My wife and I moved into a 70 year old house on a hill. The previous owners had done quite a bit of work - french drain, waterproofing the basement, 3 sump pumps, steel beam reinforced walls - but we spotted some water along the basement wall. Tim came out to look at that and a bunch of other stuff (future work), and gave us a plan to resolve the immediate issues. On the inside, his guys came out and jackhammered along our foundation, installed a new system to collect and direct any water seeping through the wall to our existing sump pump discharge line, and laid new concrete. They even worked around a bit of a curveball without needing to deviate from the estimate. Outside, they dug a 22-ft trench and installed a french drain to alleviate the hydrostatic pressure on the basement wall, routed our HVAC condensate line into the french drain, installed 2 new window wells which allowed them to grade the yard away from the house, and installed another french drain on the far end of the garden to help mitigate the flash flooding we experience there. They finished up by laying fescue sod over the affected area, making it look nice and clean. All of the work was done in two days, with some minor cleanup work on the 3rd day after the concrete had cured in the basement. The price was good, the guys worked hard, the work was done on time, and the final product was excellent. We will be using them again for our retaining walls, landscaping, and whatever else comes our way. read more

We had some drainage issues around our house, particularly with all the rain we've gotten over the past few years. Tim was great to work with, providing valuable info about aspects of the project I hadn't considered, and explaining everything thoroughly along the way. Landscape and Drainage extended downspouts, added French drains and drain boxes, and took down two trees. They also offered the best price of the three companies I got estimates from. I was so happy with the results and the experience working with them that I sent Tim to my parents' house, where he did additional drainage and tree work. I added a french drain around my basement and caused some water logging in my yard due to extra water being pumped out of my sump. These guys are one of the few companies I found that would do the concrete work to completely flush water out of my basement. I hired this company for a large branch that had broken off but had got caught up in the tree; i needed it gone quick as many neighborhood kids ride and walk underneath it--Tim and his team were the quickest and cheapest: 5 stars. Decided to use them on bigger project in backyard: tree removal, brush removal, stump grinding. Date and time were not concrete, thats fine, I wasn't in a hurry, but a few too many days passed and they did most the work on a saturday afternoon, not ideal. Wanted vines removed to, it was in the contract, but my mis-communication, they only take care of what can be chopped from the ground not what is hanging (even if its within reaching height--great, more work for me). Was told a second tree needed to be taking down to get to my original, an extra $200. Large branch fell from bigger tree and smashed a corner of my shed in, he insisted on fixing but never followed through--i did say to forget it because the shed is old but like I said, it seemed pretty important to him. Upon closer inspection 100% of stumps were not removed, even the ones they created. Their website claims job satisfaction but I told Tim there were problem areas. He said he would take care of it but after over two weeks, and one phone call saying he didn't forget (and multiple subsequent messages and calls from me) nothing. 1 star Called to ask about a new job, a different tree to take down so maybe that would motivate the company to come back out. Didn't even get a message or call back. 1 star. Update: Received text from Tim explaining poor communication and a desire to remedy my dissatisfaction. read more

Tim is clever - he never gives you his full name; his website lists staff by their first name and last initial; the contract he sends you has another name entirely of a person who does not exist. The only person is Tim with a cell phone and he never picks up only calls you back. His website and contract have a PO Box as an address. The website states the company has all necessary licenses and that they carry insurance yet Tim disappeared from our project with our money and never returned after the 1st day when he and his crew put a hole in our driveway. He is not licensed in the state of VA and if he was honorable and had insurance he would not have walked off the job. He states he ran out of business cards - he signed the contract with a scrawl and you cannot make out his name. This is not a person to trust and there is no company - one man with a cell phone and cleverly worded website. He understands how to convince you to work with him and then gives you no actual information on him so that you are unable to take him to small claims or try to get your money back. Ask to see credentials before you hire contractors; check out that they are licensed with DPOR website which will look up a contractor by name. He actually emailed me that he would refund us most of our money which was just another lie. read more

Worked with Tim on some drainage issues around our home and a tree to cut down. He and his team were able to install french drains at the front of my home and link our gutters drains to a buried conduit which routed the water toward the back yard where the storm drain was located. We also had the soil at the side of my home regraded with beautiful sod laid over when finished. Tim and his team was also able to get to the work quickly and reasonably priced. Tim and his team did a phenomenal job with removing the infestation of bamboo in our backyard. He had a plan from beginning and stuck to it, giving me a call or text if anything unexpected came up (e.g., needing to remove a tree that was impeding their work). Good hearted people deserve a 5-star review. We had some broken branches that were caught in a tall tree, hung up on other branches, which were ready to fall down anytime and damage our roof. I reached out to tree services through Yelp, and Tim reached out to us very quickly. He came out with his partner Ricky to asset with the situation. He gave us a very reasonable estimate and we were happy to have the work begin right on the spot. As they started the work, the next thing I noticed they started to pick up some additional dead branches, cleaned up more branches off of our roof, and even volunteered to help out our older neighbor next door by cutting down some dead branches that they noticed. They went way above and beyond and did a great job. They told us they have been in business for a while but just started using Yelp. I think it's time for them to shine and people should reach out to them when they need their excellent service. We contracted Landscape and Drainage for a tree removal service. Tim is responsive to my inquiry and was able to give me an estimate based on a picture I sent him. We came to an agreement on a reasonable pricing, and he was able to schedule the appointment the very next day. At first, I was concerned because the company name didn't come up on Google search, and the company address on its web site is a PO Box address, rather than a physical address like most businesses do, and has just a couple of yelp reviews but are recent. Tim is perceived to be honest to his work and his friendly approach allows me to ask more question related to the job without feeling hesitate, and he professionally answered my questions in details. I like his professionalism to make effort to check in with our surround neighbors informing them he's doing yard work in our backyard in case they may need to cross over to theirs so they wouldn't have to wonder why there are strangers poking around their yards. They trimmed some dangerous branches and completed removed one tree (including grinding the stump down). We got multiple quotes from companies for the work but these guys were the only ones that did a full walk through with me to explain what needed to be done.
