We thought we had a simple pipe leak behind a wall in our basement. George came out to fix it within 2 hours. Later that evening, we realized that while our pipe may have had a loose joint, the real issue was actually a wildly unfortunate (and gross!) situation where the seal around our upstairs toilet failed. Unbeknownst to us, every time we flushed, it would rain into our wall! He came back the very next morning and made it right. We were able to solve the issue for a lot less than we thought. George made an awful plumbing mishap a lot less stressful and resolved it for us quickly and reasonably. He also replaced our kitchen faucet and garbage disposal last year and we were very pleased. We called Thomas the Plumber because we had a leak from the kitchen pipe to the basement. It was after 3pm when we called, and to my delight he responded that he could come to check it out the next day at 10am. After checking things out, he gave me 2 options: repair the old, galvanized pipe or install new PVC pipe. Of course, the repair was cheaper. I like the fact that he offered options. The cost of installing the new PVC pipe was reasonable. He arrived on time and the job was complete in 2 1/2 hours. He was professional and my husband enjoyed conversations with him. This is my second time using George and he's still awesome! I called on a Saturday morning because my tenant told me there had been no hot water at the house for two days. George responded very quickly told me what information he would need to get a proper quote and gave me an estimate just based off of the house and what I knew about the water heater. After getting pictures and dimensions, the actual quote was within the estimate range provided. I did have a unique plumbing set up so that took him a little extra time to find the right water heater. When I say a little extra, I mean, he had it by Monday afternoon and had it installed by Tuesday morning. I used him last year for a pipe that broke outside and was quite disappointed. My pressure gauge disappeared after he was here. He was here possiby 15 minutes and heard I was on the phone as my friend was dying. (I'm sure he heard the call and I told him I had to leave)Charged additional money and did not clean up the mess he made. Tried to to charge me $30 additional dollars to hook up my hose which I asked him to just turn the spicket which he had placed face down so my hose could be connected . His only concern was his vacation to Disney. Don't use unless you have money to throw away and don't mind someone cutting holes in your drywall and then charges you more for the mess. George has been my plumber for over 2 years and I have called him for a variety of household jobs. He really knows his stuff and is incredibly honest with giving solutions for plumbing problems as well as giving very fair and competitive rates. He is a one man operation, but always does his best to fit you into his schedule in a timely manner. It can be more difficult to organize a time with George (you just need to work with him), but that's the trade off between a big company and a small operation. I think the one major advantage over larger companies is his rates. I had larger companies give me quotes for jobs before I found George (Thomas the Plumber), and they were not competitive with George's rates. read more

George came out to my home 4 times. I called him to install a water back up pump. I sent pictures to him first, so he could see the pipe set up. When George installed the water backup he moved my old sump pump, too close to the pit, which made the float stick. I came home from work to find my sump pump room, very hot. Luckily, I knew what to do and then called him. Then he had to install a new sump pump at my cost which was 1/4 hp, Kohler pump the only pump he carries. I asked for 1/2 pump, Liberty (purchased myself) There was a storm and the 1/4 pump was broken that George installed and the water back up pump did not work at all because of 1/4 pipes that are in my home. I found this out later, when researching the water backup and contacting Liberty about the issue and the manufacture requires to be used with 3/4 inch pipes. George's response to why the water back up did not work was my water pressure, which was fine. It was checked. If I was not home my entire furnished basement would have been flooded. The sump pump he installed broke off under the bottom and the water pump never worked. George removed the 1/4 sump pump and took this back for a refund for him, not me. Put another 1/4 pump in the pit until my 1/2 hp Liberty came in. George returned to change out the pump. He then told me, he could not take the pump, I had for 4 days, to sell it!!! I found out later the water back up requires 3/4 pipes per the manufacture. The set up that George installed was so unstable it looked as though a child put this together. I had to contact another Plumber who charged me of course to remove the water back up and reinstall my battery back up, and added two batteries and stabilized the set up. George blamed me for everything, calling me a liar and other names. As he did below, Trash! I wish you all could meet me, far from trash. Notice he called the other Gentleman an idiot? he called me a liar. Very unprofessional. I took Mr. Thompson to court never showed up. He actually, told me in a text I will see you in court. Judgement entered for payment, $1.800 +. He has ignored the Sheriff and my attempts to collect payment. All he had to do was appear and present his evidence, no Lawyer needed. I want my money that is due me and that the court agrees he owes me. I have a sump pump and a water back up..... in my possession, he can have. I only want what is due me, $1,800+ and the judgement will be removed. Its been two years since this incident. Yes, I have tried contacting you and your wife, you have a judgement against you. Next a lien will be filed on the property. Pay me the monies due, and I am done with you. I did not put this review on for 2 years to give you a chance to pay me. It's the right thing to do. I called to place a service request for plumbing repairs at a rental unit. Thankfully, he did answer but I think I reached him at a bad time because he seemed fairly preoccupied. He asked me for the zip code which I couldn't remember at the time but tried my best to recall. I'm pretty sure I gave the wrong zip code (That's my fault. I typically only remember the house number, street name and city. Not the zip code). Then he asked me for the neighborhood which I was able to remember correctly and provided him with those details. After giving him the neighborhood information (which a neighborhood in the Morgan State University area) he told me that he only serviced Baltimore Maryland and that my property isn't located in Baltimore (His mistake). I then replied telling him that the property is in Baltimore Maryland. He then responded telling me that the property is way out of Baltimore, therefore beyond his service area and that he wouldn't be able to help me, then he hung up on me. My best guess is that maybe he stopped listening to me after he heard the wrong zip code. I'm not sure exactly what it was. Hopefully this review helps people in the future. Positives: He does seem to answer the phone even when he's busy but I'm not sure that he's fully listening. Somewhat understandable. I found this company on Yelp after two failed attempts to have my water heater replaced by bigger companies..(I'm still waiting on both of them to callback). Not only did George answer the phone immediately and professionally, he was able to walk me through the steps and his timeline of availability. I snapped a few requested photos, was given an estimate (lower than both other companies), and scheduled my appointment within two days (one of which was a holiday). He confirmed our appointment the night before and told me what to expect. He arrived on time, was professional, pleasant, and immediately got to work. While he was replacing my water heater, he took at least four separate emergency service calls. George Did Not Wait & Left! He Could've Waited As Our Appointment Time Was From 9-11AM . George Left And Didn't Communicate With Neither My Husband Or I!
