show and Lied…read more Back in March, I called the company's phone number to schedule a spring start-up service for my existing system--an easy job. The voicemail directed me to text the number for a faster response, which I did. In the text exchange that followed, I was scheduled for the service on May 1 between 8am and 12pm. The day arrives, and by 11am I had not heard anything, so I texted back just to confirm I was on the schedule. No response. I called the phone number, there was no answer, so I left a detailed voicemail. No response. I then followed up at 1:40pm with a screenshot of the text exchange from March when the service was scheduled. I then got a prompt reply re-confirming that I was still on the schedule for the day, and that he would check on the location of the technicians. I heard nothing further. Tried called again. No response. Texted again at 3:30pm asking for updates. No response. Texted again at 4:11pm. No response. Multiple additional phone calls went straight to voicemail. The company never showed. I had to make arrangements to work from home so this service could be performed. The appointment was confirmed over a month in advance and re-confirmed the day of the appointment. Now, I have to find another vendor, make alternate work arrangements again, and will be delayed in getting my lawn irrigated this season. This is a dishonest business practice. It is bad enough to fail to show for a job. But it was made worse by re-confirming the day of the appointment that it was still scheduled, still not showing, and then just ignoring communications by text and phone. There was no excuse for this. If there was some problem on the company's end that required the appointment to be re-scheduled, I would have been reasonable. But instead he just lied and wasted my time. I recommend you do not waste your time or money on this business. Screenshots attached as proof.

The Best Irrigation System - Rpz 375 back flow preventer

The Best Irrigation System

The Best Irrigation System…read more We were very pleased with The Best Irrigation System and Daniel Villanueva. This was our second experience with Daniel and this company. Last fall Daniel very efficiently and successfully wintered our irrigation system. Yesterday he set up our irrigation system for the summer. He was very thorough and tested each zone and sprinkler head for maximum efficiency. Two of the sprinkler heads were no longer working properly and he replaced those very quickly. Our irrigation system is now working perfectly. Will be all set until late fall when it's time to winterize and shut down the system for the winter. We felt this companies prices were very fair and found Daniel to be very responsive and professional.

Jose came out to do a spring restart on my sprinkler system and initially everything was fine,…read moreexcept one of the sprinkler heads wouldn't shut off after he left. I think it might've even been left on for several hours since it was in the backyard and I was working. Seems like he didn't do a very thorough check of things - as most spring restarts Ive had done aren't done in like 20 mins... So I call him and text him that night expecting to get to get a response the next day, which I do and he says he will be by the following afternoon. I ask what time and he says 4pm. He doesn't show and I text at 6pm asking if he's coming. Nothing. He calls me the next day at 9pm saying his phone fell into excavator? Okay whatever - convenient story. He shows back up the following day with another guy - they spend maybe 45 mins replacing a valve and fixes the back sprinkler. He then charges me more than double the original price for the restart. Which makes no sense. He basically messed up the restart and then charged me extra. Dude is not straight up. Don't use them unless you wanna get fleeced and bs'd.

Kyle is vastly experienced, loves working for his company, communicated wonderfully and resolved issues that HydroTech wish they could. I opened a project request on Yelp, and PSS was one if the responders. After a quick phone call on a Saturday morning, I felt so assured that I was speaking to the right people. Tony and Trish were so easy to talk to and pleasant. I shared some information, they asked some questions, and quickly figured out what the gameplan was even though I am so uneducated about irrigation systems and issues. Kyle and TJ showed up at the expected time, had wonderfully professional and pleasant demeanor, and heard my whole tale of tragedy dealing with HydroTech before getting to work. In less than an hour we had the irrigation system up and running, something HydroTech couldn't accomplish for YEARS! Now that I have found Problem Solved Services, I never need to go anywhere else. I highly recommend PSS to all!

