OMG Where do I start Uses to be my go to spot for Tamales 1st-The prices went way way up 2nd-The quality went way way DOWN 3rd Hardly no meat with no flavor 4th-The place was empty..I now see why 5th-Worst of all. I kid was in the kitchen around the food while the workers were making the Tamales. The child had long hair and didn't have it pulled back or a hair net on...GROSS. She was all over the FOOD When I said something they acted like they didn't understand me and didn't speak English..smh I'm just waiting to find her hair in my food 6th- I asked for some salsa and it took 15 minutes...smh Quality, Service and cleanness has gone WAY DOWN. AND THE PRICE WENT WAY WAY UP Won't be back

9-8-24: I dont know why I was craving a sweet tamale but I was. Decided to try this spot since I was in area. I was hoping they had Strawberry Tamales but they sold out. I ended up with some Pineapple ones. They did the trick. They taste good and the masa was well prepared and fluffy/tender. My only wish was I wanted a more pineapple flavor to them as these were very light on the pineapple but they were good.

I'm so excited to have found this place!! The tamales are delicious!! Very clean & friendly establishment.... I had a green chicken tamal with a very flavorful canela coffee! Excellent bakery for those craving quality pastries. Especially with the location in a decent strip mall in Bellflower. Tamales were warm and fresh. All the pastries made with love. Mexican Coke is also sold here!! Restaurant is clean and service was fine. A must for those looking for a good bakery without all the hoopla and fanfare that cares about quality over quantity.

I enjoyed the sweet bread. They have a great selection. Came here to find tamales, had a craving for the sweet tamales. They did not have any. We got some cheese, chicken and pork and they were tasty. But definitely, not the best I've had. I had the chicken and the pork. My main complaint is that they don't have enough meat. We went there after our Dr's appointment at Kaiser. This bakery is in the shopping center next to the 99c store and Denny's. We ordered the chilaquiles, mexican bread, champurrado, and tamales. The chilaquiles were really tasty with green salsa and shredded chicken. The chips were crunchy as if they barely fried them at the location. The bread was not as great. The champurrado was tasty too. The pork tamales were good with the green salsa. I would definitely return for their chilaquiles and champurrado.

Wish I can give no stars... seriouly! Saturday I went in for tamal and champurado. The freaken tamal had NO MEAT, JUST Big PIECE OF FAT It grossed me out and wanted to go in so bad to see if they would eat it. Learn how to make tamales or dont sell shit. That is the only food I purchased and is 2nd time this happens. The menudo is nasty soggy over cooked. Pan dulce sits there fore days! Also the gelatinas and slices of cakes taste old. The champurado is okay, but lately super watery with no taste. Step up your game Thomes! Como van la clientela se les va desaparecer... Agan las cosas bien!

Omg, this bakery is too GOOD, AMAZING, reminds me of my childhood. If you haven't tried it, go try it now. Highly recommend!!!!

Seems like this bakery has 2 Yelp Businesses under one address. Came before work to purchase a few tamales for my co-worker After a long day of work. I purchased 2Chicken, 2pork, 3piña. The cashier needs assistance on top of this she charged me for three each tamale which was $24 but this isn't what I wanted. Unfortunately. She's really nice but I know she really busy being by herself and everyone walking in..so I will not remove any stars for this. Well here we go, she only refunded me $3 but it's supposed to be $6 because she charged me for 8 tamales. Well prices went up ,then this makes sense .. Now I have to give little stars because she's rushing and now I have been here for 20min just getting a refund. read more

This place is so good!! We always order breakfast or lunch from here I do recommend the chilaquiles , the burrito , croissants , tamales, the fresh orange juice , the tortas of milanesa so juicy. my daughter loves the champurrado !! Came here specifically for the tamales We found it on a Yelp search as we were in the neighborhood very early in the morning with a tamale craving. Unfortunately- the tamales were mediocre We tried all 3- chicken, pork and cheese and not one was good enough for us to have more than 1. Will definitely NOT be back for the tamales read more

On everything, the food tasted like it was coming straight outta my tia's kitchen! They even gave me the wrong order (cuz my Spanish is trash) but it was so good, I'm not even mad about it. Gem of a little place! I never knew it existed until today as I was actually omw to Big Lots. They have everything! On top of smelling like a delicious panaderia they have tamales, tortas, chilaquilles, aguas frescas, and so much more!! I mentioned to the beautiful/kind young woman at the register who helped me that I'd love to try a tamale sometime and she was so dang nice! (you know what you did thanks again) after trying the tamale and the soffffftest conchas ever I'm def making this my panaderia. Cant wait for the next pan trip! read more

