My daughter and I had spent hours on the internet and days and many roadtrips within a 60 mile radius, looking for the perfect fountain for her new patio. We had no idea what it would finally look like, we only knew that when we saw it, we would know. Our third day of our hunt, we had Thompson's as the second of 3 planned stops. The wonderful Yelp pictures really didn't do Thompson's justice. Their entire property was stunning! I was in awe of the amount of acreage devoted to building supplies, a beautiful plant nursery, and all the wonderful statuary and other garden art in various themed displays. In my eyes, it had the atmosphere of a Disneyland of Landscaping crossed with a gardener's Toy Store. It was creative, calming, and impeccably maintained, with a vast variety of presentations nestled under mature trees and high patio coverings. It was beautiful, and the quality was very high end. First impressions held great promise. So, you would be correct in assuming that the things you will fall in love with will come with a substantial price tag. They don't sell junk. Ahhh, but it was here we found our dream fountain, a delightful, ~4' tall stone bubbler on a pedestal, with LED lights and cute little froggies. Instant love. And lo and behold, it was in our price range, in the middle $400's. It had that "je ne sais pas" we were hunting for, playful and definitely not cookie cutter looking. Several staff took extra time and effort to set it up, and another fountain as well, so we could have the full experience of seeing and hearing it work before deciding. So, we got it. It was so well made, it weighed about 300 lbs, and was darn solid. Greatfully, they used a forklift to bring it to our car and a couple guys to carefully load that sucker directly into our trunk. Good thing we didn't go bigger, because our car (with great shocks) now resembled a low rider. At the other end, my daughter and husband employed an extra hefty dolly to slide it out of the trunk and into its final resting place. What a feat, but they managed. It is now happily burbling, and was declared lovely by all, a real keeper, a unique find. Mission accomplished! What a fun adventure this was! Thank you, Thompson! read more

WOW, this place is beautiful and full of lots of wonderful outdoor decorations, plants, and building materials. The pictures online just cannot do it justice. I wish I brought my kids, they would have had a great time enjoying the different displays, aviary, and waterscapes. We were looking for a small-ish fountain for my yard. This place had many beautiful fountain options on display (in a shaded area). After having looked at tons of websites and visiting 5+ places, we ended up finding the fountain of my dreams at a really fair price. The staff was super helpful, as both options I was considering were not set-up to run, so they very kindly set them up for me so I could check them out. The man that helped me gave me a lot of great info and loaded it in our car. I will definitely return! read more

Great place to look. Horrible customer service. Unless you speak Spanish be prepared to get the crap treatment. Look at the reviews. Every negative review talks about customer service. It's not just the employees it's the management that fails to correct it or they approve of it. Either way look but buy elsewhere. read more

Went in search of a concrete bench and found a fabulous fountain instead. Staff were pleasant and helpful. There is an amazing bird aviary in the middle of this place. Plenty of fountains, concrete benches and concrete tables to choose from. Also, lots of cute whimsical statues. read more

I went to Fontana during summertime. Is it a call of the sun? Am I lacking vitamin D? Perhaps I was wondering if I wanted to experience cremation. Alas, no. I went to this bbq island place, bled sweat and actual blood. Then I asked them if they knew any pavers shop. They told me about Thompson so off I went. This place is like garden porn: you're just never gonna finish and each section just gets sicker and sicker. I wish I took design class cuz I really really want to learn how to utilize all they have to offer, but I'm gravitating towards white decorative stones, teal and brown vases that sparkle subtly in the sun and concrete benches that burned my ass as soon as I sat down. They also have plants and garden statues and fountains. I didn't think I liked fountains but I saw one that looked like a bridge made of balancing rocks and I kinda never wanted anything more. Until I saw a complain oval bench that invited me to sit in the shade. And yeah it's like Disneyland but for pavers, and benches. read more

Love love love their nursery side! Haven't used anything on the building supply yet but now I know where to shop for those.

Visited several times over the years for all the things we can't find at Home Depot or Lowe's. Perfect place for the items needed to redo our backyard. You can't find 3' x 3' cement pavers anywhere. We found them here and used them in the backyard when we removed the grass. They look amazing. Would have been five stars, but the wait was extremely long to get serviced on the last two visits. But overall we will return as needed, and I've referred others. read more

Disneyland of stone! Hope I didn't walk around with my mouth hanging open. Hate when that happens...means I will pay retail. I am building a flagstone patio and went to see their inventory. That's when the trouble started--there's so much! The yard was full of all types, like 5' pieces you could cut as you please and pallets of more manageable sizes. They weigh the pallets and off you go. The Design Center is very nicely organized and staffed. If I had a mansion in Malibu, I could see spending $2MM+ here, and feel like a Roman Tribune. read more

