Do you want to eat where I hope the locals eat, it's this place. Breakfast is amazing, lunch is amazing, dinner is amazing. The specials are always spot on. Ate here for lunch...it is only open for breakfast and lunch. A typical country restaurant, has sandwiches and sides on the lunch menu, but also have daily special. I had chicken dumplings (the special) with sides of fried okra, macaroni and cheese, and rice and gravy. The chicken and dumplings were quite good; I didn't have to add any pepper, which I typically have to add at other restaurants. Service was quick. If I were in town on a regular basis, I'd probably eat here for lunch once a week. If you're in town during lunch and are looking for good, small town lunch fare, this place should do fine by you. read more

Stopped in on our way back to the Myrtle Beach airport. It was the only place open on the quaint downtown of Georgetown, SC. Friendly service and good food, typical small town cafe with booths, a breakfast bar, and old styled refrigerators in the back. Really nice place. Ordered a breakfast for around 6 bucks, included two eggs, grits, 3 pancakes, and sausage. The coffee was hot, fresh, and quickly refilled, perfect little breakfast joint. read more

We were extremely disappointed, ALL of the staff acted as if they didn't want to be there, never said thank you or you're welcome, and they only catered to what seemed to be the "local crowd". The food was subpar at best, and apparently it takes 45 minutes to cook just eggs and bacon there. They should be ashamed of the way they treat newcomers to town. Came up from Charleston to meet a good friend from Myrtle Beach here for a weekday brunch so we could catch each other up on our growing businesses. The place was perfect with a good distance between tables, amazing service, great food at excellent prices. We were so comfortable that we ran over past the time they close to turn over breakfast to lunch. The ladies were so gracious they didn't even mention it until we realized we were the only ones in the place. They just laughed and told is we were just fine. We will both be back with our families...and mind the time. read more

This is not a fancy place. It has the feel of an old fashioned local diner. News papers on the counter, old style refrigerators and excellent home cooked to order meals. Beth out server always has a smile and makes us feel right at home. Breakfasts and lunches are made fresh and are worth the extra wait. After looking I found Thomas Cafe...I can't tell you enough that hours later I am still full and still dreaming of their shrimp and grits. We had breakfast at Thomas Cafe while on vacation and we had a great meal. The menu is quite extensive for breakfast and they have your typical breakfast stuff plus some unique items like a seafood omelet. My husband ate the seafood omelet and it looked good! It was a giant plate of food! I ordered the prince george breakfast and it was great! I ate everything on my plate. My kids had the french toast and it was so good as well. The waitress was very nice too. This place is a local restaurant, don't think many tourists visit this which is nice. It is not a big place and it was packed by the time we left. The prices were great! I wish we had a place like this close to home :) read more

The service was great even though the place was packed we were in and out the cheese omelette was done well and my friend got the cafe special and said it was very good. The home fries are the way I like them however my friend wished they had put some onions with them. And the special omelette had kielbasa and breakfast sausage the kielbasa could have been left out it just didn't go with the meal. read more

Awful. I give it 2 stars only because the biscuits were good and I'm picky about biscuits. But our waitress was extremely rude. If I asked a question, I got short one-word answers or she just looked at me like I was an idiot. I actually had to have my husband finish ordering for everyone (we have 4 kids) because I couldn't control my irritation with her and actually talk to her. I got the creole omelet. The egg had this horrible rubbery texture and even though it was supposed to have crab meat and shrimp, I could barely find any of it for the giant chunks of canned tomatoes that were in the omelet (yes, canned tomatoes) . No salt in the grits. The biscuits and gravy were pretty good. That's about it. Definitely will not be back. read more

The best part of Thomas Cafe is its retro and local vibe. The wait staff were friendly and efficient. The prices were reasonable. Food-wise, it is unremarkable. The internal temperature of the fried chicken special was warm where as the outer batter was hot, which makes me suspect the chicken was fully cooked separate from the actual frying (please correct me if I am wrong, but the inside was definitely not hot yet it was fully cooked. Been here twice and had the same experience. Terrible service and sub par food. Nobody likes a wet omelet! The staff doesn't seem to be coordinated in any way; they are confused and unmotivated. The food is boring and not particularly well prepared. For far better diner food head up top the Litchfield Restaurant. That place is a far better version of what this place should be. read more

It's so very difficult to find a good breakfast place where all the locals go. So it was refreshing coming here and seeing everyone having a good time. The service was great and the food was even better. I had the shrimp and Sausage Creole omelette with grits. It's really nice to have a place where you can sit and relax enjoy the atmosphere in a friendly environment and forget about life's problems for just a little while. Great prices. Today was only the second time my husband and I have eaten there. The food is great and the service is good and those that work there are really kind. Lots of food for your money. I love homemade biscuits and I love to cut my biscuit and put that ripe tomato in my biscuit. The tomato didn't come with my meal but they always give me some tomato's. Can't wait to bring my family here sometime when they come for a visit from Sumter. The old refrigarator was really neat. That caught my eye today and I told my husband about it.
