Contacted several drainage companies on 8/4 regarding water issues with our lower level. Looking for a consult on how to address -- grading, French drains, sump, etc. Classic Drainage called me the next morning on 8/5 and asked me to explain my issue in more detail, which I did. Told him I'm ready to start work ASAP. Read: I'm not a time waster, I'm ready to hand over money. The guy said no problem, but it's $75 for a consult. I said okay, happy to pay. Then he said well... I have to call you back to schedule later today, I have a wedding this weekend and I'm trying to fit all my estimates in before then. Sure thing, I said. Weird that someone would call me to schedule and then tell me they need to call me back later that day to schedule. Welp, never heard back from him again. I don't chase businesses for the privilege of paying them thousands of dollars. Estimates for work from others are $15-20k. I guess that's not interesting for Classic Drainage. read more

Andrew and his team gave us back our piece of mind. For years, our basement always flooded because of various reasons (sloped backyard which sloped into the house, old corroded window wells, driveway sloped into the house, etc.). We searched for a solution for years and no contractor gave us confidence that they had the solution. Andrew had the solution. He was thoughtful, strategic and knew exactly what needed to be done. His team added channel drains, pulled up our driveway to install pipes to move the water to the street, removed and replaced two window wells and repoured the concrete behind our house to slope away from the house. Our project was complex and our asphalt driveway needed to be pulled up too. He coordinated flawlessly with the asphalt contractor. His team worked hard and efficiently, he managed every part of the project and I am so happy to say that we no longer have water issues. Here's the timeline: called them via number on Yelp on Tuesday, a nice enough lady told me to submit for an estimate on their website which I promptly did, had this text message (NOT from estimator) contact me on Wednesday, and it is now Friday. Uhhh, we haven't even gotten to speak with an estimator. Also, regarding the messages, I'm not sure where I was unclear when I said I want the estimator to call me in advance. Andrew came out to my property 12/11 for a estimate to add drainage and regrade an area of the yard that had eroded before we install a new fence. During the visit Andrew began tacking onto the estimate items that were not necessary, like grinding stumps and extra drainage pipes where they were not necessary. After the conversation was over he asked my timeline and said he would send out an estimate. After waiting a couple of weeks with no contact and no estimate I began to email the company. The e-mail address I used has Andrew's name on it. As of today 1/29/22 and after 3 e-mails seeking a estimate or a time table as to when to expect the estimate not Andrew or no one else at this company has reached out. What a waste of time and truly unprofessional! Will not recommend to anyone and will go out of my way to convince people to look elsewhere. read more

After the rains earlier this spring highlighted some issues with our sump-pump drainage (or lack thereof), we went looking for someone to bury our sump pump drain pipe and gutter downspout and point them off the property. We just have a townhouse, so it wasn't going to be a big job, but it was bigger than I wanted to do myself. Classic does have a minimum job , which is understandable since even a small job takes equipment and people, and while we hit that it wasn't an unreasonable price to keep water out of the basement. The process was easy enough: after getting a rough idea of what the scope of the job would be (at which point they let me know about the minimum job rate) they sent out an employee to take some measurements and pictures. That person was able to come out the next day, the process took maybe 5 minutes, and we had a quote the next business day. They were back about a week later to do the actual work, which didn't take more than ~2hours including reseeding and spreading hay over the area they had to dig up. Less than a week later we got a short torrential downpour and a couple days of good rain, and the new drainage seems to be working perfectly so far. Overall we were happy with Classic Drainage and the work they did; the only issue we had was some confusion over calling Miss Utility (we thought they were going to call, they thought we were going to call), but aside from that it all went smoothly and I felt like I paid a reasonable price for what was ultimately a pretty small, but important to us, drainage job. read more

They came, they tackled and they conquered. Now we wait for the firmament to validate the work done. As for us, we are extremely pleased at the professionalism displayed by the entire crew. There was no lollygagging. Unlike in the past where the job estimator was no where near the work site, Andrew was onsite directing his team. Why was this work necessary? My trifling HOA went from regarding the constant yearly flooding of my home by the poorly maintained swales as a non-issue to promising a fix which is yet to come after 4 years of documented notification. In a bid to arrest the unhealthy condition, continued damage to our property and prevent injury, we deemed it necessary to fork out the funds and have Classic Drainage rescue our sanity. To combat our problem, Andrew designed the replacement of the existing 2 inch patio channel drain connected to a 2 inch pvc pipe with a 10 inch channel drain whose content would be ferried away by two 4 inch (total of 8 inches) pvc pipes. To further supplement all of this, he added a 5 inch channel drain along the fence line from which we were getting flooded by the community's dirty water during every heavy rainfall. He also removed a massive stump in our yard, aided us with the removal of another destructive tree and finished off the installation of the drain box (catch basin) that another contractor had defaulted on. They were careful to protect the yard, the play equipment on it and my vegetable garden. When they were done, they decorated the exit site of the drain with river rocks, reseeded the lawns and made attempts at washing the parking lot of the hideous clay that had migrated there from our property. All in all, even as we wait for the next heavy rain with some mixed feelings (you have no idea what we've been thru), we feel very blessed to have had Andrew respond to our clarion call for help. Website order page clearly states full cord price is $275 w/free delivery. Upon contacting me to arrange delivery, I was informed that shipping to Fairfax was $50 extra. There is nothing on the order page to indicate this. I informed the representative of the pricing listed on the website and he refused to honor the posted price. I understand there's really no such thing as free delivery - you're paying one way or another, I just want to know about it up front so I can compare prices accurately. Note: Representative has since emailed to say if I look on the home page, not the order page it says "...You live in Ashburn, Herndon, Leesburg, Reston, or Sterling? We deliver for free..." And if I don't live there, then what? It doesn't say. It certainly doesn't say there's a $50 charge. read more

Due to a poor original design, the sump pump was spitting the water through a very short pipe outside the house creating a soggy area on the sump-pump side of the house. The pipe needed to be extended and diverted away from the house. Not a complicated job, right? After not having much luck with securing an appointment with other companies "recommended" to me, I called Andrew with Classic Drainage. With a very minimal direction from me and communicating over the phone and email only, due to our mutual availability, Andrew and his team had the job done in one afternoon. Ordered a cord of firewood. Delivery was prompt, wood appears fairly well seasoned and should burn nicely this winter, price was very good for the area! Only gripe: a few pieces were not properly split. Like... "this piece will make five full sized pieces" big. I can get out the maul and finish it myself, but it was obvious to the naked eye the moment you saw the pile. read more

Andrew and his team cut alot of concrete from my garage and driveway. Dug a giant trench so that our plumber could run water and sewer into our garage. I called classic drainage, they called right back and I had a very fair quote within 10 hours. They did the work the next day.
