These included Indian blankets, Victorian opera glasses, jewelry, furniture, and antique collectibles from all over the world as my grandparents were world travelers. it never sat right with me that they could not give me an itemized list of what was sold and what it was sold for. So I thought I should share my experience. The staff also seemed hectic, unhappy, and always referred me to the owner, even though he was only interested in our coins. I would go somewhere else.

There are a lot of things in life you only do once or twice, and the first time doing it can be a huge learning process because, well....it's your first time. A wedding, raising a child, buying your first home, picking your pokemon go team, etc. Well, going through your dad's home and preparing it for close of escrow is one of those things. THANK GOODNESS there are companies like Grasons Estate Sales. Initially, I reached out to my realtor to get their advice on what to do. They said they could help me find someone to just literally dump everything in my dad's house. It would have costed me $3500 to do so. But I thought that would be such a waste, as I wanted to sell or donate as much of the items as possible. That's where Grasons Estate Sales came in. Initial consult, they came through and looked through the home, explained their process, and gave their initial impressions. They come in a couple days ahead to prep the home...put up some tables to line up your items and stuff. Then, they run the estate sale in your home for a couple of days over the weekend and take a % of the sales. Then, they (optionally) can dump everything you don't want. Or, you can arrange something yourself. You just pay them for their time/labor. Essentially, you are using the proceeds from the sales to help offset the cost of clearing out the home. Turns out, I came out slightly ahead after everything was said and done! Imagine having to try to sell items by yourself. You know how flaky those Facebook marketplace people can be. It would take literally weeks/months to sell items yourself in the time Grasons Estate Sales took. So much time and headache averted! I'm totally satisfied with the job Grasons Estate Sales performed. As I mentioned earlier, I was out of town, so by the time the estate sale happened, I was already gone. So, we communicated via text for everything, and their PM, Sunshine, was on top of things to send me progress photos and receipts of the sold items. Oh, and they were honest enough to even tell me they found $7 in one of my dad's drawers, and returned that to me! Really chill and honest company. Couldn't recommended enough!

Good reviews led me to reach out via Yelp to ask for details. After we chatted about our needs, we agreed on a date the next available time the following week. That date came and went. No body showed up and no call, email, or contact attempted by them. I reached out the following day as this was a relatives house and was told that 'the person assigned, got into an accident and didn't make it.' Additionally, the accident wasn't reported to the boss so he only found out when I complained. I hoped the person who got into an accident was okay, but would have appreciated notification. The follow-up appointment for set for the following week. They showed up and did the work. Another week later I followed up about report status. I was told it should be ready the following week. The report was sent and appears complete and what I needed. I have sent it off to the county recorder and will update this review if the appraisal is missing any required parts. The process cost $425 and took 1 month to complete.

I like that we were the only two people in a fairly large office as the global situation still has me uneasy about being in closed spaces with others. As for the appraising, everything took place in front of me. I sat in front of her desk while she examined the gemstone with various devices. Pictures were taken. She made me aware that my gemstone was loose within it's setting and informed me of the observations she made of the gem's fingerprint. The next day, as promised, I received a detailed report that I was able to use to insure my ring. It contained details on the main stone, side stones, and small stones. I went in thinking I was just getting a document for insurance and came out knowing my ring a whole lot better. I got a few offers on it, but was told to break the seal first so they could see the card. He talked me through the process of what to do and how to handle selling it. I was nervous about meeting people to sell it to, and he told me how to be safe about it. He also made me an offer to buy it if I couldn't get it sold. I really know nothing about this world and he explained everything to me and I felt very reassured. I didn't realize that there was a fee to appraise something, but he waved that and told me not to worry about it.