Writing I had a new Hydrawise system installed last summer,…read moreand the experience has been consistently frustrating since day one. Within days of installation, I noticed that while the system indicated it was watering, no actual irrigation was occurring. After contacting support, I was told it was likely a wiring issue. I paid for a service call and had additional work done, including new heads installed in one of my zones. Now, at the start of this season, a new issue has surfaced--Zone 2 remains running simultaneously with Zones 3 through 6, which clearly points to a system or wiring fault. When I reached out for assistance, the response I received was disappointing. Before any inspection or troubleshooting, the representative immediately attributed the issue to lack of winterization and stated I would be charged again. This approach is concerning. As a long-time homeowner with a sprinkler system dating back to 2008, I have never encountered these types of recurring problems until upgrading to this controller. Even more troubling is the readiness to assign blame without first assessing the situation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service. The lack of accountability and customer-focused support does not align with the expectations for a professional installation and service provider. I would advise others to carefully consider their options before choosing this company.

The issues I described in my original review were frustrating, especially the missed appointments and lack of communication. That said, the company has been much more responsive and communicative since then, and they have gone above and beyond to address my concerns. I appreciate the accountability and the effort they've shown. My original experience still happened, but I also think it's fair to recognize that they have worked hard to regain my trust.

Bottom line: this is an incompetent company with garbage customer service, so please do yourself a…read morefavor and don't make the enormous mistake we made by hiring them (twice). This was the second time that we discovered that our sprinkler system was leaking after Campbell worked on it. In late 2023, their poor workmanship resulted in leaks so severe that Campbell had to generate a letter for us to send to the water company confirming that it was their fault that our water usage was so high- and not ours- so that we could ask for an adjustment to our bill. In 2025, we hired them again (I know, shame on us) to do our spring service on April 16th. The next day, we discovered that the system was leaking where Campbell had replaced a solenoid, so we immediately contacted their office to request that someone come out and quickly correct the problem. Their admin told us she would get us scheduled ASAP, but then we didn't hear from her, or anyone else in Campbell's office, for a week. On April 23rd, she finally emailed us to tell us that Campbell was unable to come fix the damage they had caused until May 8th- more than three weeks from the initial job that they botched. We called asking speak to one of the owners, Colby, but no one ever responded. On the morning of the 24th, having not received any response, I filed a formal complaint with the Virginia State Corporation Commission. I emailed the office Thursday the 24th, to advise that we had been trying unsuccessfully to elicit any kind of response from Campbell, and requested again that Colby contact me, as I had worked with him before. Their admin told me he was "in the field" and unavailable. She asked if we would be at home over the weekend so that Campbell could send a crew to fix their work, and I confirmed that we could make ourselves available. A couple of hours later, she rescinded that offer, claiming that they were "fully booked." I called to let her know that I had filed a complaint with the SCC, and she shrieked at me and hung up. After not hearing from Campbell for another four days, I emailed the other owner, Taylor, directly on April 28th to ask him to contact me. He never responded. Instead, their awful desk admin replied to me on April 29th claiming that I had reported Campbell to the "Business Bureau" (I assume she meant the "Better Business Bureau," which was false anyway, as it was the SCC) and that she interpreted that as a change in our "desire to keep the appointment," and asking me to clarify. I asked her AGAIN to have Taylor or Colby contact me, and left both of my phone numbers and my schedule. She claimed, despite their inordinately "busy" schedule, that they were both at a conference, but assured me they would contact me the next day. She then emailed me on the 30th to claim that their travel had been delayed, but assured me (again) that one of them would contact me the following day. Finally, on May 1st Taylor actually called me. I ran him through the entire summary, and he claimed he would get it fixed, and also sent me a follow-up text message claiming that he would be in touch the next day. Anyone who has read this far will know what's coming next: Taylor in fact, did not contact me the next day, May 2nd. Instead, he sent me an invoice for the still-incomplete work. Campbell didn't correct leaks in our system until May 8th, and when the tech arrived, he expressed total confusion regarding why it took weeks to send someone to complete less than 30 minutes' worth of work. Oh, but don't worry- Taylor texted me the very next day to eagerly check on the status of his payment. At this point, I was done chasing him and his company, and sent him his ever-so-precious, ever-so-sought-after check for payment in full, along with a letter expressing how disappointed we were. Save yourself the hassle and don't hire these people. But DM me if you want to see even more details, including the screenshots and time stamps for all the times I tried to get them to actually do their job.