First time going there and the man working there saw me didn't even acknowledge me at ALL kept cleaning the counters I was looking around because I didn't know I was suppose to wait for someone to literally come out and grab the breads for me that I wanted. I dislike going to places where they don't even make you feel welcomed. I came to spend my money at your business the least I can get is a hello. I love this place, my husband and I love the Avena (oatmeal). The bread selection is always nice , plenty of choices. Bread is always fresh and delicious. Staff is nice and inviting. The tamales are really good, especially the chicken. I was really happy when they moves into our neighborhood, we didn't have any place for pan dulce so this really is a great addition to our community read more

I love this place. Bread is always fresh. Food is good. The place is always clean and neat. My favorite is the milanesa torta and the cheese tamales. Staff is always so welcoming and nice. The aguas frescas are good too. Every weekend I come there are different aguas to try and all so good. I loved the coconut atole. Definitely recommend this place. read more

We've been to Thome's Bakery's several times and we've had very pleasant experiences. Their champurrado & coconut champurrado is DELICIOUS. We've also had the tamales, which are super soft and delicious. I will definitely be coming back to try other items from their menu. They also have cakes, breads, guava cheese pastries, chilaquiles, tortas and so much more. read more

When signing up, you have to choose a location and the downey location is the closest to me, which is where I can only redeem the reward. When entering, it was empty and 2 young girls were working but I was not welcomed in or greeted. I told them I was here to redeem the reward and they then asked what flavor I wanted. I took a moment to look in their display cabinet to see which flavors they had left (there were only 3 visible flavors inside the cabinet) but then I was told all the flavors were available... I think it would be helpful to atleast have 1 bundlet cake displayed next to each flavor so customers can visually see which one they want not just read the cake flavors. I chose the chocolate- chocolate chip flavor and it was good. The cake itself was fluffy & moist while the frosting has a light creamy balance to the cake. I enjoyed it because it wasn't overly sweet but the chocolate chip was very subtle, a bit nonexistent and more like another chocolate cake imo. The bundlet itself is a great personal cake size for 1 person, and a nice birthday freebie treat! Thanks NBC, I look forward to trying other flavors soon!

She broke down every last detail including how the icing would likely stain our mouths and very nicely reassured me that it would rise right off with water swishes. As many have mentioned the art on the left most wall which pretty much takes up the entire thing is this beautiful street art mural. Absolutely love the art. The men working behind the counter were extremely friendly and helpful, also letting us know they were newly opened. So love being able to support a new local business in the area. I didn't look up the place entirely to see what they offered so was surprised when I saw the frozen yogurt machines (similar to Yogurland or other yogurt shops) lined up with various flavors. Everything was clean, and the machines led up to the counter to pay where the usual yogurt toppings are available for you. We did not plan to get yogurt for our visit but instead got the 15-piece mini pancakes and added ice cream to it. I believe you can get all the toppings on the pancakes but we only got strawberry syrup, strawberries & bananas, and cinnamon toast crunch. We were also able to sample some of the ice cream flavors some of which were unique. The strawberry cookies and cream and matcha (I forget if it was matcha strawberry). It took a little as it was made to order and there were other customers they had to attend to. The pancakes were good. The one thing I wished was that there were just a tad bit more toppings it felt more like a sprinkling of cinnamon toast crunch and a little more syrup, which we probably could have asked for so it's not this place's fault. The strawberry cookies and cream was delicious, nice strawberry flavor with flecks of cookies. The matcha in the other scoops was very subtle, it wasn't bad and could have been the mix of everything. I think what was really interesting was that the pancakes were a bit salty which balanced all the sweetness with the ice cream and other toppings. TLDR if you're in the Bellflower area, give this place a try. From frozen yogurt to crepes to mini pancakes this place has a variety of desserts to try!

Even if the cut you're looking for doesn't come pre-marinated, they will marinate it for you if you ask! We ended up purchasing the La Carniceria Meat Market brand meat seasoning to use on the carne picada while grilling and it was superb. I understand that busy times can be stressful, but I don't understand why I was met with such negativity when I approached with a positive attitude and simply followed the pickup instructions. To make matters worse, one of the black gloves the cashier had been using while handling the cheese somehow ended up inside my bag with my shrimp. That was very concerning from a food safety standpoint. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. A friendly acknowledgment and better attention to food handling would make a big difference in the customer experience.

I could see this cafe being a fun study spot. There's also some board games and manga if you come with a big group.