I wish they hired someone to pick up the phone. It rings and rings and no one picks up. The few times they picked up, I asked for Sales Rep, then was transferred to another line that rang and rang. I had to hang up after about 12 minutes. I have visited and purchased from there. In person, they are good because you are in front of their faces. They can't go off and hide somewhere. read more

For a first timer visiting here, my impression is that this place is a hidden gems ! Huge, well organized and clean. Big cleaned ( not dirt ) parking space is bonus too. Definitely will come back again for our needs. read more

Only "paper trail" for any project you are doing. Absolutely ridiculous that they do not keep records of projects. Grouted half of my fireplace, the contractors threw away the empty bag and Thompsons doesn't have "record" of what my credit card was charged for. What an absolute joke. read more

Place is amazing! All you need in one place for backyard make over. Worked with Fernando he was so helpful and great to work with. Nice landscapers/ homeowners dream paradise. All kinds of plants, shrubbery, trees, decorative rock, gravel, sand, statues, welded metal stagecoaches, cows, horses and cowboys on several acres of land. You can get lost in this place. There are several offices on the property. There were two ladies way in the back that were helpful. Other than that, you're pretty much on your own. The plump dude riding around in the golf cart wasn't that helpful. Said that he didn't have any rock we were looking for. Yet after 20 minutes of looking around, we found several bays of rock and gravel. Nothing to our liking. Watch out for the gravel trucks driving around in there. They don't seem to see small people. You might end up under their wheels. Overall a nice place to visit for some thoughts and ideas for your yards. A bit pricey and most of the people working here are MIA. Came out to TBM for a new cushion for my swing & check out the garden area for new plants! My husband & I had a great time looking for about an hour and a half just taking in the beauty of their landscapes and expanded areas; as we have been here a few times before to price out stone & rock for a project. I took a ton of pics so you could get an idea of the diff types of plant, trees, and garden treasures to chose from. I was impressed with the water features were expanded with Koi and turtles on the north end of the property. We ended up purchasing a few partial sun plants that were unique & different ( see last pic) and great prices on mint & spearmint plants (great for the garden to keep away spiders) they hate the smell. I found a great 3 tier hanging pots for $3.99 which was a steal bc I searched on line and it was priced for $19.99 somewhere else - definitely going back to get more for! This visit I noticed that the pricing on the plants seem to be priced fairly well and not expensive as previous visits & it was nice to see so many gardeners out shopping too! I also splurged alittle on a solar light with hanging butterflies and flowers that is approx 3.5 feet tall and looks great in our front garden ($50.00) Will definitely be back more often to shop here as it's the best & largest garden center in our community (besides the commercial businesses) & prices are much more affordable now. ** minus one star as I didnt find an cushions but still had an extraordinary time walking around and see everything. ** if you are looking for some fruits trees - the place is my chose to buy from with many varieties and good prices too! read more

I paid my contractor, Edward Salazar Sr., to buy materials and have them delivered to my job site. Two delivery days set and failed. Told by the general manager, Dustin Chavez, that materials were not paid for. Told by contractor a refund was given because of "miscommunication". The manager Dustin Chavez said he'd look into it and never called back. They are nothing but liars. They take your money and don't deliver. Very crooked and dishonest. I'm contacting the BBB to file a complaint. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE and steer clear of that contractor. Both are no good. read more

Customer service here is awful, the employees stand behind the counter and talk while you wait in line. They are rude and discourteous and did I mention extremely expensive. If you know what you are looking for and quantity exactly then this is the place. For a DYI'er or just looking for ideas good luck. They hardly have prices on rocks, stones or building supplies which is awful. Every store employee we ask gives us different information or, "sorry not my dept". I went to look for some flat stones for my pond that I'm working on. I found the sone I was looking for but it didn't have any prices. Someone on a forklift told me one price and that its sold by the lbs. So I picked a few pieces of stone and was given a slip with an estimate of $30. I went to go pay and was told it was $90 for 4 pieces of stone. I told them what I was told by the forklift employee and they tell me, "well he is wrong, I determine the price not them" then he has the nerve to tell me, "well you want them or are they too expensive for you?". At that point I just paid for a few plants I had and left. My recommendation to management is they need to show prices on the product and remind employees that without customer service they will have no customers which means no job. I ended up buying the stones at home depot later that day. They do however have a clean outside showroom with good ideas for home projects. The plants do have prices on them just wish the other items did. Come on Thompson's you guys can definitely up your game. read more

They have a really great selection, but their customer service is extremely poor. Their return policy is unreasonable, especially for unused items when I only requested an exchange. The item I purchased I cannot use and is essentially worthless to me now. It's a shame that they would not have exchanged it, as I have no idea what to do with the item now.
